Chapter 2

Anger

Sango and Miroku felt a little uncomfortable with Kouga around. He just sat there with his arms crossed. No one knew what to do or say. Shippo just sat there trying not to call Kagome Okaa-san. He'd let the Otou-san slip earlier.

He didn't want him to know they mated until they came back. He didn't know what he would do and so he would wait until his parents came back.

Kouga was feeling a little uneasy with the humans acting so uncomfortable. They acted as if they knew something he didn't and it was driving him insane. They watched him out of the corner of their eyes.

"What the hell are you all looking at me for?" He shouted.

"Nothing, it's nothing." Miroku said. "You know I think I will go to the next village and perform an exorcism. Sango would you like to join me?"

"Hai. I'll go with you." Sango said happy that she was able to get away from Kouga.

"What about me?" Shippo asked.

"Ah, Shippo you must stay here and help Kaede-sama. Besides don't you want to be here when Inuyasha and Kagome return?" Miroku said.

Shippo jumped on Miroku's shoulder and whispered, "You just want me to stay here so you can get with Sango don't you?"

"Shippo you are too wise for someone your age." He said.

"Fine I'll wait here. They said they would come back soon." Shippo said and jumped off his shoulder.

"Come on Kirara. Let's go." Sango said. Kirara mewed and transformed. Sango and Miroku both climbed on and left.

"It's going to be a long couple of days." Shippo said.

Kagome woke up from her nap. Well it would have been a nap if it wasn't time for her to go to school. She looked at her clock and jumped out of bed. She had slept the whole night.

Inuyasha woke up. Kagome was running around her room trying to get ready. He watched her as she was brushing her hair.

"What are you in such a hurry for?" He asked.

"I fell asleep and forgot to set my alarm."

"You mean it's time for your school already?"

"Hai."

Inuyasha got up and changed into some clothes from that were from this time. Just because Hojo was gone didn't mean he was going to let her go to school without protection. There were still youkai in this time.

None of the youkai knew about the Shikon shards didn't mean they wouldn't be attracted to its power. Their instincts would know about it and lead them to it. Besides Inuyasha didn't want to leave her side for a second.

"What are you doing Inuyasha?" Kagome asked as she grabbed her bag.

"I'm going with you."

"Why? Hojo isn't around anymore so its not dangerous."

"There are youkai in this time. Besides I'll stay out of the way like last time."

"Fine. But remember to stay on the roof."

They both walked downstairs and grabbed something to eat. Kagome shoved a baseball cap on his head and walked outside.

Inuyasha held her hand as they walked to school. Every once in a while they would get a strange look from someone. It's not everyday you see a boy with long silverish white hair and amber colored eyes.

They ignored the stares. They were used to it since in Sengoku Jidai they were stared at all the time. Then it wasn't common for a hanyou, a youkai, a miko, a monk, and a demon slayer

They arrived at the school and the bell had just rung. The students were running to there classes.

"Remember Inuyasha wait on the roof. And wait until the students are gone and then jump on the roof. It would be bad if someone saw you jump up there."

"Hai, hai. I'll remember." He then turned her around and kissed her. He smiled when she responded. He broke the kiss and watched her walk to class.

Kagome got to class and set her bag down. She wondered what they had been working on since she last came.

Her friends then came over to her and started asking her questions. Kagome answered them as best as she could.

"So Kagome-chan how are you and your boyfriend been doing?" Yuka asked.

"Fine." Kagome said.

"Really will we get to talk to him again?" Ayumi asked.

"I don't think he'd like that."

"Oh." They all said.

"Well anyways has anyone seen Hojo? He hasn't come to school since Kagome left."

"No I haven't seen him since I got sick." Kagome said. She hated lying to them.

"I wonder what happened to him?" Eri said.

"Maybe he moved." Kagome said.

"Why would he leave without saying goodbye to everyone?" Yuka asked.

"Well saying goodbye isn't easy maybe he didn't want to see anyone sad." Eri said.

"I guess." Yuka said. The bell rang. Kagome was relieved that the bell rang. She didn't know what else to tell them or anything. She couldn't exactly tell them the truth about what happened to Hojo. Lying was the only choice she had.

Kagome sat back in her chair. Today was going to be a long day.

Sango and Miroku had just made it to the village. They didn't really know what to do. They just said they were going to perform an exorcism to get away from Kouga. But now that they were actually there they had nothing to do.

Sango felt a little guilty leaving Shippo all alone with Kouga. Maybe they should have taken him with them.

