Chapter 14: Memories

 

*Keiko's dream*

 

`Where am I? This forest… where have I seen it before? Huh? That tree… It's huge…'

 

Keiko walked towards the Goshinbuku. As she got closer she noticed someone pinned to the tree.

 

`Huh? H…Hello? Hey are you okay?” she called. Then she realized who she was looking at. `I… InuYasha?'

 

She ran to him. An arrow was pierced through his chest and several vines were wrapped tightly around him.

 

`InuYasha wake up! InuYasha! Wait. If I pull out that arrow maybe…' she reached up and touched the arrow.

 

Suddenly she was swept into a whirlwind of colors and sounds.

 

`I'm not Kikyo. I'm Kagome. Ka-go-me!' said the girl.

 

The centipede demon attacked.

 

`The jewel was inside her body' a man said.

 

`Utter a subduing spell' cried Kaede.

 

`SIT BOY!' the girl shouted.

 

*Crack* the jewel shattered

 

`You'll have to gather the shards together' Kaede stated

 

`Kagome!' cried Shippo.

 

`Sit! Sit, sit, sit, sit, sit!'

 

`You… smell good' said a human Inuyasha.

 

`Kikyo!' said the girl.

 

`Kikyo' said Inuyasha

 

Miroku unsealed the Kazana.

 

*Pat, pat* Miroku's hand on the girls bottom. `Eeek!'

 

`Will you bear my child?' asked the monk.

 

Kikyo sleeping in a tree.

 

`I haven't stopped thinking about you for a single day!' cried InuYasha

 

`To me you are only you' said InuYasha

 

`Sango-chan!' said the girl.

 

`I sense a Shikon shard'

 

`It's Naraku!'

`Kouga-kun!'

 

`Dog turd! Don't touch my woman!'

 

`Sit Boy!'

 

`Kagura!'

 

`Sesshomaru.'

 

`Kohaku!'

 

`InuYasha!'

 

`Kagome'

 

`Houshi-sama'

“KAGOME!”

 

Keiko woke with a start. She was breathing hard and sweat was running down her face.

 

She looked around. It was close to dawn. InuYasha was sleeping in a tree. Jin and Chieko weren't there but Sango, Miroku, Shippo, and Kirara had returned during the night and were sleeping peacefully nearby.

 

Keiko turned her focus back to the dream she'd just had. As she thought about it things began to click in her mind.

 

`Kagome… Kagome is… my name? No… My name is Keiko. But… Urg! Never mind. Those people. I knew them. All of them. They weren't all friends but…

And that girl… that was Kagome. That was… me. I'm… I'm Kagome. I… I remember. I'm Kagome.
