There was once a girl who went through life with a bright smile on her face and a twinkle in her eye. She was certain she could not break. That same girl met a boy, no, a man, who she thought would be nothing more than a passing fancy.

 

There was once girl who fell in love unwillingly. She laid herself bare for him to see.

 

There was once a girl who broke and crumbled. She sat under the dreary grey sky waiting for the clouds to open up and cleanse her of the pain. There was once a girl who looked back on everything and felt herself break a little more, the chasm under her feet widen a little a more and her eyes, brimming with the tiny little pieces of her heart, dull to the darkest of blacks, the same black the sky was painted with when the moon and the stars did not wake to shine their illuminating light onto those who tried to outrun the night.

 

What happened to this girl? Simple, she died. And she has yet to be reborn like the phoenix rises from its ashes.
