Author’s Notes: I've been around a very long time, reading other people's fanfictions since 2003. I have to say I've enjoyed reading them for quite a while. It inspired me to try and write my own, I'm sorry if you don't like it but it's my first time. So flame me as much as you want,critism is my best friend. Anyway, this story will be very dark in future chapters, warning for lemons and bad language, so youngsters don't read this, but I can't stop you, so just please do as I ask.
Disclaimer: Rumiko Takahashi's characters do not belong to me but the story does. I'm sure you've heard this a thousand times before but it's in the rules and I have to anyways, enjoy!

Chapter One: Heart Ache Into War, A Wolf's Love Betrayal
Near the borders of the Higourashi castle stood a waterfall covering the entrance of a cave. You could hear the loud cheers of wolf demons that resided in the cave praising there new leader Koga. These wolf demons were considered great allies of the Higourashi family for over 700 years.
A man in a fur get up and an armor plate over one shoulder stood tall on a rock that stood in the middle of the cave. He’s features were that of a handsome nine-teen year old but with elven ears with sky blue eyes and dark brown hair that was held in a high ponytail. The other men in the cave were cheering:
“ Go Koga and propose to Kagome! Then we’ll have a new member to the pack!”
Koga smirked as he took out a ruby ring from one of his pouches that hung from his belt.
“I swear from this day forward that this ring will be on the woman who will be forever one of us after our holy matrimony!”
Everyone kept cheering him on until a yell from a woman dressed in a fur suit as well with two red long pig tails and three white wolves standing beside her quietly.
“And that woman is me!”
The cave went dead silent as everyone turned to see the girl standing with fierce determination in her green eyes daring anyone to go against her claim over him.
‘That voice.. Could it be?’
Koga turned around with a shock surprise on his face and dropped the ring to the floor. The girl used her demonic speed to pick up the ring. She then put it on her finger eyeing it as it fit just right.
“A- Ay- Ayame? Is that really you?”
Ayame nodded her head before her smile took a turn of pure suspicion.
“This ring wasn’t originally for me was it. You must have fallen in love with someone else... Tell me Koga who is she! I’ll kill her and have you as my prize.”
Koga thought about his options. Years before he’d met Kagome, he’d saved Ayame from a group of demon birds that wanted to eat her called the birds of Paradise. On the night he’d made the promise of marrying her when she was older. Three years later, Him and Ayame were a couple. But he’d made friends with Kagome without knowing she loved him until after Ayame had left. That’s when he realized that he’d been using Kagome’s love to replace Ayame. He didn’t truly love her the way he’d made it out to belive , but how could he tell her that.
Koga made his decision without a second thought. Why should he spend the rest of his life with a woman he didn’t truly love when the woman who’d stolen his heart long ago stood right in front of him.Koga looked at her with a gleam of what looked like lust and love. He hugged her the minute she stopped talking noticing a change in his scent.
“Koga?”
“I missed you so much, I never stopped thinking about you for a single day. But then I tried to replace you with someone else.”
Ayame’s face turned slightly into a frown, she didn’t particularly like where he was taking this conversation.
‘Is he trying to say that he’s going to leave me for someone else?’
Koga could smell the worry in Ayame as he embraced her tighter.
“ I was even suppose to ask her to be my wife today, it’s her birthday. But thanks to you for coming today, you’ve made me see what a mistake that would have been. I can’t help my feelings for you.”
He then intertwined his fingers that held the ruby ring staring his gaze into her green eyes.
“Ayame, will you marry me?”
Ayame’s frown quickly turned into the widest smile she could have ever had and she hugged him tightly before responding.
“Koga, I’ve waited thirteen years for you to ask me that question. The only thing that kept me going in the hard training of the mountains was your promise of one day marrying me. Yes I’d love to be the woman by your side for the rest of your life.”
“It’s settled then, we’ll marry rate now!”
Ayame let out a squill of surprise.
“Rate now?”
“Yes this very moment, I can’t stand to wait any longer!”
Ayame nodded her head in excitement before a devilish grin appeared on her face.
“The only way by doing that is by...”
She didn’t have time to finish her sentence for Koga had brought his lips turning any words she might have said into low mumbles. He waited until she rapped her arms around his neck before carrying her off within the mating ritual of the cave to be married at once.
It was a beautiful starry night, also known to Kagome as a perfect night for sneaking about. She went outside on her balcony walking closer towards the edge. She looked down and was happy to see Koga looking around suspiciously for anyone that would see both of them. Earlier that day he’d sent his two brothers Hakaku and Ginta to tell her that he wanted to meet her tonight at midnight, that had been before Ayame had arrived that day. Of corse right away she thought he was going to propose to her as her birthday present. She smiled brightly and imagined herself with his children. She blushed when she noticed that she’d been daydreaming.
