InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Reflection ❯ Chapter 1

[ X - Adult: No readers under 18. Contains Graphic Adult Themes/Extreme violence. ]

This is short and sweet. A one chap to kind of test the waters, it's been a while since I have written anything. Standard issue disclaimers apply; I don't own anything or anyone… etc.

The thoughts are kind of mature and citrus-y so if you don't like don't read.

The blue black sky was as picturesque as ever, dotted with hundreds of white stars and the faint sliver of a waxing moon. The air was warm and a gentle breeze caressed the land sending shivers through the soft green grass and the trees. The night was utterly perfect, peaceful and still, with the only noise to be heard being the soft breathing of a slumbering band travelers and the occasional exasperated sigh of one profoundly irritated inu-hanyou.

He loathed nights like this, every night was getting to be like this. A night that seemed perfect and peaceful with no distractions and no visible end, a night that gave him far too much time to think on the things that hurt him the most. And that damnable breeze was always wafting the soft fragrance of her to his nose, putting another knot in this already tangled web of his emotions. Glancing down from his perch he spied through the darkness the peaceful sleeping form of Kagome.

This strange sweet girl crept her way into his heart with her endless love and acceptance. She found her way in to a closed heart that had steeled itself against the cruel world and the cruel woman that betrayed him.

Kikyo. InuYasha was not sure what hurt him more, the fact that Kikyo, despite everything, sill wants to drag him to hell with her…or that he continuously goes to her thereby destroying Kagome bit by painful little bit.
He still loved her, and would never stop. Kikyo was such an important person in his life and even though she now walked this land as a cold and bitter clay doll, she was still as much as ever someone that he cherished.

But everything is so much different now. It was true, he did love Kikyo, but he was also falling in love with Kagome. He couldn't help it, and he felt guilty, Kagome deserves the whole of his heart and that was something he couldn't give right now. But still, she was so sweet and innocent, and that made her so alluring. Kagome was so unaffected by the evils of the world, she was pure and kind and far, far, far too good for InuYasha.

He was falling deeply in love with her. InuYasha sighed heavily and closed his eyes.
He wished he wasn't, she would only get hurt at this point and her pain was his own but he felt it tenfold and doused in guilt. And the thing that tore at InuYasha more than the present crisis of who to choose was the thought of the aftermath and Kagome's tears if he didn't choose her. Kagome's tears were the worst; there was nothing in all the world that InuYasha hated more than to see her cry. When she did he longed to scoop her into his arms and kiss away those tears, press her soft body close to his and inhale her scent.
His pride stopped him though. Damn his pride, it kept him cold and aloof and probably hurt Kagome more than anything else. But there was another reason why he didn't hold her like he wanted to.
He was weak, and to be so close and intimate with her…well frankly he would loose control. InuYasha could already feel how petal soft her lips were and taste her sweet kisses. He was already teetering on the brink of self-constraint.

InuYasha shivered like the grass had earlier, and looked down at Kagome once more, inhaling her scent on the air. He loved the way that she smelled, so soft and sweet. It was better than anything in the world. He was in awe that she didn't know at all what she did to him. That smile, that laugh… that body. Oh that body. He hadn't failed to notice the way that she filled out the past couple of years. He also hadn't failed to see all the lusty looks that the men from the villages would give because they noticed too. Kagome was now most defiantly a woman and that made her so much harder to deal with.

Even when she was angry with him he had to fight the intense urge to scoop her up and carry her away to some secluded place and take her… over and over. InuYasha blushed; he'd been having these thoughts and urges more and more frequently. InuYasha's demon craved her; he felt it commanding him angrily to take her as his mate. His demon side wanted Kagome, forever and always, constantly it reminded him of how sure it was that he wanted her. But his human side was just not so sure, and that ruined everything. He just couldn't decide and therefore instead of taking Kagome and mating her he would have to find time to slip away and relieve his demon urges in a… different way. That was happening a lot lately. But mostly now because of the dreams. He remembered them perfectly when he awoke and would relive them in his mind while he sought relief.

The dreams were always reddish and hazy and they would consist of him kissing her roughly then suddenly she would be beneath him writhing in pleasure, crying out with each thrust, calling his name… or well, it was always Inu- she never finished his name because he would wake up panting and sweating and very uncomfortable.

Just thinking about it now caused his hakama to feel tight and he cursed himself for letting such foul and demeaning images into his mind. She didn't deserve to be thought of like that, but that was also something that he could not help. InuYasha jumped down from the tree and padded silently over to the sleeping girl. Kagome, please forgive me, I need more time. He pleaded silently and then bounded away to the stream, a cold bath should help and then he could also catch some fish for breakfast since dawn would be breaking quite soon.

There were plenty more nights to come where he could make his decision, and tonight was just not the one.

Ok, so this is like my practice fic before I start a full fledged one... I hope you like.
