The house was cleared, courtesy of Sesshomaru, who once finished, made sure he was alone then fell onto the loveseat laughing softly, then almost hysterically. It was a never ending supply of amusement for the family to watch as Inuyasha unwittingly screwed up time and time again, and it occured to Sesshomaru just how bored he'd be without that amusement in his life. He cocked an ear to hear Inutashio pacing his study, Inuyasha was going to hear about this.
Kagura had retired as soon as Inutashio had called an end to the disaster of a dinner party, and once again Sesshoumaro found himself alone and pondering just why he kept this obviously sham marriage alive. He sensed Kagura's need for him, yet was confused at her need to stay away from him. For once in his life he was willing to work with someone else to make things right and this was the reaction he got?
He was already pulling the cap off a bottle of vodka at the wet bar in the family room when Kagura appeared. Her face seemed paler than normal, her eyes were glistening in unshed tears, and it was plain she had something on her mind.
"Sesshomaru?" She rubbed her hand across her swollen stomach, "We need to talk."
"Yes, we do." He agreed, sipping the clear liquid in his glass. "You start."
"I have not been the best wife/mate to you and you deserve to know why." She settled herself gingerly on a barstool and turned her eyes to his. "I was-- scared. All I could see was him-- always coming after me again-- Sesshomaru--"
"I can understand that. But I tried, Kagura-- I wanted to help. You wouldn't let me." He turned away from her, maintaining his posture as stoically as possible, willing back the emotion. "But you sure found comfort in someone's arms-- I smelled it on you."
"It was him, Sesshomaru." Kagura looked down when he whirled on her. "Naraku wanted to-- see his son. I had no choice..."
"You didn't let him did you?" Sesshomaru's voice should have been louder.
"Bankotsu was outside playing. He never knew--" Kagura could not bring her eyes to Sesshomaru's.
"You dared bring that bastard on this property with not only my children but my niece and nephew as well in the house?" His temper was rising, his eyes flashing as red as Kagura's. In a flash he' cleared the bar and grabbed her shoulders. "You dare disrespect me this way?!"
"Sesshomaru! Bankotsu is his son after all-"
"He is not! I knew an earth element demoness would not understand the blood ritual." Sesshomaru rubbed his forehead, the crescent moon on his head was beginning to pound. "The mark I gave him that night-- marked him as the son of the powerful Lord Inutashio. His scent, the star on his forehead, everything about him is marked as an heir. He does not belong to Naraku!"
Kagura started to cry, "He said if he smelled your scent on me again-- if he knew we'd been together again-- that he would --shatter the jewel."
"Damn that fucking jewel into the seventh level of fiery hell!" Sesshomaru slammed his fist into the wall, making a hole. He pulled back his hand and watched blood slowly drip to the floor. The scent of his own blood seemed to empower him, he turned to Kagura. "So what if he shatters it? What does it do to us?"
"I don't know. It seemed so important to your father to find it--"
"It's not important! Who gives a tinkering damn if that hanyou bastard wants to seal himself in the fucking Feudal Era? Let him-- the past has already happened, it does not affect us here. He won't shatter the damned jewel because he needs it." Sesshomaru's voice went softer. "All that matters is us-- here-- now--"
His embrace was unexpected, but it filled her with so much hope. She started to cry then, sobbing for the first time in such a long while. "I should have trusted you--"
"Do you now?" Sesshomaru pushed her far enough away to gaze into her eyes. She nodded. "Then never let that bastard come between us again."

Meanwhile in Inutashio's office:
"Old man will you relax?" Inuyasha hid his mirth behind a scowl. Gypsy was in the bedroom, he chose to face his father's wrath alone.
"Inuyasha! Do you have any idea what you did? You humiliated me in front of the whole demon council." Inutashio slammed his fist onto the desk.
Inuyasha shuddered a bit at that, thanking Kami he was too old to be spanked, because that was the same look he would always get before he'd get it. "I said I was sorry, but really-- you should have checked the tape."
