The phone rang twice before Kagomae picked up. She sounded like she sounded at a loss for breath for a couple of minutes, which meant she had probably been practicing her powers.
"He…Hello? Kagomae speaking" She asked formally.
"Hi Kagomae." Inuyasha said quietly.
"Inuyasha?" She wondered.
"Yeah who else would it be!" He joked.
"Oh! No one…How are you?"
"Fine." Inuyasha answered reluctance curling around the one word like a snake over it's young ones.
"What do you want? Or did you just call to check in on me!" She replied sarcasm dripping from her words like rain from a cloud.
"Umm I was wondering if you could help me" He started.
"If all you want me for is a healing spell then you can come over here!" Kagomae snarled
"No! No I really need you but what I your help with something but you need to promise to keep an open mind or were doomed." Inuyasha said hastily.
"Ok." Kagomae replied a little distant.
"Ok me and Dean are going to run away but we need a miko barrier to hold Ronnie in while we make a run for it, we as in the four of us."
"Ok but I can't hold Ronnie for more then a couple hours as a demon and if he were a human a day."
"Well we are going to strip him of his power it also will last for a day so the barrier will drop a little after the spell." Inuyasha
"Ok I'll do it!" Kagomae laughed.
"That's not it" Inuyasha took a deep breath. "We're going to ask Kikyo for help too."
"Is that it? I'm still helping I know that I can deal with her if it means saving you."
"Ok well if that's all call me in the morning-"
"No I can't!" He yelled into the phone and then explained what he heard over the phone.
"Oh my god I'll be over in a few moments go ahead and call Kikyo. Oh and if she refuses tell her I can drain her soul completely and leave her for when Ronnie gains his power back." Kagomae told him before she hung up the phone. Inuyasha put the phone down in the cradle. Dean looked at him questioning. Inuyasha smiled and nodded. Dean's face lit up for a second but fell as the illusion on there room did.
"You call Kikyo while I put the shield back in place." Inuyasha commanded. Dean nodded and picked up the phone. Inuyasha turned to the door and closed his eyes. He drew within himself. Inuyasha slipped into the darkest area of power he could reach. He looked around and found a place that had an inner glow to it. He moved towards it. He grabbed the power and ascended up with it. He opened his eyes and blinked from the bright lights after being in his inner "darkness". He felt the energy wavering around his body. He stretched his hands out in front of the door and sent tendrils around the room. Black energy flew like air. The power covered the windows temporarily blackening them. Then the power hit the door to their room and from the bathroom. He spoke a word in an old language, his mother had taught him when he was 7, “Sashtu”. He smiled at his handy work then turned to Dean who was talking on the phone.
"Hi Kikyo it's Dean."
"Hi Dean how are you?" She asked with a tiny squeak of cheerfulness.
"Umm I'm ok but I need your help." He explained everything to her about the conversation Inuyasha had told him about.
"Of course I'll help but I'm not that strong anymore."
"That is why I called Kagomae isn't powerful enough either and we-"
"KAGOMAE!!!! Hell no! I will not help her." Kikyo screamed. Inuyasha took the phone having heard the entire conversation.
"Now are you sure?" He asked darkly.
"Yes!!"
"Well if you don't help Kagomae is going to take the power from you and leave you here for Ronnie when he gets his power And I personally would not want to be in the line of fire when a Yokai gets there power back after a day or two. But feel free to take your chances I am sure the basic spells that you will be able to cast will be quite effective." His voice was so calm and fierce that inside he felt himself shiver.
"Ok fine I'll be over in a few moments." She said as she hung up. Inuyasha gave Dean gave a thumbs up as he sat down.
They waited for 10 minutes before Kagomae pulled up in her silver mustang and Kikyo right behind her in a cab. They both got out of the vehicles. Kikyo paid the driver then faced the younger miko.
"Look Kikyo I know that we aren't friends" She took a deep breath then continued. "But we really need to save Dean and Inuyasha." Kagomae said calmly.
"Ok we'll work together for now." They shook hands then turned to the window and nodded with a smile so similar and bright that they could light the darkest night.
"We'll be ready in 5 minutes just make sure you are too." She spoke to the wind knowing Inuyasha could hear her. Inuyasha his ear off the window and smiled at Dean.
"I have extra money that I have been saving." Inuyasha remarked as he walked to the closet. He pulled out a suit case and started to pack it with shirt and pants.
"What are you doing?" Dean asked.
"Packing why aren't you?"
"If we take any of our clothes from this house he'll smell us on them." Dean answered monotone. Inuyasha looked down at the pack. He sent some of his reserve energy out to Kagomae and Kikyo to see they were done and waiting by the circle of power.
"It's time to go got everything?" He questioned Dean. Dean nodded holding the tear in his hand. Inuyasha looked down at the room and sent magic at it. The case burst into flames. The flames licked everything around it. They walked out of the room and down the stairs to see Ronnie about to come up them. The alarms in the house were ringing like there was no tomorrow.
"I need to distract him so he doesn't destroy it." Dean muttered. Inuyasha didn't reply but looked down at Ronnie. He saw that the bastard was standing on his mother's favorite rug. He snapped his fingers. The rug jerked out from under Ronnie then dropped. The moment that Ronnie had lost his balance Dean threw the orb. The brilliant globe slammed into Ronnie's body and exploded with enough force that they were shaken. Ronnie stood up his power glowing brighter then ever. Inuyasha looked over at Dean but Dean was smiling. SMILILING!!! Inuyasha looked down to see Ronnie looking up at them smug.
"Tsk. Tsk. Tsk you two have been very bad boys I am going to have to punish you." His energy started to withdraw preparing for an attack. He pushed the power out but it barely got a couple of inches before it exploded in his face. Ronnie was thrown back enough power to break bones if he hit a wall but, unfortunately, landed on the couch.
"What hap-" Inuyasha started to say.
"Later!" Dean said as he raced down the stairs and out the front door Inuyasha followed him instantly. Kikyo opened the door of the silver mustang as they raced out. Kagomae looked up at the door to see Ronnie following them. Inuyasha and Dean had left the circles bind when Ronnie was 2/3 of the way. She closed her eyes and pictured the house and Ronnie inside in an incomplete circle. She thought of the missing piece and closed it in. Kikyo sent her power into the circle then hopped in the car. Kagomae was about to turn when she thought of something. She sent a bolt through the Phone cords that connected the houses. She then sent a shock into Ronnie. She laughed then turned and got in the car. They drove down the hill a calm surrounding them. Inuyasha smiled as the sun slowly rose and the only thought he had was 'I'm free'.
