"I trust your night was peaceful Lord Sesshoumaru." The deer youkai said peacefully as he stared at his vast lands from the dining room balcony. He only made a small grunt for a reply. As he stared out at the winter picturesque scene of the central lands, he thought of Kagome as he left her sleeping this morning. Last night was torture for him, sleeping so close but yet so far. It was a cruel test of will and self control, she would constantly snuggle up closer to his warmth, unknowingly brushing him with all her right places in all his wrong places sending his youkai nature on a mad frenzy in its cage. He remembered how he woke up to an achingly throbbing member; he had to actually meditate for a minute to suppress the urge to pounce onto her delicate sleeping form.

"So tell me do you bring good news or bad?" the wispy soft voice of the other lord brought his attention back. Without moving his head, he looked over to the deer youkai and gave him an unreadable look.

"It depends on how you look at it." he said no more, but turned towards a familiar smell. Yasuo turned as well to the smell of lilies and honey. They both stared in lust as Kagome presented herself in the dining hall, she walked gracefully towards the table in her new white and sky blue fighting kimono. Her hair was done in a beautiful hairstyle; loops and braids of hair made an intricate design while the rest flowed down her back towards her calves. She looked as if she didn't notice their presence as she sat meekly at the table alone. They both stood there watching her as if to see how long she would sit until she noticed.

Without even turning her head, she broke their stare. "It sure is getting lonely in here, but if you choose to stand out there don't let me stop you." Her voice held amusement as her face held a smile as she turned slightly towards them.

"You are quite something Lady Kagome my wife never leaves the room until late morning. I just assumed all women did that." He laughed richly as he and Sesshoumaru entered the room, taking their seats at the table. Sesshoumaru sat right across from her, while Yasuo sat at the head of the table. He growled low so that Kagome could not hear towards Yasuo, he could smell his lust all too well. He reminded him that she was his and he hasn't killed for a few days and breaking that fast would be no problem. He watched with uninterested eyes as the deer youkai cleared his throat fearfully. As the food came out their attentions was drawn to the figure at the dining room entrance. She stood, as did Sesshoumaru and Yasuo, and looked over to see the most beautiful sight standing at the doorway.

"Lady Kagome I want to introduce you to Kazuo, he is like a son to me. I am actually surprised to see that he is here usually he is off roaming the world's many regions." He had a gentle laugh in his voice as he raised his hand presenting the wondrous crane youkai standing at the door. He stood as tall as Sesshoumaru with snow-white skin; he had beautiful black markings over his eyes, reminding her of extreme fashion model's eye makeup. His eyes were a perfect smoky gray, his hair was a beautiful white, not silver like Sesshoumaru's but perfect white. But what really caught her attention was his wings they were as white as his hair with black tips at the very bottom, sort of outlining the wings. He wore silky pants that slightly flowed, while his shirt was like a gown, when reaching the waist it split into four pieces, two strips for the front while there was two strips for the back flowing delicately with each movement. As her eyes slowly made their way back up she was startled to see his smoky gray eyes staring right back at her with high intensity. She couldn't help but blush as she turned her eyes away, hoping he didn't notice.

However Sesshoumaru noticed it all too well, he grunted his acknowledgement at him before sitting back down. He never had a reason to really hate Kazuo before but now he could feel nothing but. He was the only one that should stir any type of emotion in his mate.

Kazuo was stunned when he saw her, he felt her presence as he sat upon his mountain, it was so strong and unique he had to come and lay his eyes upon the source. She stood in front of him in beautiful winter colors while her hair was done in the most elegant style complementing her beautiful face further if it were possible. He has seen many beautiful demoness before some that would send a male youkai in a frenzy of lust if they were just in the same vicinity, but this one's beauty was just all too pure, so natural, and frustratingly to him untouched. It was as if she had no clue that she looked like a goddess before their eyes. Even her strong power emanating from her body was an all too attractive lure; he knew she was of miko and of youkai blood just by looking at her, one of the most rare of creatures of the world. He was positive that she had to be the only known one living today. Other demoness would flaunt their vast power; wield it even now with uncontrolled gloat, but not this one, this one acted as if she forgot she possessed such fearing powers. He walked quickly to the table sitting right beside her. He smiled devilishly as he smelled her excitement and nervousness rise, he was never one to run after females but this one was a completely different story.

