Chapter 7: Found Feelings

It's been three whole days since Kagome woke up in Sesshoumaru's room. He was starting to change towards her though. He would let her do many things that she wasn't able to do. Right now she was on her way to get some spices from the village a few miles away from the castle. She even barrowed a horse to do the task.

Flashback………

Kagome woke up in Sesshoumaru's room wondering if she was dead. When she touched where her wounds were she laughed and then sighed like she was crazy. `So it wasn't a dream. I really did attack Kikyo and Inuyasha.' She heard a deep voice talk to her.

“Kagome, you did well. I trust you for that little show you did. The only thing you need to work on is your attitude.”

Kagome turned towards the source that was talking and smiled. “Sesshoumaru.”

“Yes and since you're in my bed you should be thankful I saved your life. It seems that I value you more than I thought.” He smirked and left the room.

`What I'm in his bed?' She looked around the room and noticed it was his room. `He saved my life but why? That comment he just said was so strange and I don't feel thankful or sad. I don't know what I should feel and `thankful' is not one of them.'

End of Flashback………………

Kagome still doesn't get why he saved her. `It's like a never ending puzzle.' He confused her this morning when she asked could he send someone out because the cooks said they needed more spices. He just looked and Kagome and without even thinking he said yes. Kagome tried to hide the confusion but it showed up anyway. She walked away from him and now she's in the garden sitting on the fountain thinking about his actions. `Does he need me for something? Why did he even save me? Why does he value me more? It just doesn't make sense to me.'

She looked up at the sky and watched the clouds move slowly to the east. `This is my entire fault. I should have stayed home the last time this happened.' Kagome held the tears back and scowled. `Actually it's Inuyasha's fault. If he didn't chase after the jewel shards we wouldn't be in this predicament. I'll be a normal school girl like I deserve to be.'

“Kagome.” A firm voice called her out of her thoughts.

She turned to see Sesshoumaru standing there with all his grace. He looked so sexy in white and he always kept his emotions under control. `Did I just think he's sexy?' Kagome shook her head from those thoughts even though something inside her was telling her otherwise.

“Yes Sesshoumaru?”

“What were you just doing? I thought you went to send for spices.” He said coming closer.

`Why does he have to be so damn sexy? Why does he walk like that it makes him more desirable! Hold on_ why am I talking about him like that? He saved my life but it was only for me to work for him.' She turned away and the wind blew her hair lightly. “I was just thinking about some stuff and I already sent someone for the spices.”

Sesshoumaru looked at Kagome as she turned away from him. `She's so cute. Did this Sesshoumaru just think that? I can't really believe I thought that out of a human. She is a person servant and a person servant only.' Sesshoumaru made sure Kagome didn't see him thinking thoughtfully. “What do you plan to do since Inuyasha chose Kikyo and you're stuck here?”

Kagome smiled up at him and his heart sped up some. “I don't know. I was hoping to be his mate. That he would choose me and not her, but every time I think it he goes and breaks my heart again. Like I'm just a shadow. Sometimes I'm sad and sometimes I'm mad. I can't do anything about it though.” She frowned and looked up in the sky.

“I always wished I was a bird and can just fly away from my problems but I have to face them but I can't do that. My father died when I was young, my mother fakes like everything in life is alright but it isn't, my younger brother, I'm supposed to protect him but since I jumped down that dumb well my life turned upside down. I want to go back to when I was just a normal girl, to just hanging out with friends, having secret crushes on boys in other classes, but no Inuyasha took all that away from me because he wanted the jewel shard. Naraku is still out there somewhere and so are some more jewel shards and everything that happened is slowing me down. I wish I could just fly away.” Kagome had tears coming down her eyes now.

Sesshoumaru walked to her and sat down next to her. For some reason he wanted to comfort her to stop her from crying and wanted her to smile again. He grabbed her and forced her to him and had her in a hard embrace.

Kagome was stiff at first but then she grabbed onto Sesshoumaru's kimono. Eventually she fell asleep and Sesshoumaru carried her back to his room. `Why do I feel that I need to protect her from any pain?'

`Because you like her.'

`What?'

`You like her why else?'

`Maybe because she's too weak?'

`Are you trying to be stupid?'

`What?'

`You heard me. We should keep her as our mate.'

`No I will not mate a human.'

`She isn't human she's a miko and you know what miko transform into if you really piss them off.'

`What are you implying?'

`I'm saying that we can use Inuyasha's stupidity to our advantage. He has no idea what miko transform into. When she does transform she can kill him.'

`Miko's don't kill, they heal, or burn you to hell.'

`Exactly! He can burn in hell.'

`Who are you?'

`You.'

`Whatever.'

`Mate her.'

`For what?'

`So she can be a youkai-miko.'

`What?'

`She'll be more powerful and our pups would be strong along with her.'

`Where did you get this from?'

`You. It's just you never used the information right.'

`Okay how do I get her to be my mate?'

`Get her to trust you and let her have fun instead of working all day.'

`I'll try.'

`Trust me this is going to work besides Inuyasha is trying to kill her anyway.'

Sesshoumaru looked down at Kagome that was now lying on his bed. `This is going to be a challenge but I love challenges.'
