Fifteen years later, a boy with ebony hair and amber eyes was looking at a tombstone that was placed four days after he was born.

It was the anniversary of his mother's death and his birthday. It was a day to mourn and celebrate. Cai sometimes gets confused on either to mourn or celebrate.

“Father, tell me again about mother,” he asked his father.

King InuYasha walked beside him and smiled at all the wonderful memories he shared with his lover. “Ah, she was a woman that everyone called a flower. She was beautiful and compassionate, and kindhearted. But, she can be venomous as a cobra if you do something stupid. Other than that, she was nature's gift.”

Cai smiled. It was amazing to him that he can remember all the way back to when he was born. He can picture his mother holding him while she was taking her last breaths of life. He can remember the last words he told him. In his dreams, he can see his mother walking with him and talking with him. He guessed she was visiting his dreams from the heavens.

Cai nodded and turned to go back to the horses. InuYasha walked closer to the grave and knelt before it. “Everything is all right now. I raised him like how you would raise him, with love and care. He is a fine man and you should be proud. I want you to know that I love you and I will meet you in heaven soon, you have my word on it.” He kissed it and hugged it. Then, he met up with his offspring.

As soon they were gone in the distance, Miroku appeared. He visited the gravesite every year once the two men left. He would always place a crystal rose on the ground and leave. The rose would disappear once the rain falls. Then, he would disappear back to his domain, although, this time was different. He stayed a little longer, looking at the stone.

“My lady, it is said in the stars, that you will come back one day to help defeat when the new darkness arises. I guess you have courage and bravery inside of you that has yet to be unleashed. I guess there are more than the eye can see. I can feel that the journey has yet to begin.”
