Follow me through the Well

 

Kagome awoke the next morning ready for school and a new adventure. She just had to meet the other people in Mad Dog. She had conjured up a perfect plan. She would go home with Rina again tonight and she would wait till the others came. Once she got a good look at them, and a feel of their spirit she would know. It's so weird; there could be another Inuyasha. And what if he doesn't act like Inuyasha. Because I know I don't act like Kikyou!

 

Kagome dressed quickly and headed to school. It didn't take her long at all to find Rina with her friends. They had been laughing at whatever Rina had just said. Kagome hopped over and offered everyone a sweet `Ohayou'.

 

“So how's it going?” Kagome smiled at Rina

“Fine.” Rina nodded, “My boyfriend and his brother are gonna pick me up after school. He wanted to go to the mall and look around. I told him that you wanted to meet the band personally. He was quite excited and like, `We've got a fan already huh?'” Rina laughed and nudged Kagome

“Yeah…. sure.”

 

The two girls headed toward their classes, each ready to have the day over with. Kagome was anticipating her meet with Yasha, and Rina had been desperately wanting to see her boyfriend. Rina had sat up all night waiting for him to come home. But sadly he hadn't, and a little after the break of dawn he called. He told her that he and Yasha went out to a club and started to play pool. They had gotten a little drunk and neither wanted to drive home. So they slept in the car all night.

 

Both Rina and Kagome endured class after class, although they didn't always share the same rooms. Finally, school let out and Kagome quickly found Rina.

 

“Wow, you're quick.” Rina laughed, “I was gonna get you, but it looks like you found me first.”

Kagome smiled embarrassed, “Yeah well, I just can't wait to meet the rest of your band.”

Rina giggle, “You know, Yasha isn't that much older than us. I think you might like him that is if you don't have a boyfriend.”

Kagome blushed slightly, “I sort of do.”

“Really? What's he like?”

Kagome shook her head; “You wouldn't believe me if I told.”

“Okay…so um, they should be at the front of the school let's go.” Rina smiled

As they approached the front a question struck her, “Sessho is the eldest isn't he?”

“Yeah.”

“How old is he?”

“He's nineteen.”

Kagome stopped dead in her tracks, “Nineteen!”

“Uh huh.”

“But you're only sixteen.”

“I know.”

“What do your parents think of that?”

Rina giggled devilishly and whispered, “They don't know. Sessho said it would be a good idea to tell them when I'm older, so they don't freak out.”

Kagome nodded, “Yeah.”

 

They had finally reached the front and Kagome searched the cars for a pair of young man.

 

“There they are.” Rina pointed and ran

 

Kagome watched as Rina ran into the arms of a tall young man. He had black hair with navy blue streaks that fell to his shoulders. He was slender but built. His face was quite handsome and the closer Kagome got, she noticed that he did resemble Sesshoumaru. The young man kissed Rina passionately till they were interrupted by another's voice.

 

“Hey you two, get a room!”

 

The other young man was a little shorter than his brother was. He had red hair that reminded Kagome of the clothing that Inuyasha often wore. He had bangs that nearly fell into his eyes and the rest of his hair fell to his shoulders much like his brother's hair. His body type was exactly like Inuyasha's and his facial features were so close it was disturbing. Kagome slowly approached the group with a meek smile.

 

“Oh yeah. This is Kagome. She's my new friend.” Rina motioned to Kagome

Kagome bowed, “Konnichi wa.”

“As you can tell, this tall strapping young man here is Sessho, and red head over there is Yasha.”

Sessho gave Kagome a warm smile, which was so unlike Sesshoumaru, “Konnichi wa.”

“Konnichi wa.” Yasha walked toward Kagome and took her hand lightly kissing it

“You might as well forget it Yasha, “Rina giggled as Sessho kissed her neck, “she's spoken for.”

Yasha backed off a little, “Gomen.”

“It's ok.” Kagome blushed, “I'm sure a little kiss on the hand wouldn't make him mad.” Kagome knew she was lying through her teeth. If Inuyasha had been there to witness his twin, he would have thrown a fit.

 

They finally decided to get in the car and head toward the mall. Kagome sat in the back with Yasha while Rina sat up front with Sessho. Kagome could feel Yasha's eyes on her, which made her increasingly nervous. Then an idea popped into her head, she leaned forward sticking her head between the happy couple.

 

“How about some of your music?” Kagome smiled brightly

Sesshou chuckled, “Sure, I didn't think we'd get popular in Japan.”

Kagome sat back again and looked at Yasha. This is so weird!

 

By the time they had arrived at the mall Kagome had heard all the songs on their latest CD.

 

“So what do you think?” Sesshou asked

“It's interesting.” Kagome shrugged

 

Sesshou laughed lightly and kissed Rina as he got out the car. Kagome and Yasha got out with them giggling at their display of affection.

 

“Where to first?” Sessho asked politely

“I need to buy some new fish net stockings.” Rina slid her arms around his waist

“Where do you wanna go Kagome?” Yasha smiled

“Rina's idea sounds good.”

