WARNING: SLIGHT LEMON ALERT! MORE LEMONS LATER.

Sesshoumaru slammed himself bodily against the door when he found it was locked and he couldn’t turn the handle. “Kagome! Kagome, don’t do this! Please!” It wasn’t like him to beg, but that was the least of his worries as he slammed harder into the door. A loud cracking sound could be heard as the wooden door splintered, then burst open, pulling half the wall along with it. Sesshoumaru’s eyes scrambled furiously around the room until he spotted Kagome on the bed, her eyes closed and blood gushing out from a deep fresh wound. A piece of glass was clutched tightly in her fingers, and she looked pale. Her breathing was shallow, almost non-existent, and when Sesshoumaru leaned down to listen to her heart, he could tell it was slowing down fast. She was loosing way too much blood.

“Help!” He cried, running out into the hall and screaming it at the top of his lungs. “She needs help! SOMEONE COME HELP HER, DAMMIT! NOW! SHE’S BLEEDING!!!” No one came.

Sesshoumaru franticly searched the halls; they were devoid of any form of life whatsoever. Sprinting desperately down the halls, he turned and skidded to a halt in front of the desk in the office. “I need help.” He said, slamming his fists down on the desk roughly. “Now. Someone is bleeding. She’s going to die if you don’t come and help her. Please!” He was sweating, though when it had started, he didn’t know.

The old woman at the desk rolled her eyes. “Young man, I don’t know what you’re trying to pull, but I’ll let you know that each night someone new comes and tells me that, and each night, they’re pulling my leg. If you think I’m going to believe you for one second, you’re wrong. You can forget it. I’m not falling for your stupid adolescent jokes anymore.” With that, the woman glared down at the paperwork she was trying to complete. Sesshoumaru tore it away.

“Listen, lady. I am not some sick person trying to get off on your confusion. But if you don’t come and help me, right now, I swear to god I’m going to tear your throat out if this girl doesn’t make it. I SWEAR TO FUCKING GOD!

The woman gasped as the paper was ripped away, and quickly scuttled to her feet and scurried down the hall on Sesshoumaru’s direction. By the time they got there, Kagome’s chest was barely rising, and her brow was sweating profusely. Sesshoumaru held his breath as the woman looked at Kagome’s prone body in shock, before pulling out a walkie-talkie and screaming into it. “Emergency, code 3352533. I repeat, code 3352533! EMERGENCY! I REPEAT, EMERGECY!” Releasing the button, the woman ran out of the room and down the hall, leaving Sesshoumaru alone to look at Kagome.

Five minutes later, three men ran into the room with a stretcher. Two of them rushed to Kagome and picked her body off of the bed, lying her gently on the stretcher. Another glared at Sesshoumaru as he approached him. You could tell by the look on his face that he hated doing this job. Sesshoumaru would almost bet money that the three men had stood together in the office playing rock, paper, scissors to decide which one was going to be doing the questioning. He could care less at a moment like this. He just wanted to get this done and over with so he could go see Kagome.

Why has she gone and done this to herself? Why? The question ran circles in Sesshoumaru’s head, giving him a headache as he tried to figure it out. The man stopped and sighed deeply before asking Sesshoumaru the expected questions. “What has happened here, young man?”

Sesshoumaru shook his head, but quickly recited what had happened from the time he had entered the room he now shared with no one to the current time, secretly leaving out the part of trying and failing to become unconscious. The man nodded and sighed but said nothing as Sesshoumaru recounted what happened, once in a while stopping to write something down in the pad he was carrying with him. Meanwhile, the two men lifted the stretcher and quickly left the room, talking quickly about the blood they had in stock and wondering if they would have the right type for Kagome.

Three days later, and the only person that had been allowed into the room was Kagome’s mother, whom Kagome refused to see. Each time, Kagome looked away and didn’t speak a word from the time her mother entered the room until the time her mother left the room. Sango had come twice for a visit now, to no success. Sesshoumaru waited daily outside Kagome’s room until the time he would be allowed to enter, skipping classes and important meetings that he was supposed to be in. Surely this would add another couple of weeks before his release, and Kagome’s relapse had already added an additional five months to her treatment, two of which she would be in the isolation stage. Luckily, this stage would not be set into action until she left the hospital wing, and it would be another couple of weeks before then.

A week had been knocked off of the time that had been added to Sesshoumaru’s stay here, since he had been the one who had reported the incident. It had been lucky that he had been there in time. The directors of the facility had decided that putting Kagome in a room away from Sesshoumaru after they had bonded so had been an unwise decision, and had immediately put her back into the room they shared, being sure to confiscate any disturbing music and anything that could possibly cause harm. The room now looked oddly barren without much of its contents. But personal belongings were a privilege that people worked their way up to, and Sesshoumaru had agreed to take everything out as long as he got Kagome back.