However, two things stopped his desired intentions to a stand still. The smell that she was the mate of the taiyoukai of the west kept repeatedly invading his senses and the low growl that was shaking the very floor he stood upon, coming from none other than the taiyoukai from the west. He controlled his desire before he looked to the pulsating eyes of the west lord. It was not his intention to fight the renowned taiyoukai.

"Konnichiwa lady Kagome, I am honored to meet you." He bowed holding her hand in his. She noticed that he had long talons instead of claws like other youkai. For the fear of sounding dumb she nodded and bowed quickly back, before seating.

Kagome looked down at the table to control her excitement, she could feel Sesshoumaru's weird vibes hit her like tidal waves. She looked up to see him giving her one of his infamous cold looks, she just smiled back, she didn't care right now to find out what he was seething about, she was too happy knowing that she was sitting next to the only youkai she read about in her time. She remembered the story instantly when she first saw him.

"Long ago on Mt. Tanigawa there was once a beautiful crane. There was no other quite like this creature, for it is said that it was a youkai, but this youkai would harm no one out of evil. He was the most beautiful creature in all the land; he was as white as the snow-covered mountains, while his eyes held the great storms of the earth. Many would climb Mt. Tanigawa to seek the crane; they all knew that the crane stood for peace, wisdom, and time. But their minds were foolish when they asked the great crane life's many questions, they would not heed the crane's warnings and asked him their questions of greed and foolishness nevertheless. No one knows the price they paid for their foolishness, but they knew it must be horrible for they hid themselves in cloaks as they ran from the mountain, to live a life of seclusion.

It is said that the great crane shall never die, he only continually waits for someone to ask the right question."

As they ate she listened to Kazuo, Yasuo, and Sesshoumaru talk of the current political issues, Kazuo's voice was like a soft symphony she nearly fell out of her chair. It was just so damn soothing, unlike mister deep and cool she inwardly frowned. It wasn't like she didn't love Sesshoumaru's voice it was just something about Kazuo that made all her attention draw to him. She only caught bits and pieces of their conversation though; she was too busy trying to stare unnoticeably at Kazuo's wings. She was just so enthralled with him she could hardily contain herself, here was a real life fairytale character sitting right next to her eating breakfast.

He noticed her enthrallment with his wings as he carried on a light conversation. He smiled as she tried to look inconspicuous doing so; curious to see her reaction he fluttered his wings as if they were just twitching. He was greatly pleased to hear a small "eep" of surprise and a small giggle to match.

Sesshoumaru was all too happy that breakfast was over so he could drag Kagome away from that damn crane and kill the damn bird on the way out. He wanted to kill him so bad he could barely control his anger, and just remembering her enthusiasm over that damn bird made him want to take her on the spot to show her and the rest who she belonged to. He sneered satisfyingly at the thought, hearing her scream his name would get the point across just fine. As they got up he stood and waited for Kagome to come to him, when she did they walked out of the dining hall and toward the meeting room. He stopped at the stairs as Yasuo and Kazuo went on.

"Eichiro, Jaken and I will be in the meeting for half the day discussing regional affairs." Eichiro was now coming around the corner with Jaken and stopped before them.

"What am I supposed to do while you talk?" she said she tried not to let her disappointment show through but she was having a hard time.

Eichiro noticed this, he stepped up to say something but a soft male voice cut right in.

"I have no use for these meetings so why don't I show Lady Kagome the central lands?" they all turned to see Yazuo with a cheery smile on his face. Sesshoumaru was about to wipe that smile off with a quick flick of the wrist but the over excitement that was practically dripping off Kagome stoped him, he turned to look at her with a raised brow.

"Ooh please I would love that, I don't think I have actually been that far in the central lands before." She was practically jumping up and down, reminding him way too much of Rin. He had no wish for her to be disappointed leading to another fight, but he sure as hell didn't want her with Kazuo, but it seemed he had no choice when he looked at her. He nodded his head and gave the crane a mental message he would never forget before walking in the meeting room with Eichiro and Jaken.