"You should not have filmed yourself having sex in the living room!" Inutashio started laughing then, alarming the hanyou across the desk. "Gods above! I am very glad you moved in again, since you and Gypsy have moved in I haven't had a moments peace or boredom."
"Is that good?"
"I have made peace with Izayoi's passing." The taiyoukai lord stood and walked to the window. "She is at peace. But even so I have an empty place that no one can fill. I feel as if I would go crazy if it weren't for the constant distraction of my family around me."
"I miss momma to." Inuyasha looked down at the ground. "She was special-- that's kind of why I have stayed here so long. I wanna be near you and Sesshomaru."
Inutashio smiled at his son. "Thank you, son."
Inuyasha stood and quickly hugged his father tightly. "Thanks for not killing me dad--"
"You're welcome but don't make it a habit, eh?"
A scream rent the silence of the night and brought Inutashio and Inuyasha downstairs in record time. Sesshomaru was holding Kagura bridal style, his eyes registering a bit of fear. The scent of blood and aminiotic fluids hung heavy, she was clearly in labor.
_______________________
Kagura's labor was short, only four hours. At the stroke of Midnight she bore down on Sesshomaru's hand one last time, deafening everyone in the room with a shreik as the child entered the world. Gypsy looked up from her position behind the healer, Kaede.
"Sesshomaru, it's a boy! A fine little silver haired boy!" She announced, shooting a sleepy looking Inuyasha a tired smile.
Sesshomaru kissed Kagura first, then eagerly left her side to view his new son, whose cord he severed with his claw. His joy was evident on his face, a rare event indeed as he was handed the little bundle. Kagura stared down at the little infant, he was born smaller than her other children, and with a full head of silver hair and odd pink eyes. Sesshomaru had quietly hid his dissappointment when Rin and Jakotsu were born with black hair and he'd half expected this one to be born that way as well.
"What will you call him?" Inutashio hovered over the side of the bed, a grandfather's pride shining on his face.
"Hakundoshi." Sesshomaru replied, his eyes not leaving Kagura's, this child was the start of a whole new beginning.
"I can't wait till we see our son," Inuyasha wrapped his arms around Gypsy from behind, his hands moving along her stomach.
"It won't be long." Gypsy grinned. "It won't be long..."
__________________________
The night air wafted through the open window, lightly brushing over the pair of sleeping hanyous. Inuyasha's hand idly traced Gypsy's stomach drowsiness, he felt as if he were giving them both a sense of security as they slept, a feeling he'd obviously not given his son to start with. Somewhere in the night a child cried, Hakundoshi was an unusually quiet baby, only crying when it was nescessary to obtain a clean diaper or a bottle.
The nanny's door opened, and Inuyasha's ear flicked. He heard Sesshomaru whispering to her to go back to sleep. He had started tending to the children as much as Kagura did in the three weeks since his son was born. Under his hand the pup kicked hard and Inuyasha felt Gypsy shift then turn to face him, pressing her stomach against him, the tenth time in an hour she'd shifted positions. Both she and the pup seemed restless tonight, in fact her skin was sheened in a light perspiration.
'Great,' he muttered to himself. 'Now the brat can kick me for a while too.'
Inuyasha was asleep before he knew it, floating comfortably in the world that wasn't sleep but wasn't the world of the waking either, but what ever it was it was shattered with the sensation he was soaked with water. In fact, he was dreaming he was drowning and Gypsy was pulling him out by his hair. Struggling he flung himself awake and out of bed. Once he hit the floor he realized he WAS wet..
"Gypsy? What the hell? Why'd you wet me?" His jaw dropped then in understanding. Her eyes were wide, pained, and her hands grasped her stomach. When he head cleared the scent of her labor almost overtook him. "I'll get dad."