Sesshoumaru was so enclosed in his thoughts, his eyes glazed over, that he didn’t even notice when a short blonde had exited Kagome’s room and was waving her hand in his face. “Sir? Sir, do you know a man named Sesshoumaru?”

Sesshoumaru blinked as his eyes focused. Nodding, he raised an eyebrow. “Uh…The young lady in there…she is asking for a man named Sesshoumaru. Do you know who he is? I must find him immediately. She is practically hyperventilating.”

Sesshoumaru allowed a slight smirk to flutter across his face as he stepped forward. “That would be me.” He said, stepping into the room. What met his eyes nearly broke his heart. Kagome was laying on the bed panting, an I.V. stuck in her arm. Her face was a sickly color of pale, and she was sweating slightly.

“Kagome?” Sesshoumaru edged into the room, looking around for a spot he could sit. When he found none, he stood limply leaning against the wall, staring at Kagome. She smiled weakly at him and patted her bed, scooting aside so he could seat himself beside her. Sesshoumaru gazed at her questioningly before slowly striding over to sit on the bed. “Kagome…” he sighed. Kagome whimpered as Sesshoumaru placed two fingers under her chin and raised it so she was looking directly in his eyes. Slowly, Sesshoumaru leaned in to her, such sadness filling his mournful eyes that it almost made Kagome cry. “I was afraid I was going to lose you.” He whispered, his lips brushing softly against her own with each word.

A single tear slipped down Kagome’s cheek as she raised her hands and held his face close to her own. “I’m sorry, Sesshoumaru. So sorry…”

Sesshoumaru leaned closer, careful to position his weight on the bed beside her and not directly on top of her. Kagome’s eyes fluttered closed as Sesshoumaru gently lapped at her opened lips before slowly entering her mouth. Her tongue weakly batted against his as he almost devoured her mouth in one of the most gentle kisses Kagome had ever experienced. It sent shivers down her spine, and made her toes tingle. Her hands slid to curl in Sesshoumaru’s hair as he gently deepened the kiss, allowing a little more of his weight to lean against her. His body was in a very uncomfortable position, but he ignored it as he held Kagome’s chin and watched her reaction through his half closed eyes.

Finally, when his lungs were burning, he pulled reluctantly away from the kiss, leaning his forehead against her own and closing his eyes. “Kagome,” he moaned breathlessly. “How am I going to live without you for two months? How?”

Kagome sighed. “Oh, Sesshoumaru. I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to…” She cut herself off before she finished her sentence. Sesshoumaru wrapped his arms tightly around her waist and he moved his body so that he was settled comfortably in between her legs. He allowed all of his weight to crush her, and Kagome shuddered at the contact. “What were you thinking?” Sesshoumaru mumbled, his lips coming ever closer to Kagome’s. Her heady scent was intoxicating, he couldn’t keep his hands off. He didn’t want to wear her out, but if he didn’t do something about his problem soon, he was probably going to die.

Kagome sighed sadly. “I still have to stay with Miroku, don’t I? Oh, Sesshoumaru! I’m sorry. This is all my fault!”

Sesshoumaru opened his eyes and looked deeply into Kagome’s. “It’s not.” He said firmly. “And don’t you ever think that.” Deciding it would be easier to give her something to look forward to, Sesshoumaru jumped into the subject of the room change. “And you know what?” He asked, kissing her nose lightly, then nipping at it softly.

Kagome raised an eyebrow, then attacked his throat, moaning. “You don’t even…ah! Have to stay with Miro-ah! Right there!”

Kagome grinned against his neck, right below his ear, and slowly swirled her tongue. Sesshoumaru’s eyes closed in pleasure as his hands roamed up and down her sides. Kagome’s answer was muffled and she stopped every word or so to swirl her tongue around the sensitive spot on Sesshoumaru’s neck. “You mean..*swirl*..I get to..*swirl*..stay with you?*swirl*”

Sesshoumaru sighed and pulled away from Kagome’s tongue. “Yes. We can’t do this, Kagome.” He added sadly. “We’ll get too attached. You have two months of isolation. I won’t be able to last that long without you. I might end up doing something crazy.”

Kagome grinned. “Well, maybe you won’t have to.”

Sesshoumaru glared at her playfully. “Do not tease me, wench.”

“Wench? Is that what I am, now?” Kagome asked flirtatiously, clutching his package lightly through his pants, then swirling her tongue against the sensitive part of his neck. Sesshoumaru let out a guttural moan and leaned heavily against her, sucking and licking at her neck in turn. Kagome nipped at Sesshoumaru’s neck, then pulled her lips away reluctantly. She had to tell him this before they got too caught up in their actions. “You can sneak out of your room. Rin tells me that the guards on duty only watch television. They won’t be watching you. And I can’t say that I won’t miss you, either, because we both know that isn’t true.”

Sesshoumaru pulled away from her neck and looked deeply into her mischievous eyes, grinning evilly. Sitting up, he pulled Kagome onto his lap and kissed her deeply, being sure to place her directly on top of his hard rod. Kagome moaned and squirmed, but returned the kiss vigorously.

