100 years later…

 

A silver haired man was sitting on a tree called the God Tree in the small, private garden that was connected to his bedroom. He closed his eyes and let the sweet fragrances of honeysuckle go through his nose. He opened his eyes when a servant called his name.

 

“You Majesty, Sir InuYasha, King Hojo's messenger Koga, is here,” said the servant.

 

InuYasha sighed, it's been awhile since he talked and visited his longtime friend. He heard that he recently married a beauty named Kagome. He heard that her loveliness matched no other.

 

`Well,' he chuckled, `I have to see it to believe it.'

 

He jumped down and walked into his palace to meet Koga and hear what he had to say.

 

He arrived at his office and saw the messenger sitting on a chair. When Koga saw him, he stood up and bowed.

 

“What do you need to say?” asked InuYasha as he walked to his table.

 

“Well, ahem, Sir InuYasha, King Hojo would like you to come to his palace and meet his new wife,” answered Koga.

 

InuYasha nodded and told him that to tell his friend that he will be there in a couple days and dismissed him.

 

When Koga was gone, InuYasha stood up and paced around his room. What should he bring to the newlyweds? He finally decided on two white horses. He knew that Hojo loved to ride horses and his wife.

 

InuYasha walked to the stables. When the stablemen saw him, they bowed.

 

“Your presence here is greatly appreciated. What do you need?” asked one of the stablemen.

 

“I need horses, white horses. They are for the High King and Queen. I need them by tomorrow,” said InuYasha.

 

The stablemen bowed and told their prince that they understood and that the horses will be available for the next day. He walked out and went back to his palace.

 

He ordered his servants to pack his things by tomorrow. They scurried away and did what they were told to do.

 

InuYasha walked back to his private garden and jumped back onto his tree. He let memories go through his mind. Memories of his mother and father back when they were alive. They died when he was young from food poisoning. They looked for the killer for a week and they finally found the person at a cave. It was in fact his cousin. His cousin wanted the throne and he was executed the next day. They made sure that the young prince wouldn't be threatened.

 

InuYasha wouldn't be king until he is twenty-one and he is now eighteen.

 

`That was eight years ago. Time flies by so fast,' he mused. He looked up and watched clouds go by. It always interested him how clouds can transform themselves into different shapes. Also, how it seems they go by slowly, but they actually go by fast.

 

InuYasha wished that he could change his position from being royal, to be a regular guy who can walk the streets without worrying if someone is going to attack him. He wished that he could find someone that likes who he is, not having money and owning a portion of the country.

 

After being on the tree for a few hours, he jumped down and went into his bedroom. He stripped off his clothing and put on pajama bottoms and went to sleep. He had a big day tomorrow. He is finally going to see his friend and his friend's wife.