Kazuo suppressed the urge to shudder as he heard the promise of death in his head from the taiyoukai. "So what would you like to see first: the gardens, the villages, or all?" he knew her answer but he wanted to hear her say it.

"All" she squealed, she couldn't believe how much fun this was going to be.

"So your saying that if the other region's and your theory proves right I will have to join forces against the north, and you would rather me to be your first ally." Yasuo said mildly as he sat at his desk staring at the back of the taiyoukai who was standing at the window, deep in thought. He turned slowly giving him a good view of the golden eyes, that could hold so many things, but what at, at what times he never knew.

"If we prove to be correct in our speculations you will have but no choice than to fight, and to be an ally is your safest bet. I however do not need an ally I am just simply asking because being in alliance with your land gives me greater options during the war, and I am simply respecting the west's ancient ties with the central lands." He barely blinked as he said this telling him clearly that he didn't care either way. Yes he has heard and has seen the enormous army of the west, no other compared to it. It was referred to as the "immortal army", even when half his army is killed, just the swipe of a powerful sword he holds at his waist they are revived eager to fight again. Many have tried to steal the sword away from him, but they were killed by the second powerful sword at his waist. It is said even if you were to obtain the healing sword you couldn't master it, for it only answers the call of the birthright owner. Making the taiyoukai standing in front of him with the emotions of a grave, virtually unstoppable.

Sesshoumaru knew he would accept, he knew Yasuo valued his tranquil region too much to lose it to a war and to be tied to a region that would try to overthrow him by covert means. Yasuo knew that he cared little if at all about his lands and his neutral stance, he only cared about his army, lands, and his new little family. He mentally sighed as she entered his mind again even during political meetings, she must have some sort of spell on him to drive him slowly insane. He turned to see a servant walk in and whisper something in Eichiro's ear, causing his eyes to widen and a smile to break out. He knew even before he told him it had something to do with his wife.

"Umm its seems Kagome went a little crazy in the market and has so much stuff they sent it to the castle already. But she sent a message saying she got something for you too so you can't be mad." He stared at his soldier with indifference as he watched him try to say it seriously. He heard Yasuo's chuckle as he turned towards the windows again. For some unique reason she could infiltrate anything and bring smiles to listener's faces.

"We have a deal Lord Sesshoumaru I will have documents filled out tonight and you may sign it in the morning before you leave."

He walked out of the meeting room and stopped in the middle of the hallway.

"Do you think its been enough time for Lady Kagome with that damn Kazuo?" Eichiro leaned toward Sesshoumaru with a gleam in his eyes; leaving enough room in his words for wondering thoughts, if it were up to him, he would have locked her in the bedroom never allowing her to get close to that damn crane.

"More than enough." He returned the look with a deadly gleam, he chuckled as they sprinted outside to go procure ones possession and the others possession.

She leaned forward and thrust off her heal to gain more speed, sending her gliding past Kazuo with infinite grace.

"So you say in your world you glide on ice with short blades for fun and for sport?" he asked excitedly as he tried to keep up with the figure that possessed all his attention.

"Yes its simply called ice skating, I used to ice skate all the time when I was little." She said dreamily as she spun numerous 360s.

"When you were human of course?" gliding over to her catching her by the waist to stop the spinning. Her hair was loose and flowing richly down her back now, they laid her combs on the embankment of the lake so they would not get damaged. She looked up at him with her wild hair and carefree eyes and astounded him. He backed up quickly, from the dangerous situation.

"Tell me Kazuo why do ask me questions if you already know it?" he could see the innocent puzzlement all over her face. Taking her hand, they started to glide slowly around the edge of the lake. He remembered how she proposed the idea to glide on the frozen lake when they were heading back to the castle, he couldn't help but cave to her request.

He smiled as he pushed them faster and faster, her hand gripped his for safety. " I do not know everything, I just know a few things. For instance when I saw you today I could see images of you in a world much different than ours which I assumed to be the future, and then I just knew the rest. As far as your adventures with Lord Sesshoumaru's half brother and your marriage to the taiyoukai. But don't worry I never tell my knowledge to others."

