The spies came back in the middle of the night. The king was still up. He couldn't sleep when this was bothering him. He might turn at every second, bothering his wife. But the queen was up too. She was going to stand by him until this was over.

The spies came running into the hall and buckled onto their knees before them. They were gasping for air.

“Tell me, what did you see?” asked King Hojo.

“We saw, no, we heard that he is going war with you so you can die and he will get the throne,” one of them said.

“I swear he is telling the truth since I heard the same thing,” the other said.

“And I told you this before all of this happened,” mumbled Kagome under her breath so the king wouldn't hear her.

Hojo flinched. So, what Kagome said was true. Since he heard t from another source it must. Well, if it is a war he wants, and then he'll get one. Shippo betrayed him and he would pay the price as a man.

“Fine, he'll get one, but he will fail miserably. I am the greatest swordsman there is and all of my enemies fell at my feet. But I will spare my son's life. I'll put him in the dungeon for as long as I am alive and my wife,” Hojo vowed.

Hojo slept for three hours that night. In the early break of day, he went to get suit up for the battle. Kagome helped him. She knew in the pit of her stomach that this will be the last day to see her husband's face. She started to blubber. When Hojo caught this, he held her.

“Don't cry my flower, I will be back by your side and we will rejoice the victory. I will be back in your arms and we will make sweet love. I promise I will be back so we can grow old together and see Japan's children growing up. I love you my stunning flower, remember that,” he promised and kissed her passionately.

“I love you too, my king. Remember that,” she whispered in his ear when they broke apart. She held him tightly to her heart.

She followed him to entrance of the castle and went on his white horse that was already equipped for combat. Everyone waved good-bye once they started off.

Once Kagome saw Hojo was out of sight, she broke down. She knew she was going to be a sixteen-year-old widow.
~~~
While Hojo was on the trail, Shippo's scout appeared in front of them with a letter. It said that he, the king, was well on his way to meet him and go to the clearing that was by Mount Fuji. He crumbled it up and told the scout to tell his son that he will meet him there. The scout ran off.
~~~
They were at the clearing. Each camp was at least a mile apart. Each warrior was discussing what to do once they were at arms with each other.

Another scout came by at Hojo's camp. This letter told him that they would battle each other at sunrise, no later. The king sighed and told him that he guess that will do. The scout went back to the Shippo's camp.

It was sunrise; war. All of the soldiers were arming themselves. They lined up, facing each other and started marching. The king was in the lead and it with Shippo. Kikyo was staying back in the camp. She was going to witness the clash of all clashes. It was going to be father versus son. Who would have known that this would happen in life?

They were just a few yards away when they were started to run at each other. All of the men were yelling, pulling out their weapons as they glistened in the early morning sun's rays. The sound of swords clashing was in the air. Men's blood was dripping on the ground. You can smell death starting to fume in just minutes when the war started.

Shippo and Hojo was killing their enemies left to right as they were trying to get to each other. When they finally did, they locked eyes.

“I can't believe you would do such a thing,” Hojo growled, baring his teeth.

“I was never at your side you fool. You are easy to deceive since you trust people too quickly,” Shippo snapped.

“You were my son, I trusted you,” Hojo snapped back.

“Ha! I live with you sister, my mother. Maybe you should have checked our backgrounds before you embraced me with open arms,” said Shippo.

Hojo growled. He put his hand on the hilt of his sword and drew it out. He raised it in the air as the sunbeams twinkled about it. Before he brought it down, Shippo drew his sword out and swung it at his father. Hojo jumped back ahead of time and swung his at his son. The sword was met by a loud clang. These were the first moments of the confrontation.

Swing after swing, cuss word after cuss word, father and son were still at each other's throat. Many soldiers that had their lord's back were still fighting. The battlefield was a blood fest. There were dead bodies all around them. You could smell the rotting corpses, frying under the sun's strong rays.

“You will never get the throne!” yelled Hojo as he swung his blade by Shippo's throat.

Shippo bent backwards and lifted his sword so he could prevent his father's sword coming down at him. “You are wrong, I am younger than you and more powerful than you think. I will get it, no matter what.”

Both men were actually equally matched. Perhaps Hojo's talented swordsmanship genes were passed down to Shippo. No once calculated how long the sword fighting took. There weren't many men left on the field. The men took a breather and decided to watch the two men fight each other. It seemed to be more entertaining.

Hojo was getting out of breath. He never fought a man equal to his own capacity. Although, Shippo still had the energy to keep on going. The son took pity on his father and stepped back so he could catch his breath.

Hojo was kneeling on the ground. Shippo thought it would be the perfect moment to taunt him. “Do you know what I am going to do once I prevail? I am going to fuck your wife, yes I will. Imagine her ass by my face, going up and down when my dick is inside her. I am going to fondle her breasts when they are dangling below her. Imagine her screaming my name, not yours. Yes, she will be my wife and queen once you are in the ground, old man. Just accept it, you will fail.” Shippo took the moment to stab his sword into Hojo's stomach.

This made him more confident to make sure what Shippo said would not come true. He will not make his wife put in a position. When Shippo's back was away and walking back to his camp smirking along with his men, Hojo gathered all of the energy he had left and ran to him, holding his wound. He plunged his sword into his son's back and he fell flat on his face.

“If I die, you will die with me. No one will rule Japan in an evil way that you might do. No one will have sex with my wife except me,” muttered Hojo as he fell next to Shippo. He started to spurt blood from his mouth and stopped breathing. The boy followed his dad soon after. The kingdom just lost their king.