 

For the next three hours the two girls shopped, pulling the two brothers from store to store. Finally they came to a record store. Yasha and Sessho found a place to sit and relieved themselves of the heavy bags the girls had packed them with like mules.

 

“I can't believe we're letting them do this to us!” Yasha's face took on a desperate look

“Well look on the bright side little bro. At least we're not holding the purses.” Sessho laughed and ran his fingers through his hair

“When do we go home?”

“That is one question no man will ever know.”

Kagome approached holding up their CD, “They've got your CD here!”

“Yeah we know.” Yasha pushed the hair out of his face.

“They've had it since last week.” Sessho shrugged

“You don't seem too happy about it.”

“We're not selling like we thought we'd be.” Yasha sighed

“Well don't worry guys.” Kagome's face lit up with determination, “I'll promote you at school.”

“You don't have to do that Kagome.” Sessho threw his hands up

“Yeah, you'd make us look like posers if you did.” Rina threw another bag Sessho's way, “I think it's about time we go home, I have homework to finish.”

“Me too.” Kagome nodded

 

On the ride back Kagome's mind was troubled with the whole situation. Yasha and Sessho's similarities to Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru, not to mention the similarities in names. Then the fact that they didn't want her help promoting them because it would make them seem like “posers”. She didn't understand them here in the present or in the past. She sighed sadly trying to come up with a solution.

 

“What's wrong Kagome?” Yasha asked putting a hand on her arm.

“Nothing really.”

“Oh come on, I've seen enough troubled girls to know if there's something amiss.”

“It's a little personal actually.”

“Oh, ok then. But if you need someone to talk to…”

“I barely know you Yasha.” Kagome giggled

“I know, but I'd like you to get to know me.” He nudged her with a handsome smile

Kagome's cheeks felt like they were on fire and she barely heard Sessho tell her that there at the shrine.

“Kagome?”

“Oh, yes.”

 

Kagome jumped out of the car and ran briskly into her home and up to her bedroom. She felt so embarrassed, and wasn't she supposed to be in love with Yasha. Technically she was, because he is Inuyasha's reincarnation right? No, it's not right. I need to speak to Inuyasha about this, it's too weird. Kagome hopped out of her bed and headed for the well.

 

Meanwhile back in the car.

 

“Kagome left her stuff Sessho.” Rina looked at the bags in the back seat

“We should take them to her.” Yasha gathered the bags, “I'll give them to her”

Sessho laughed and glanced into the back seat, “In love little bro?”

“Iie, I just like her. You know me; I'm not the type to fall in love anyway.”

Sessho stopped in front of Kagome's home, “That's what I said until I found Rina.”

“Keh.” Yasha just shook his head and got out of the car with Kagome's bags in hand.

“I'm going with you; I don't want you trying anything.” Rina sighed

“Oh come on Rina, you know me better than that.”

“Yes we do.” Sessho got out the car and approached Kagome's home with the other two.

“So you're coming too?” Yasha sighed

“Of course.”

 

And right then like a fairy, they saw Kagome run to a small cottage of some sort. Yasha's eyebrow went up as he went after her with his brother and Rina behind him. They got there just in time to see Kagome jump into the well.

 

“Kagome!” Yasha yelled and went in after her

“Baka!” Sessho screamed going after his brother

It only felt natural for Rina to trail in behind her lover and jump into the well as well.

 

Yasha, Sessho, and Rina felt a strange unsettling feeling, like they were floating. Finally there was solid ground beneath them.

 

“What the hell was that?” Sessho looked up to see Kagome climbing out of the well.

“I don't know, but I've got to follow Kagome.” Yasha quickly followed her.

“Baka!” Sessho yelled once more

 

Kagome stopped at hearing someone yell out Baka. The voice sounded very familiar and she ran back to the well. Just as she poked her head in Yasha poked his out and their forehead collided causing them both to fall backwards. Kagome gasped and ran back to the well. Oh Kami let him be alright. As she peeked into the well she found Yasha in the arms of his brother rubbing his forehead.

 

“You are so stupid Yasha.” Rina sighed

“What are you guys doing here?!” Kagome's eyes were wide with astonishment

Sessho put Yasha back on his feet. “We saw you jump into the well and genius here went after you.” He pointed to Yasha, “Of course I had to follow him and well…” His attention was now turned to his girlfriend.

“I couldn't live without my Sessho.” Rina's cheeks became bright red.

Kagome shook her head, “Well it looks like I'm going to have to take you back.”

“Yeah, where are we anyway?” Yasha began to climb back up the well.

“Don't come up, I'm coming down.”

“Nani?” a voice from behind Kagome asked

“Inuyasha.” Kagome whispered

“Yeah.” Inuyasha approached the well just as Yasha came out, “What the hell!”

 

Yasha climbed out of the well and continued to stare. Soon Sessho and Rina followed.

 

“Who the hell are they?” Inuyasha pointed looking at Kagome

All Kagome could do was look at the ground as her feet did the dance of guilt.
