Umeko felt the wind go through her hair. She sighed. Was he coming? He knew it was her time. He knew it was theirs. He needed to come. It was his too.
"Sesshomaru..." Umeko said and ran her fingers through her hair. Kakia came into the room and bowed to Umeko, carrying towels.
"Lady Umeko, he is not coming. The baby will be born any minute!" Kakia said. Umeko said nothing for a moment.
"I don't care if he doesn't come, but I'm just worried about him." Umeko said and slowly began to lay down. "I will wait an eternity for him." Tonight was the new moon, and Umeko was part human. When the moon rose from the clouds she would become human.
"mmh.." Umeko kept staring at the clouds. If she transformed, would it affect her baby? What if it became human, also? She didn't know but the pain she felt now was worse than the painful thoughts she had. The moon appeared. Her blue eyes dissapeared, her hair turned black, all the markings on her face dissapeared as well. She could barely breathe now.
"ah..ah!"
"Lady Umeko!"
Sesshomaru stood on the high rise.
"Umeko's blood..." he said. Jaken ran up to him and looked all around before he spoke.
"uh, Lord Sesshomaru..if Lady Umeko is in labor shouldn't you go help her?" Jaken asked. Sesshomaru glared at her.
"no, not yet. If anything, when Umeko turns human tonight so will the baby, and it will most likely stay like that, forever." But, off in the distance, Umeko's scream emerged. Without hesitation, Sesshomaru leaped toward the house.
But it wasn't from the baby. It was...Naraku. He had broken into the house, thinking Umeko had the jewel shards. Umeko only had a moment to look at her baby girl. Yes, it was true she had turned human. She was so small.
Umeko quickly handed her to Kakia.
"Rin! Her name is Rin now quickly take her someplace safe, and not to Sesshomaru!" Umeko cried. Kakia ran out with the baby, into the fields. Naraku jumped down and, as quick as he had arrived, stabbed Umeko in the chest and left.
When Sesshomaru arrived, she was already dead. He reached for Tenseiga, but it wasn't there. He remembered how earlier on that day he was so angry he threw it into a pile of rocks and left it there. He quickly fled and searched everywhere for it, but when he returned, it was too late. Umeko had left him. For the first time in Sesshomaru's life, he actually began to feel sad. He had lost the only person in the world whom he had ever loved. Ever.
"What about the baby?" Jaken asked as he scanned the wrecked room.
"it probably died too," Sesshomaru lifted Umeko and left the house.
The next day he buried Umeko, along with Anasha Flowers. He left with Jaken, trying to forget Umeko, but he couldn't.