Inutashio rose at the first earth shaking pound that hit his door. He was sleep dazed and the first thought on his mind was that Naraku had rose from the ground again, then Inuyasha's voice cut through the fog. "DAD!"
"What the hell are you screaming about?" Sesshomaru turned to him quickly, slamming the nursery door a bit too hard and being greeted with Hakundoshi's wail.
"Gypsy's having a baby!" Inuyasha was still yelling.
Kagura and InuTashio rushed into the hall, Kagura shooing Jaken from his bed to get Kaede. Bankotsu and Jace peeked out of their bedroom doors, drawn to the sound of excitement, they shared a room most nights when they fell asleep watching movies or playing video games.
"Think mom's okay?" Jace looked up at his cousin who was a bit taller.
Bankotsu nodded, "Yeah, she's done this before. So this should be no different."
"I'm not sure I wanna baby brother-- daddy might forget all about me since I'm not really his and all." Jace suddenly looked sad.
"Nah, Inuyasha loves you as if you were his own. He'd never favor this one more just because it's related. Besides it's even better for you that your not Inuyasha's child." Bankotsu explained.
"Yeah? How?" Jace looked up at his cousin who was almost like a big brother even if there was no blood between them. So far the only good thing was that when he got into trouble now, Inuyasha was far more lenient than before and Kouga just let him do whatever- whenever.
"Well now that you're not the son of a hanyou, you're pretty much all demon. You're gonna be powerful, Jace. You may even develop a power of your own." Bankotsu rubbed his chin thoughtfully. He had treated the pup much better since discovering his bloodline. A scream made both the kids wince.
"Inuyasha! I hate you, I really fucking hate you and I never want another child with you-- do you hear me?" Gypsy was shrieking and he knew she was lying, she was speaking out of pain.
Inuyasha had learned the first two times that the most important thing he could do was sit on the bed behind her, and keep his family jewels away from her hands. "I know baby, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to do it again, but you're so beautiful--"
"Shut up, Inuyasha! You are not sorry, you wanted another baby!" She bore down one more time, "Gods above, get this thing-- please-- out of me."
Kaede's voice was like dry leaves on a fall day when she spoke at last. "Easy child, I see something. This baby is a good bit larger than Shiori was. Now get ready--- push--"
A few more hours past before any real progress was made. At last just as the sun was touching the horizon, Kaede gave the order to push once and hard. Gypsy's effort was so forceful, that even Inuyasha found himself pushing with her, his stomach muscles tightening involuntarily and painfully. He'd been doing that for the past few hours with her and it had left his thighs and stomach sore and tired. He was tired, sweaty, and scared.
Kaede saw the baby as he entered the world, her face unreadable, but her eyes widening. She spun around on the stool, the baby in a soft towel and Inuyasha saw his father's eyebrow go up in amusement. Even Sesshomaru leaned closer and went slack jawed.
"Father," Sesshomaru demanded, "How the hell is that possible? It's not possible!"
"It is...don't look at me. I have no idea how this happened. How very curious."
"Why ya'll looking at my kid like he's turned green?" Inuyasha snapped, annoyed that Gypsy had passed out in his lap and he was having to struggle to move without hurting her. He was finally free of her but his leg had gone to sleep and he couldn't stand properly so he settled for just sitting there looking pitifully at someone to bring the baby to him. He had a whole new respect for Gypsy now.
Inutashio took the baby and cradled it, his fingers brushing back the still damp white hair to reveal a face eerily like his fathers. He walked to the head of the bed and plopped himself beside his son, "See for yourself, son."
Taking the baby, Inuyasha pulled back the corners of the blanket and met the eyes of his new born son, golden like his own, and he swelled with pride at just how identical his son was to him. Then he noticed what had made Sesshomaru and InuTashio stop and gawk and for once he was speechless-- "But-- what the-- but how??? I don't have--- he's only a quarter demon and a hybrid inu ookami at that! AND IN PINK?!?!"