They were now going so fast she was quite positive she was going to die. "Kazuo slow down!"

She heard his light laugh before hearing his words. "As you wish." She looked to see him release his glorious wings to slow them down like a parachute.

She smirked, as she glided to the center of the pond holding his hand. "You want to see my wings?" she said mischievously.

He wasn't sure he wanted to, that gleam in her eyes was just wrong. "You have wings?" he said quizzically.

"I take that as a yes." Her eyes started to glow as her mouth chanted words silently. Instinctively he stepped back but her grip on his arms tightened, he was about to protest but the sight before him made him lose all thought recognition. Bright pink and purple wings appeared behind her, he wanted to touch them but he could tell by their transparent look that they were pure miko energy. Touching them would hurt like hell, slowly they spread out slowly flapping until they were being lifted off the ground. It was amazing usually the one being flown would have to clutch the flier for dear life, but it was like he was surrounded by her power they flew evenly up in the air and towards the castle gardens, all the while her eyes remained closed concentrating on the spell.

They didn't even make it out of the garden when they sensed her strong aura above them, they looked up expecting to see the crane flying her to the castle or vise versa. They landed in front of them, Kagome's miko wings disappearing instantly.

"I had a wonderful time in the central lands Kazuo, please come and visit me anytime." Bowing she walked slowly to Sesshoumaru, she was a little tired and wobbly from using such a vast spell so soon.

"I will see you tomorrow before you leave Lady Kagome." She turned to see his beautiful white wings spread and take off. She mentally chiseled his face into her memory, smiling at her with his cute eyes and dimpled smile; she didn't want to forget that.

As she reached Sesshoumaru, she could see Eichiro standing with his arms crossed over his chest with a sarcastic smile on his face. She gave him a questioning look before turning to Sesshoumaru.

He could sense her fatigue but more importantly, he could sense strange feelings coming from her over that damn crane. Grabbing her by the elbow he hauled her at full walking speed up the stairs to their rooms, he didn't need any looks of the Central Lord even though he wouldn't give a damn if he did receive one.

She was practically thrown into the room, as he shut the door with his tail. His face was stern and hard set while his eyes held a deep fire within the amber orbs.

"What is wrong, why did you drag me up so quickly? Did the meeting go alright or what?" she couldn't help but feel worried at his weird behavior. She jumped as he appeared behind her all of a sudden, letting out a low growl and a large intake of breath.

He could smell her purity and her small tinge of worry, the purity relaxed him but her worry only sparked more questions. What did she have to be worried about? What was she hiding from him? Faster than she could react he pushed her to the bed, making her fall on her back.

"Hey!" she screamed as she tried to react but the lean and powerful body of the taiyoukai was preventing all movement. "What is your prob.."

"Do you have emotions for that crane Kagome?" his growl vibrated her whole body. She couldn't believe he was asking her that. Was he jealous of Kazuo? Does this mean he has feelings for her, was it even possible? No it couldn't be he is just possessive just like Inuyasha, but still it was a different feeling it aroused in her. Slowly she raised her hand to his hair and ran her fingers through it, eliciting a soft growl from him. His eyes losing their fire being replaced by the cool glow of his molten orbs.

"I only think Kazuo is an extraordinary creature, because in my time there are no youkai or any traces. However there are stories, and there is a beautiful story of him. I couldn't believe I found the youkai in that story. It is just simply amazing that I did." She said calmly and evenly to assure him that Kazuo is just a celebrity to her.

Looking in her eyes and smelling her scent he detected no lie. "What can they say about him, he does nothing but sit upon a mountain and answer questions, and suck the youth of fools who ask the wrong ones." He said bluntly, "There are no stories of youkai lords who have led great battles or great countries?" she saw actual question in his eyes as he asked, she nearly jumped for joy, she mentally put that down as progress on his emotions.

"Well I have not heard of any, but that doesn't mean there isn't any." He curiosity got the best of him, getting up he hauled her upwards. He started to take off his armor, he felt her touch on his right and turned to see her undoing the straps on his right. He gave her a suggesting stare when she looked up.

