Chapter 1

The smell of burning flesh wafted inside the palace. The heat of the intense flames could be felt by the family inside. The father looked anxiously around him for a place to hide his family from the being he knew was coming.

"Yuki “ the father screamed to his eldest son , “ get your mother and sister’s out of here!”

The youngest of the children, Kyame ran back to her father, with a river of tears running down her dirt smudged face. “Father”, she wailed” I can’t leave you. Picking up a heavy katana from one of their fallen servants she stood beside him, swaying a little from the weight of the sword as she looked into his eyes. “ Father we can fight the beast together!’

The father’s eyes softened for a moment looking at his brave girl. She had courage...”A little too much courage “ he thought. Her bravery put most of his men to shame. “Kya you know the battlefield is no place for a woman” he said to her while looking towards the door. The screams were getting closer, indicating that the beast was coming.

The 14 year old girl looked up at her father with innocent eyes “ Then Father, I a not a woman.. I’m a warrior”

Her father , Lord Amaru, almost let a small chuckle escape. Oh how he would miss his little spitfire, Kyame. He knew he would die protecting his family from the demon. He turned his head towards the door as he heard a deep voice filled with insane laughter creeping closer.

“Kyame get out of here now!!!" He father bellowed. The pleas of the wounded and the screams of the dying could be heard right outside of the door.
"Eva “ Amaru called to his wife , who was currently trying to ease the tears of one of their other children. “get them out of here with the others before....."

The door burst open the demon strode in with a carnal look in his eye. These mortals ,the youngest of them in particular, had dared to defy him..now they must pay..with their lives. The demons golden eyes searched for the leader. The blood of men stained his claws and sword. Men , women, children , he made no discrimination. As long as it was alive, he would kill it. Now, the demon itched to kill more, to feel more blood drench his claws , he needed pain -filled screams to fall on his ears.He looked to the side. A man with the girl he sought caught his eye.It delighted him to see the glimmer or fear in eyes of the man but as he looked at the girl he could see she held no fear at all.Angered by this, he strode towards him his long white hair flowing behind.

His voice bellowed " Lord Amaru of the Marimoto family?"

Instinctively Amaru forced his daughter behind him.

"Hai I am he" Amaru stated looking directly into the demon's golden eyes.

The demon strode closer as he spoke." Well Lord Amaru ,for the crime of angering this lord the punishment is death for you ..." The demon turned towards the girl. "...and your house" Suddenly to the surprise of all , the mistress of the house threw herself at the demons feet.

"Please Lord Sesshoumaru ,do not kill our children. They have done nothing wrong!" Eva wailed placing herself at the demons feet. Holding on to the bottom of his kimono she wept in fear. The demon Lord regarded her curiously. This human looked very strange to him. Rich brown hair framed her face instead of the usual black. Eyes as gray as a stormy sky, pleaded to him to spare their lives. But he would not.

"Silence mortal!" the demon commanded , backhanding the offending woman."How dare you touch me!" She fell on her back with a light thud.

He picked the woman up off the floor by her hair.She wiggled about screaming in fear and in pain. The demon enjoyed it. he loved the fear, it was delicious. The smell of the blood and the raging fires outside only heightened the experience. “I have never seen a wench quite as lovely as you before.” the demon said to the woman. Lord Amaru knew where this was headed and did not wish for his wife to suffer such horrors. He prepared to strike the demon ,but in an instant the demon had his sharp and bloody sword pressed to his wife’s neck. The demon growled at him again as he teasingly licked the side of his wife’s face.

“Tisk tisk lord Amaru.” the demon said as a slow but evil smirk graced his flawless features. “ You should know better than to try anything stupid. You don’t want to put your beautiful bride in danger.” The demon moved with the weeping woman to a corner of the room. Putting up a demonic barrier , he smirked at the lord and his family who watched him closely , afraid of what he might do.

Anger boiled Amaru’s blood. He bellowed “Sesshoumaru! When your father finds that you are responsible for this , he will have your head!”

The demon gave Lord Amaru a hard stare. His eyes briefly flashed purple.A wide smirk slowly crossed his face. “ That old mutt! Ha ! He could barely kill his own fleas much less kill one such as I.”
The demon took one of his claws and sliced the front of her mother’s kimono open, leaving her bare. Kya glared at the demon. Intense anger shone in her young eyes. She knew the evil demon was going to hurt her mother, though she was not sure how.

Tears started to form in her eyes as she stood helpless watch the demon brutalize and rape her mother. After what seemed like hours of hearing her mother’s cries , the demon ,in one swipe severed the woman’ s head spilling blood all over the girl and her father.Kya held on to her father’s kimono so tightly until her knuckles turned white.


"Kya run!!" the man screamed as she pushed the girl away from him. But she would not be pushed aside. Much to the demon’s surprise and to her father’s horror , the Kya lunged at the demon. Using the purifying power she had just learned to harness in her miko training, she put her hands on the deadly demon. “AHHHHH” the demon yelled , the pain of purification etched on his face. Suddenly Kya sunk her teeth into the demons fleshy arm.

The demon could not believe it. While all he came upon had run from him, this one female had dared to attack him.Akuma got over the shock of his daughter’s actions and lunged forward, pulling her from the demon to stand beside him.

The demon growled at her ” Insolent girl!!!! “ he yelled “How dare you try to purify me then bite me!!” The demon’s eyes flashed red and then a brilliant purple.He regained his composure then chuckled slightly “ Girl ,you have more courage than any of the men I have slaughtered . I was thinking of keeping you to pleasure me in the future. However, you appear to be too difficult to keep as a pet.For that you will die!” With those words the cursed demon pounced.


Kyame could not move she was paralyzed by her fear. Her eyes went wide as she then saw the demon slay her father before her.

"NOOOOOOO!!!!!" she screamed as her father's body dropped to the ground, blood spraying everywhere.

The demon walked towards her. His once white hair now had a red tinge to it. The armor he wore glowed from the spreading wild fires the illumined the outdoors.

The powerful demon stopped before her. His eyes , for a moment went from a brillant gold to a lush purple. The only words he uttered were "Rest in peace girl." as his claws slashed through the soft flesh of her stomach.
She fell lip to the ground , the pain in her heart outweighed the pain in her body. She looked up at the man who was going to be her husband. “Why?” she choked out in a heart broken sob.

The demon turned away from her. He paused be fore walking away. “Because..” he said in almost a whisper “ You would not have me.” He only heard the loud clunk of his boots as he walked out the door.


She sobbed quietly as she looked at her family’s bodies laying side by side ‘Mama...Father.....Yuki..... It wasn’t supposed to be this way!!” her mind screamed her vision went black.