"I don't question genetics, Inuyasha. I still question why Sesshomaru's markings do not match mine or why yours are jagged." Inutashio smiled down at his grandson, tracing the light pink demon markings that started at his hairline and made small lightning bolts across his eyes and to his cheekbones. "They sort of remind you of Jakotsu's don't they?"
"Yeah, kinda." Inuyasha smiled, pressing his nose into the tiny infants neck to imprint the scent into his senses. Emotions flooded through him, how he'd been too young to do this with his first son, the reason he'd missed the super strong ookami scent. He choked down the lump in his throat and looked up at his father. "Gypsy and I wanna call him Haseo."
Kaede took the infant from Inuyasha, "Rest child. You're both going to need it."
Inuyasha nodded and left the room, heading for the living room. The air that circled around him chilled him a little through his sweat soaked wife-beater, that and sweat pants was all he had time to put on since he slept nude. He grabbed a bottle of water from the refridgerator and tossed himself on the couch, yanking the afghan on the back of the couch over himself. It was only then that the emotions came, and his tears soaked the pillow under his head.
He was happy, he was sad, he was confused, and most of all he was tired which amplified it all ten times. When Jace was born he'd been so young-- so foolish-- he had not known what to do and therefore he'd missed finding Kouga's scent on the pup at birth before his constant handling changed it. The poor pup was being cheated out of his place as Inuyasha's first born son-- hell, he wasn't even the first born anymore. That was Shiori. For a moment he considered giving him back to Kouga, signing over his rights and allowing him to live the life he deserved. But then-- no... he'd never do that.
Only an hour later, Inuyasha went back upstairs, looking and feeling like he'd never slept at all. Gypsy was still out cold, the kids were still in bed, and he had no clue as to where the family was. Looking into the tiny crib he noticed his new son was awake, his eyes wide open and focusing on the sun shining through the window.
"Kami, you're so tiny you might break." Inuyasha lifted the little infant into his arms and moved to the window. "See that? That's the sunrise of your very first day on this Earth, Haseo."
The baby cooed in response, his tiny nose working to pull in his fathers scent. He'd been bottle fed the first meal since his mother was out of it, and the effects were catching up. Inuyasha wrinkled his nose at a scent he knew too well, "Oh for heaven's sakes! Ya know your sister is going to HAVE to go to the potty now, I ain't changing you both. Where's the nanny at when I need her?"
His complaints were only half hearted though, and the child giggled at him as he was changed. Inuyasha observed the tiny child as he worked, even with demon markings he looked a lot more like him than even Shiori. The only thing that perplexed him was that with such delicate features and pink demon markings it was hard to discern the sex of the child, and he just knew this would cause a shitload of trouble when he was older.
"Inuyasha?" Gypsy's voice was weak and he turned around quickly. "The baby--"
"He's right here, Gypsy. Hold on--" he hurriedly wrapped the baby in a blanket and brought him to her. "Look, isn't he perfect?"
She smiled and craddled the tiny bundle, instatly pressing her face into his neck and inhaling his scent. The pup recognized her instantly and grabbed a handfull of her hair. "What name did you decide on?"
"Haseo." Inuyasha reclined on the soft bed beside her. "I have no idea why he has pink markings.."
"They're adorable!" Gypsy kissed her sons head and frowned a bit, "Aww, I was hoping he'd have your ears."
Inuyasha shrugged, "Better for him if he don't. He's gonna have enough trouble as it is, being the child of two hanyous."
Inuyasha watched as Gypsy nursed the pup for the first time, he made slurping and growling noises that called forth memories of Inuyasha eating ramen. Outside, Jace and Bankotsu were peeking in the door, curious to see the new baby. Jace let out a small whimper when he saw his half sibling, being fed at his mothers breast which was shielded from his view by Inuyasha, but it was pretty obvious what was going on.
Jace looked up at his cousin with the most serious expression. "This is my weekend-- to go with-- Ko-- I mean dad."