This was the scene Kagome’s mother walked in on ten minutes later.

Sesshoumaru was the first to hear the loud gasp from the door, followed by the slamming of it. Kagome jerked away quickly, looking guiltily at the woman who stood in the doorframe. “Oh, goodness.” The woman murmured, her hand placed over her rapidly beating heart. “You two gave me quite a scare. Thank goodness it’s only you, Sesshoumaru.”

Sesshoumaru looked curiously from Kagome to her mother, but Kagome was avoiding his gaze, and her mother was looking expectantly at him as though he already knew what she was talking about. “Uh…I think I should go.”

“No, please don’t!” Both women cried out in unison. “Please stay,” Kagome breathed in his ear, glaring at her mother from over his shoulder. Sesshoumaru pulled her closer to him and placed a lingering kiss on her lips. “I’ll be sure to visit you tonight.” He said, winking and putting an emphasis in ‘tonight’.

Kagome grinned at him and wiggled on top of his length before reluctantly pulling herself from his lap. Sesshoumaru’s eyes closed momentarily as she got off of his lap, then he quickly stood, walking to the door. Stopping, he blew a kiss to Kagome, who pretended to catch it and blow one back before he left the room, the door closing securely behind him.

Kagome sighed when she was alone with her mother, then leaned against the headboard and was silent for the whole hour and a half her mother remained there.

The blonde nurse entered Kagome’s room a few minutes after Kagome‘s mother left, placing a large tray on her lap and going around the bed to change the bandages on Kagome’s slowly healing wound. “Good news!” The woman said brightly as she wrapped fresh white linen around the healing injury. At Kagome’s arched eyebrow, the woman continued on, jabbering away as if they were old school friends. “We’re going to take that I.V. out tonight. I just hope you do well, because if you don’t, we’ll have to put it back. And that would be a shame. There’s a lot of things you can’t do when you have an I.V. in your arm.” The girl winked at Kagome, and Kagome became suspicious.

Grinning widely, the woman confided in Kagome. “Sesshoumaru asked me if I could leave the door unlocked tonight. He says he’d like to come in and snuggle you. But don’t tell him I told you, or it’d be my head. And he’s such a gentleman, too. It would be a shame to make him angry.” A dazed look crossed the woman’s face, and Kagome was thankful that the conversation was over. She could hardly wait for tonight.

Kagome was becoming worried. It was after midnight, and though the nurse had left the door to her room unlocked, there had still been no sign of Sesshoumaru. She was rapidly loosing faith in what he said. Just then, there was a soft knock on her door. Kagome silently stood and walked to it, peering out the small, rectangular window into a pair of eyes that looked back at her, a hint of longing tingeing them. Kagome grinned and pulled open the door, stepping into his ready embrace. Closing her eyes, she snuggled into his chest. He smelled different somehow, and Kagome liked the scent rather much.

She was surprised when Sesshoumaru effortlessly picked her up and walked with her in his arms over to the bed. The room was dark and the only light was moonlight spilling in through the half-closed blinds. The odd light filtering through made everything look different, but it was exciting. Sesshoumaru groaned as he put Kagome down on the bed and lay beside her, tucking her body closely to his own. “Kagome?”

“Hmm?”

“I’v e got something for you.” Kagome looked curiously at Sesshoumaru as he pulled something from his pocket. Then he held his hand out, palm up, with a small black box in the middle of it, much like the box an engagement ring is held in. Kagome’s mouth fell open. “Open it.” Sesshoumaru urged.

Kagome didn’t need to be told twice. Smiling, she snatched the box out of his hands and opened it slowly. It was a beautiful ring, silver with Sesshoumaru’s initials, a plus sign, and Kagome’s initials beneath them, with two dolphins circling the words, forming a heart with their bodies.

S.T.

K.H.

Kagome sighed in admiration. “Oh, Sesshoumaru!” she squealed, pulling the ring from it’s box and slipping it onto her finger where an engagement ring usually goes. Sesshoumaru grinned widely. “You’ll have to move that someday.” He hinted.

“What? What do you mean? I’m NEVER taking this off.” Sesshoumaru smirked and indicated the finger that the ring was on. “I can think of a much more beautiful ring that I would like to go on that particular finger.”

Kagome gasped. “Sesshoumaru!” Flinging herself into his arms, she squeezed him tightly. “I love you.” The whisper was nearly inaudible, and yet Sesshoumaru caught it.

“I love you, too. More than you know, Kagome. More than you know.” Sesshoumaru murmured, pulling Kagome as tight to his body as humanly possible without crushing her ribs. If he could have his way, they would remain this way forever, locked in an embrace of first love, and first realization that everything would be all right as long as they had each other.

A.N: Well, that’s all for this time. I’m thinking about putting a LEMON in the next chapter, so be prepared, just in case! ^_^