She silently started climbing down the vines her scent still uncovered by Koga. She jumped the rest down to happy to spend more time away from her beloved wolf. She began to run only to slow down seeing someone else appear in front of him. Worry hit her like a tone of bricks, she slowly hid her scent and aura by putting up a spiritual spell that Stubaki had taught her with the help of Miroku. It took her a very long time to get it right for now was the time to use it. But it could only last so long before hinting out the scent first with the aura after ten minutes of non-stop use. A girl with red hair and long pig tails embraced him as she hid behind a tree. She noticed that it was under the very tree they’d first met. She tried to calm herself down and quell her fears by saying that it was probably an old friend he hadn’t seen in a while.
‘Relax Kagome, she’s probably someone he hasn’t seen in a while! Yea that’s it! But he’d tell me, why meet her in secret unless...’
She watched them more then realized the flower at the top of her head.
‘No that couldn’t be, could it? Is it... Yes it is! It’s Ayame! Has she come back to take Koga away from me! What’s he doing meeting her in secret like this, behind my back no less! That
jerk!’
An immense feeling of jealousy took over her heart as she watched the two feeling very betrayed. She remembered his promises of sworn loyalty and love, she felt like an idiot for believing him. But what got to her the most is what she heard next.
Koga was looking around for Kagome ready to tell her the news of Ayame’s return when she came hugging him like a chid would her favorite child toy.
“Ayame what the hell are you doing here! Kagome might see you!”
He quickly scanned her balcony and around seeing nothing and not picking up on her scent figuring she might be running late. Ayame only smiled before replying and letting goof him.
“ I couldn’t stand not being away from you for another moment! I didn’t get to tell you after our love making completing our mating bond. Anata, I just wanted to say how much I love you.”
Koga smiled and kissed her passionately, tears started coming down Kagome’s face as she sobbed making it loud enough for both of them to hear.
“I love you too Ayam-... Kagome!”
Ayame’s eyes went wide as she glared at Koga before looking around and trying to sniff out Kagome’s scent catching the slightest hint of jasmine that she all to recognised and grew furiously jealous.
“So it was Kagome! Come out hear you wench and face me! If you want my precious Koga, you’ll have to kill me for him!”
Kagome came out of her hiding place with a glare of hatred that chilled Koga to the bone, as for Ayame, she nearly matched it. Crossing her arm’s with a smug face she grinned at
Kagome before grabbing Koga’s arm and cuddling to him.
“Koga’s mine! He’s always been! Now that you know we’re married, what are you going to do about princess! Tell your daddy on us!”
That only fueled the anger to her spark of rage, Koga backed away waiting for her to start to yell at her in full force. Ayame had never witnessed a pist off Kagome, but when she was mad, she was mad.
“Who do you think you are coming over here with her! You promised to be with me, you traitor! Mind explaining what the hell happened! What the heck happened!”
Ayame was about to come to his defense and tell her it was none of her business but Koga stepped in hugging Kagome making Ayame go in a fit of rage.
“What are you doing! You swore to be with me, I refuse to let her stand in the way!”
Koga told her to be quiet with a growl she would recognize as such, she listened to his order and quieted down. Kagome was struggling to get out of his embraced. As far as she was concerned, whatever relations he had before with both her and her father were over!
He didn’t let go but in stead started talking about what he planned on doing next.
“Kagome I’m so sorry, but Ayame was first. I don’t want you to come after me anymore, I don’t love you like you thought I did. But I still want to be friends with you, Kagome, please understand that we can’t be together anymore.”
That was all it took to send her off the deep end, she was glaring at him beyond belief with the most malice you could have ever seen in a lifetime. That’s when she slapped him hard across the face tears still falling down her face. At that moment Ayame felt her pain and pitied her for being picked second. She knew Kagome had always loved Koga, but she was nice enough not to try and steel him away. That pity slowly turned to anger after she slapped Koga but to fear once she began yelling like she’d never seen her before.
“ You two timing, egotistic, idiotic unimaginable bastard! You were the one always fallowing me around and trying to convince me to go out with you every chance you got as soon as Ayame left. Ayame, if you don’t believe that, even ask Hojo. I can’t believe I fell for your little act of love and loyalty! Rrrrrrrr! I hope you burn in hell!”
After that she ran away from him and her back into the castle, swearing to never love another man again.