"So?" Bankotsu wasn't being a smartass, for once, he just wanted to know.
"What if they don't come get me this time? What if they leave me there? They already got a son-- what did they want me for?" Jace looked like he was going to cry so Bankotsu held up his hand.
"What exactly are you planning, Jace?"
"I'm running away." The ookami cub said determinedly. "I'll run away where no one can find me. You comin'?"
Bankotsu raised an eyebrow, imitating his father. "What in the world for?"
"Because, um, we're like brothers and thats what brothers do?" Jace said with a firm nod. Bankotsu blinked, he couldn't argue with reason and anyways it was a good excuse for some adventure. "We'll need supplies."
Sneaking around the mansion was easy enough with everyone hanging over the new born hanyou, even Jace and Bankotsu went in to see the new family member, and soon the pair had filled their backpacks with fruit, candy, and left overs from dinner. Jace got his favorite blanket, apparently ready to go into the wild frontier.
"Where are we going?" Bankotsu asked, logically.
"Um, I don't know. We can just start walking till we find a good place to stop?" Jace was using Inuyasha logic here, just do what feels good.
"I know where theres an old shack out by the lake at the edge of this property, I don't even know if daddy knows where it is." Bankotsu said proudly. He'd accidentally found it one day while out looking for Rin.
Jace nodded, a determined look on his face, "Let's go."
"Rin will go to." Came a happy voice from behind the two boys, making their teeth go on edge.
"No!" Bankotsu snapped at his sister. "We ain't taking no girls."
"Yeah!" Jace's ears flattend but he didn't know why exactly.
"Oh yes you will!" Rin's voice sounded shriller than normal, ready to cry actually. "Or Rin will tell daddy and.."
Bankotsu blanched white, "She's right, Jace. If she tells dad-- we're toast."
Rin grinned with satisfaction. She knew her brother's only fear was his step-father and getting into trouble with him, and she used it to her advantage without mercy.
Jace and Bankotsu nodded at the same time, Bankotsu speaking out, "Then-- get your stuff, Rin. And be quick about it."

Inuyasha stared at Gypsy, who was moving around rather quickly in the kitchen, "You sure you should be up?"
"Oh please, Inuyasha, I'm not some weak human bitch who has to stay in bed for months after a birth. One good nap and I'm good to go." She tore the wrapper off a store bought pie and dug in without bothering to cut it. "This is good, you should have some."
"Are you-- gonna cut it?" Inuyasha raised an eyebrow.
"No, there's another in there." She motioned to the fridge.
He shook his head in dismay, Gypsy's appetitie never failed to amaze him. Sesshomaru peeked intot he informal kitchen and looked around, he was looking for Rin. He had told her to stay in the mansion but so far she was no where to be found.
"Looking for something?" Inuyasha looked up from the other whole key lime pie.
"I'm tracking Rin, her scent lead me here-- then it stops. She was told not to leave the inside of the mansion but I can't find her." He replied, tapping his nail on his chin, he was growing angry.
"Maybe she went out to play with Jace and Bankotsu. I saw them heading out earlier." Inuyasha shrugged, he'd seen them making a run for the woods but that wasn't unusual, the thought of them running away never entered his brain at the moment.
"They surely wouldn't take her with them, would they?" Sesshomaru's brows knotted together again.
The scent of a strange demon permeated the air, nut as strange as it was-- it still carried a familiar essence. Inuyasha looked up, "The hell--"
Inutashio's voice boomed down the foyer, along with another male voice just as intimidating, bringing the occupant's of the kitchen out to see. Inutashio was hugging another man who was just as tall and with hair just as silver, although a little wilder, he had small magenta demon marks that ran from the bottom of his eyes to his chin.
"'Tashio!" The strange man pulled out of the hug, "Bet you hoped to never see me again!"