"Are you suggesting something my dear Kagome?" he said with a raised eyebrow. He barely saw her move as she let out a squeal and rushed to the other side of the bed in a blur.

"You hentai I was only trying to help!" he chuckled at her mortified look, as he finished removing his armor, leaving his swords on however.

"Dear Kami that's two, we are on a roll today." She said as she bounced on the bed.

"What is two and what of rolling?" sitting at the desk looking over papers while she bounced about.

"Well you are starting to show a lot more emotion around me and you just laughed. Now that's what I call a break through. And nothings rolling silly, that's just another one of my expression from my time." He smirked as he read through the documents, he would have to watch himself better with his emotions. She was breaking through to his years of hard work, he couldn't afford to slip in front of any one important, even though he highly doubted he would make such a careless mistake.

Turning in his chair he looked to see her wild spring blue eyes staring back at him. "Tell me about your time." He still found it hard to believe that there were no youkai in her time.

"Well lets see…" she turned over onto her back staring up at the ceiling, trying to think of a outline. "Well in the future we have running water, meaning if were to turn a handle that is connected to a basin we would get hot or cold water that runs through pipes. There is electricity…"

Sometime during her explaining he changed into his night hakamas and slipped under the sheets, leaning against the head board, parallel to her sprawled figure. He watched covertly as she changed while talking, into a thin gown. Unfortunately for him she left those damn strange under garments on. After an hour later, she finally ran out of stuff to tell him. Lying down next to him, she stared out the window; to the pale moon thinking of Sango, Maroku, and Inuyasha she kind of missed them now.

"Umm why did you get mad over Kazuo today?" she said hesitantly still staring at the moon.

He couldn't tell her he was jealous, but he could not tell a lie either. Inwardly groaning he stared at the moon before answering. "You are my mate I sensed his arousal towards you and many other males that come bye you, since you are unclaimed fully I have to assert myself even more so to you. I had to see if your scent was ruined by the crane, that was why I circled you." She could hear in his tone that the conversation was through, but the hell if she was. Turning over and sitting up she stared at him closely, her face mere inches from his.

"Then why did you pin me to the bed? Why did you ask me if I had emotions towards him?" she growled fiercely he was avoiding her question with vague answers, the same technique he taught her. "I will not be your emotional punching bag, don't let me think it is a genetic thing in your family. Just tell me straight up what you feel just like I do you, don't play mind games with me lord Sesshoumaru." He flinched at her cold formalness, however she was right he could not and would not treat her like Inuyasha. But it was his youkai way to assert himself with force, he would not let a woman change him.

"I will not treat you as my brother treat you. However, you will not engage yourself in any more activities that will compromise my anger." He waited for her reaction.

"What do you mean "compromise your anger" I have done nothing of the sort. I simply went out with the guy you allowed me to go out with." She was trying to reach the back of her hair with her comb but she couldn't quite get it, frustrating her even more.

"Turn around." His curt command interrupted her tirade and failed attempts to combing her hair. Biting her lip to keep from screaming she turned around in a huff. When she felt two warm hands span her waist pulling her toward the chiseled chest she so desperately tried to ignore earlier she couldn't help but let out a tiny whimper.

He could smell her arousal mixed in her anger as he pulled her closer. Grabbing the comb out of her hand her started from the bottom, which was pooled in between them. Working his way up he let the comb slightly scratch her back as he combed, wondering if he would get the expected response. He smiled in satisfaction as he felt her body quiver and Goosebumps form on her skin. He no longer could deny the attraction between them, both of them desired the other physically, but he could not take her for they did not truly love each other. He promised himself when he was but a pup that he would take no mate to his bed to make the life bond, the blood seal of the inu youkai, if he did not love her and she did not love him in return. Years ago when he first established himself as the heartless taiyoukai of the west, it became clear to him that he would never know of true love's tender touch. He envied his brother he had not one but two chances at love and he envied his father that he found love, even if it were human.

Was this his chance? Or was it just a friendship?

