Ch.2 Mates not `Married'

Inuyasha's Pov

I wake to my mate just sitting there, gazing up at the sky. She says we're husband and wife, I say we're mates, I'll never understand her, I swear. Well, anyways, she was just starring up at the sky, I brought her back down to my chest and rested my chin on her head, just breathing in her scent, Gods, it's intoxicating. She's pregnant now, I can smell every change the baby makes in her and it's driving me wild. She's always complaining that I'm smothering her or that I hover too much, but I truly can't help it. I've almost lost her so many times that I just feel so much more secure when I holding her, like that I know for a fact that she's safe in my arms. You're probably like, "Is this Inuyasha?" or "The guy actually cares?" I know I've racked a lot of bad karma, and that I don't deserve Kagome, **sigh** but frankly she doesn't give a damn, I try not either.

Damn, Kouga's coming, well, at least I don't have to worry about him; he's mating with Ayame now. Took him long enough though, you know what I mean, right? That it took him long enough to know that Kagome was never going to be his, now he didn't stop being protective of her. He's still warns me that if I ever hurt Kagome it'd be my head, but he doesn't mean it THAT way any more, cuz once Ayame knocked some sense into that empty head of his, he realized that he loved Kagome as an older brother would love his younger sister. Funny though, Ayame's become one of Kagome's best even after all they went through. Seems like they brought Hiko with `em, good Kenjii won't be bothering me.

"Yo, you shouldn't have Kagome up that high, mutt face!"

So much for not being bothered **sigh**, "Shut up, wolf shi-ooff!"

"Inuyasha, not in front Hiko!"

"Thank you, Kagome, I swear these two will never learn!"

"I know, Ayame, if my child cuss EVER, I'm going to have to hurt both of them!"

"Can I help?"

"Kagome/Ayame…grrr"

"What, Dog-boy/Wolf-boy, can't cope with a little itty bitty threat?"

I jump down and Kagome heads for Keade's place with Hiko in her arms and Ayame at her side talking away.

"They're too much alike**sigh**."

"You're telling me **sigh**"

After that we follow our mates in silence. **Sigh** He's so annoying.