"Jiraiya, you know that is not true. I gave you an open invite anytime, but you were too busy chasing women." Inutashio looked up at the other three members of his family. "Kids, I want you to meet my half brother, Jiraiya Nagashi. You remember me telling you about your long lost uncle! This is Sesshomaru, Inuyasha, Inuyasha's mate-- Gypsy."
Sesshomaru stepped forward first, "Yes father has told us much about you. Is it true that your a writer as well as a Ninja trainer?"
Jiraiya nodded vigourously, "Sure am! I write books of adult themes and I train in this village in Japan-- but all that bored me stiff after visiting L.A. three months back for a week. I moved as soon as my last class was ready to graduate."
"Impressive, so then you will be staying here?" Inuyasha stepped forward to shake his uncles hand, shocked that there was actually another hanyou in their family.
Jiraiya nodded, "Just till I find a job and get on my feet, if it's ok with you father?"
Inutashio nodded, following his half brother's line of sight to see why his mouth was dropped open. Kagura and Gypsy stood side by side behind the boys, both curious and neither quite willing to step up to introduce themselves.
"Who are these two lovely ladies?" he moved over, a suave lecherous look on his face that reminded one of Mirouku.
"I'm Gypsy," Gypsy offered her hand as did Kagura. "I am Inuyasha's mate."
"I'm Kagura, Sesshomaru's mate." Her ruby eyes went to the floor, not really sure if he'd like that piece of information known.
"Such beauty, so exotic. Are you a ookami, Gypsy?" His eyes glazed over, being half inu-demon he could sense her heritage.
"Hanyou ookami." She replied lightly.
"And you Kagura-- such beautiful eyes. I'll tell you two what, if you two ever and I mean ever want to leave these two, look me up." His tone was deadly serious, arousing two growls from the two demons behind him.
Inutashio stepped up to diffuse the situation, his boys weren't yet used to his half brother's half hearted flirting. "Why don't we get the kids, I'd like Jiraiya to see my grandchildren."
"I have no idea where Rin and Bankotsu are!" Sesshomaru exclaimed, suddenly reminded of why he'd been in here to start with. "Kagura go get Hakundoshii and Jakotsu."
"What do you mean you can't find Bankotsu and Rin?" Kagura looked stricken with fear.
"Oh gimmie a break, Sessh, I told you they're probably playing with Jace. I'll go take a look." Inuyasha turned on his heel and almost tripped over Shiori. "Damn it, kid you're gonna make me break my neck."
While Jiraiya met the other kids and settled himself on the plush sofa in the living room, Inuyasha searched for the kids, but had no luck. Bankotsu had brought up the problem to Jace-- their fathers were literally half dog and track them down with little or no problem. Jace solved that with a bit of Kitsune magic he'd learned from his friend, Shippou, to cover their scent.
The lack of scent in the air made Inuyasha uneasy. He should be able to smell them right off because they were forbidden to go off the property. Clearly they had, he moved into the woods, once again worried at the lack of any trace of the children. Cold fear churned his guts, the fears flashing through his mind were all of Naraku doing unthinkable things to the pups if he caught them alone. He thought about calling out to them but decided against it, if they had been abducted he didn't want to give away his presence.
Turning on his heel he went back to the house, he needed back up.
____________________
Three hours later the sun was setting in the West and still no sign of the pups. Inutashio had not even been able to pick up a trace. Panic had set in on Inuyasha jours before, Sesshomaru was visibly perturbed but not in a full fledged panic yet, and Inutashio was slowly slipping into a rage. Jiraiya had joined them, but nothing seemed to work an it was growing dark.
"It isn't logical that they could vanish without a trace of scent." Inutashio reasoned. His eyes dared someone to freak out at his next statement, "Even if the worst has happened we'd still smell blood or something."
"Kitsune magic," Jiraiya offered. "Do they have kitsune friends?"
Inuyasha stopped chewing his bottom lip long enough to nod. "Shippou and his family live just down the street, he and Jace are inseperable."