"Houshi-sama lets go back. I feel guilty leaving Shippo there all alone with Kouga."

"Hai, there is nothing for us to do here anyway. I should've thought ahead." Miroku said,

"You should also think about what your doing with your hand." She slapped him.

"Gomen. My hand has a mind of its own and cannot resist your beauty." Miroku said.

Sango blushed and turned away. Miroku had caught her. `What was that about?' He thought. He had never seen her blush when he said something like that. She had always turned away from him.

He would think about it later. They headed back towards Kaede's village.

Kagome stretched as the final bell had rung. It had been a long day. She did not want to relive it tomorrow. So she thought maybe she would go through the well after school. She would rather deal with Kouga than her friends at the moment.

Her friends were driving her nuts with all the questions they asked her. All of them were about Inuyasha. She didn't even know how to answer them all.

She met Inuyasha at the school's gate.

"Lets go." Kagome said and grabbed his hand and dragged him away.

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing, it's just that my friends won't stop bugging me right now."

"Does this mean you want to go back today?" Inuyasha asked.

"Hai."

"Fine." He said.

They hurried up and walked back to the shrine. They had packed said goodbye to everyone and left.

They jumped out of the well and walked to the village. When the hut came in view they could see Sango and Miroku on Kirara. Then she saw Kouga and Shippo sitting next to the fire. She didn't think Kouga would be there.

"Ah, Kagome your back." He ran up to her and grabbed her hands. "I came to tell you that I heard that the guy that was giving you problems is dead."

"I know Kouga." Kagome said trying to get her hands back.

"How do you know?" Before she could answer Inuyasha had grabbed Kagome and kicked Kouga back a couple of feet.

"Because I killed him about a week ago." Inuyasha said.

"How could a hanyou like you do anything to him?"

"It's true I saw Otou-san do it." Shippo said. Kagome walked up to Shippo and picked him up.

"What happened after we left?" Kagome asked him.

"Well Kouga came and I told him you were gone for a while and he said he would wait and then this morning Sango and Miroku said they were going to the next village and they just got back." Shippo said.

"Why did you leave?" Kagome asked Sango.

"Well we um." Sango didn't know how to answer.

"We went in search of shard rumors."

"No they didn't Okaa-san they told me they went to do an exorcism." Shippo said.

"Okaa-san. Since when did you have a son? Your…not…mated" He trailed off. He moved closer to her and knocked Inuyasha down and sniffed her more closely.

"You're mated to inukurro." He said in disbelief. "You are my woman."

"No she's not you bastard." Inuyasha said and wrapped his arms around her. "She's mine."

"How dare you take my woman?" Kouga said and lunged at Inuyasha.

Kagome moved toward Sango and Miroku. They all watched them fight. Kouga was no match for Inuyasha now that he had gotten stronger. Kouga was still faster because of the shards.

"How dense can he be?" Sango asked.

"I don't know. I'm tired of their fighting though." Kagome said.

She walked over to them and yelled, "Will you two stop it?" They stopped and looked at her. "When will you learn Kouga that I'm not yours? And when will you learn Inuyasha that I won't leave you? You guys are so frustrating."

Kagome then walked in the hut. She was mad. Everyone could feel her aura. They all just stood there and watched her walk in. Shippo followed.

"Okaa-san wait for me."

Kouga and Inuyasha realized that they were still standing there and Inuyasha was mad.

"Dammit now look what you did. She's going to ignore me for the rest of the day." Inuyasha yelled.

"What the hell are you talking about you're the one who made her mad." Kouga yelled back.

"You know she can probably hear you guys yelling." Miroku said.

"I'll leave until she cools down. I'll be back for MY woman." He said as he ran away.

"She's not yours." Inuyasha shouted at him but he was already gone.

They all walked into the hut and sat down. Kagome was sitting there with her arms crossed. She watched as everyone walked in.

"I'm going to take a bath." Kagome said. She got up and grabbed her things. She walked out of the hut then she noticed that Inuyasha was following her.

"What are you doing?" She asked.

"I'm going with you to take a bath." Inuyasha said.

She walked back in the hut. "Sango would you like to go with me to take a bath."

Sango looked at her friend. "Hai." She said and got up.

"I was supposed to go with you." Inuyasha said.

"I'm not in the mood to talk to you Inuyasha." Kagome said and walked to the river.

Inuyasha walked back into the hut and sat down.

"Women troubles?" asked Miroku.