"I will not argue, do not test my anger Kagome, I have killed many without even being aware of it. I tell you not to scare you, but because of your own safety, do not think I keep a calm façade for the mere pleasure; I keep myself controlled because it was I alone that took out the neko army five human years ago. My soldiers stayed out of range and watched me as I calmed down, just so they could get to me. I do not want to get angry with you, Kagome." Her name rolled off his tongue so gently.

"Hai Sesshoumaru I will do my best to keep your wrath in check." She smiled, while braiding her hair; tying it at the end with her hair barrette she flipped the large braid back down her back. Grabbing her comb, she turned towards him with a cheesy grin, man she loved doing his hair, it was WAY better than hers, so silky. He sat up and turned so that she could access it.

His eyes fluttered shut at her soft strokes, her hands were so gentle they felt like butterfly wings running through his hair. It was all too soon when she finished her combing.

"Now it is time to sleep so you may go see your family tomorrow." He didn't want to leave her but he needed time to collect his thoughts.

"Yay!!" her growl reverberated through out the room, extinguishing all the candles. But he wondered was she anxious to leave him?

"Good Bye Lady Naoko and lord Yasuo I think your lands are very beautiful. Thank you for your hospitality, please visit whenever you wish." She bowed deeply and returned to Sesshoumaru's side.

He was pleased at how well she held the formalities, as he approached Yasuo. Jaken and Eichiro stepped to the sides inches behind him, as Yasuo was handed the treaty papers, symbolizing that they were his army and loyalties.

"I Yasuo lord of the central lands agree to ally with lord Sesshoumaru lord of the western lands against an opposing force against either region." She watched as the central lord cut the palm of his hand and smeared his blood on the document. The paper glowed a bright green before being presented to Sesshoumaru.

"I agree if these terms are meant." She just lowered her head at his briefness. She watched as he swiped his palm with his claws viciously and smeared it upon the document. Turning he walked towards the dragon.

"I guess that means it's over." She mumbled as she walked to ah-un, but she stopped.

Sesshoumaru turned slightly to see what held her, she just stood there standing staring at no fixed object. He looked beyond her to see Kazuo landing on the roof of the palace, he had a feeling it was him.

"Is there something wrong lady Kagome?" Naoko's soft voice traveled to her.

"Iie there is not, I just need to ask Kazuo a question." As soon as the words escaped her mouth everyone gasped.

"No Kagome I will not let you, you do not know what you are saying." She had to she turned ignoring Sesshoumaru's growl.

"I will ask you the right question and you will listen to answer." She watched as if in slow motion, Kazuo's eyes fade white. Swirls of white and yellow energy surrounded him and her lifting each other in the air.

"I hope you know what you do miko." His voice was heavenly soft as it filled the sky. She could see Sesshoumaru draw the Toukijin preparing to attack either Kazuo or the force holding her in the air.

She held out her palm, "No I know what to ask, have faith my mate."

He let out a frustrated roar, at her words, but he held the Toukijin with a ready hand.

Turning toward the serene looking crane, she took a deep breath and let it out slowly. "Give me your time so that you may let me seek your wisdom, so that I may achieve your peace, will you not oblige this selfish wish?"

His heart was frozen between beats as he awaited the crane's answer. If she got it wrong he would kill the damn bird before he got a chance to do anything. However, if she got it right he was going to kill her his own damn self.

"You are very wise miko ask me of anything and it is yours." He smiled at the miko he was so relieved that she was right, deep down he knew she would be but he was scared nonetheless.

"Iie."

"IIE!!!!!!" she heard everyone say at once. She just giggled and wagged her finger at them.

"Iie I will save my wish, I will call you and you will come and you will answer when I need it most."

"Hai Lady Kagome as you wish." He chuckled before flying away.

As soon as her feet touched the ground she was surrounded by a blur, all she knew was that her body left the spot she landed on. When the white blur finally stopped she was already on Ah-un who was taking off, she could feel the rigid body of the taiyoukai behind her. She just smiled and leaned back against him she couldn't help but snicker as she heard his frustrating growl.

"I wonder if you want me to kill you at times." He still couldn't believe that she asked the crane the correct question. No he wouldn't give her up she was providing way too much entertainment to his bored life.
