He could almost feel Kagura in the air.

That should have been impossible. She had died. A being without a soul, made purely of Naraku's miasma mixed with a base, Sesshoumaru had been unable to save her, though he had come expressly for that purpose.

He wondered, vaguely, why that hurt so much.

As he walked away from Inuyasha and his companions, though, he considered her smile, and her last thoughts, which had swirled around him as she dissolved. She had regained her heart. And now, without a body to contain her…

She was truly as free as the wind.
