Chapter 8: Announcement

Sesshoumaru waited until Kagome woke up and it took her awhile until she did. Kagome rubbed her head in frustration and looked around the room to see where she was at. `This is Sesshoumaru's room. Why did I pass out like that though?' She then saw a figure watching her in the corner of the room. `Is that Sesshoumaru?' The figure watched her closely then walked into her vision.

“Sorry Sesshoumaru. I don't mean to cause you any trouble.” She was getting up out of his bed and straightened the sheets before walking towards the door but his voice stopped her.

“Kagome I will claim you as my mate.” He said firmly with no emotion in his voice or his eyes.

“Huh?” she asked not quite sure of what he meant. Kagome watched as he came to her and walked around her like about to ask some questions to get information.

“I don't repeat myself. You will find out soon enough of what I said when you go downstairs. Dinner was already served and I suggest you go eat.” He said dismissing her.

Meanwhile………

“Kikyo you ready to try again?” Inuyasha had anger in his voice. This time he will get to Kagome no matter what.

“Yes and I will make sure that reincarnation of mine gets what she deserves.” She said with an evil smirk on her face.

“Your wounds have healed. We're leaving now.” He growled out of his throat. `I don't care if Sesshoumaru was kissing my ass right now. All I care is about having Kagome for me and me only.' Inuyasha grumbled at his thoughts.

It will only take a few minutes for him to get to the castle and soon Kagome will be with him. No one will stand in his way for what is his. Kikyo followed closely behind him as he gritted his teeth through the night. `I have something for my reincarnation when we do get there.'

Back at the castle………

Kagome found herself going downstairs but something in the air told her to go back up and get Sesshoumaru. She shrugged it off and went into the dinning room to eat. When she got there Sango, Miroku, Kilala, and Shippo were eating like they were starving.

“Hey guys!” she said surprising them and almost made Miroku choke on his food.

“Kagome, what happened? Why did you change when Sesshoumaru gave you the bow? Are you going to be Sesshoumaru's mate? You seemed so evil.” Sango said lowly because she didn't want her to hear the Sesshoumaru mate part.

“What you say about mate? Well I have to do what Sesshoumaru says or he'll punish me or kill me either way I'm screwed.” Kagome laughed it off.

Miroku got his food down and wiped his mouth with a cloth and said, “You're doing okay though right?”

Kagome sat down when a maid came in and gave her a plate of food. “Yes. He treats me well when I don't do anything wrong.”

Shippo was still eating and just listening to the adults talk in forth during the meal. When they all started chatting like the old times he felt a little better and not afraid of Kagome because he knew she'll only do things to survive or protect others.

After dinner Kagome ran upstairs but didn't see Sesshoumaru in his bedroom or study. The others had separate rooms and the only reason why Sesshoumaru let them in because they were camping out on his land. Kagome laughed at that thought and guessed he was down in the garden so she went outside to see no one out there.

Then a voice stopped her from going inside. Instead she turned around to see the person who said it.

“Well, well Kagome what a nice surprise.”

Kagome's eyes widened and she stepped back a few steps.

“Why so scared all of a sudden Kagome? I mean you practically attacked me and Kikyo last time. So what's stopping you?” Inuyasha had an evil smirk just like Kikyo. Every step he made Kagome made a step back.

“Get away from me Inuyasha!” Kagome said practically screaming.

Inuyasha's tongue touched one of his fangs and he laughed uncontrollably. “Kagome don't be such a fool! I'm here to rescue you, not to hurt you. Right Kikyo?”

Kikyo nodded and with as much hate she laughed evilly like the bitch she really is.

In the Castle………

Sesshoumaru was in his bathroom and taking a bath when he heard Kagome scream he got dried and dressed up quickly. `Inuyasha is here!'

He ran downstairs with demonic speed but only saw a glimpse of Kagome's kimono which was as white as his. He ran towards her smell and growled when he heard her scream his name.

Kagome…………

“Let me go Inuyasha!” Kagome screamed into his ear. He dropped her at the irritation and was about to pick her right back up until she yelled, “Sesshoumaru!”

Inuyasha growled when he heard his brother growling from the distance. “Shut up! Kagome if you…”

“Sit boy!” Kagome screamed and ran for it but got hit in the head by Kikyo's bow. She was knocked out instantly by the force.

When the spell was over Inuyasha sat up only to see red eyes and Sesshoumaru's hands around Kikyo's throat growling at the stench and just plain out angry that they would try to kidnap Kagome.

“Sesshoumaru let her go.” Inuyasha pulled out the Tetsusiaga.

Sesshoumaru threw her into a tree picked up Kagome and ran away back to the castle with demon speed. His anger was still high and he didn't want to go berserk so he tried to take a deep breath to calm down. When his heart beat slowed to the usually kind he found Kagome waking up from unconsciousness.

She immediately started struggling and kicking and then said, “Get away from me.”

Sesshoumaru let her go and dropped her on the ground. She landed on her behind and screamed, “Ouch!”

“You do not talk to this Sesshoumaru in such matter.” He said with a low growl coming out of his throat.

Kagome looked up and noticed him. “I'm sorry I thought you were Inuyasha. Where did he go anyway?” she asked standing up and rubbing her butt.

“He is somewhere in the forest and I will only tell you once. If you ever go outside again when I'm not around I see that you are punished unconditionally.” He said with a small scowl.

Kagome gulped and said, “Sorry.”

She started walking towards the castle because apparently they were outside the castle walls and she wanted to go to sleep. Sesshoumaru followed closely behind her while Kagome thought about what he said. `Does this mean he really cares for me? And before dinner he said something about claiming me. I spaced out when I heard that word and all I saw was his lips moving. I wonder what they feel like if I kiss him.'

She battled with her thoughts until she got into her room and changed.

Eventually she figured she couldn't sleep so she just sat up looking at the door. `Should I go to him? What if he can't sleep?' Kagome got up out of her bed and walked to her room doors. She only had on a black silk gown on. The floor was kind of cold to her feet so she hurried to his room. She opened the door slowly and walked in as quietly as she can.

`I think I did something like this when I first came here.' She smiled. `I think because I was scared of the dark. Now since I'm tired most of the day at night I really don't care where I sleep as long as it has a nice bed and a blanket I don't care.' She walked over to his bed and smiled at the site before her. He was snoring lightly and his hand was hanging over the edge like he was trying to reach something.

Kagome decided she would move him over. She touched his hand to see if he would wake up and he didn't. Kagome then did the bold move she moved the covers down so she could get in and got in front of him. She put his hand around her waist and spoon herself in his chest and sighed. She closed her eyes and fell asleep as quickly as she came.

Sesshoumaru smelled her as soon as she came in his room. He was wondering what she was doing so he just faked like he was sleep. When he felt her move the covers from him he almost smiled. He felt her move his body a little bit over and get in the bed with him. When he heard her sigh as she wrapped his arm around her waist he almost got up and asked her what she was doing. She fell asleep quickly after pulling the covers up. It reminded him of Rin when she first came into the castle she always came to his room at night because she was afraid or didn't want to sleep alone.

He held Kagome tightly and whispered in her ear, “You are going to be my mate no matter what.” Though he won't admit it he was slowly falling for her. He was thinking about it all day since he told her that he would claim her as his mate. He really didn't have to tell her that he was but she seemed like she didn't hear him and once he says something he is not going to repeat it. The only thing he repeats is calling Inuyasha an idiot.

He closed his eyes for a night rest. Kagome will have a long day tomorrow for he would take her somewhere he didn't even take Rin. He only went there to think but he would show Kagome he does care for her. Though this all after she is finished with the servants around the castle. She would come back my mate and my miko.
