The rain still pounded down outside. How many days had it been? Three? Four? Surly he was well enough to leave; he didn't have to stay with the damned wolf now that he was healed. He wouldn't be forced to—
Shaking his head he searched around for his clothing, finding them laying, neatly folded, by the fire. Kouga was nowhere in the cave.
Just as he had finished dressing he heard soft wet footsteps fall on the hard smooth rock of the cave entrance. His senses were returning to him and as he turned around he saw the disgusting wolf framed in the dawn's glow. The rain clouds prevented the sun's rays from reaching him, but he still felt his strength returning, felt the darkness melt from his hair like liquid midnight, a strand of silver glittering at the corner of his vision caught his eye and he let out a sigh. He could at least protect himself now. He straightened, the ache from when Kouga tore through him fading as the injuries healed. Raising his head he walked towards the youkai at the cave entrance.
Kouga was shifting from foot to foot. `Nerves. Uncomfortable wolf? You should be.' Kouga looked up from the ground, the pain visible in his azure eyes, they darkened somewhat as his gaze settled on him. The air still held the scent of what the wolf did, it called to his blood. Inuyasha knew he had to get out of the cave soon, or he would have to fight.
“Inuyasha you—”
“Shut up Kouga” He said the name with more venom than he ever did with the insults.
The wolf visually cringed, in his mind he aloud a small smile, but outside he left the disgusted scowl in place.
“You shouldn't be walking around, your still—” Inuyasha cut him off again.
“I feel just fine Kouga” He continued walking, ignoring the small ach in his stomach, making a note to hunt for something to eat once he was clear of the damn wolf and every memory of last night.
“But you-”
“Don't lecture me on what I should do Kouga, not after what YOU did.” He didn't need to raise his voice, and that's what made the wolf sink back further. So that's why his brother always looked so damn smug. To throw insults back at people without having to yell, it did feel rather nice to know what buttons to push. He mentally kicked himself for being so easy. `Wait…ouch that didn't sound right…great now I'm thinking about it again. Damn wolf…' He growled softly at his own disturbing thoughts of what to do to the wolf.
“And what did I do that was so wrong?” Kouga threw back, finally getting out a full sentence.
Inuyasha staggered back a few steps. The wolf really felt nothing about what he did last night? “You-Y—you forced yourself on me!”
“I didn't do anything you didn't want.”
“Yes you did!!”
“I didn't hear you say stop! You didn't push me away!” He started yelling now.
“I couldn't! You were smothering me! I was injured and HUMAN! I couldn't push you away! I tried but I couldn't!” The memories, they were back again, the sickening feeling of Kouga pressing him down, slamming into him, forcing him to stay awake when all he wanted to do was drift away from the horrible events.
“You di—”
"It's called Rape Kouga!" Inuyasha screamed back at him.
“Wh-wha—” It was Kouga's turn to stager back.
“You raped me!”
"No I-" He covered his face with his hands, as though he too was suppressing those awful memories.
"Did you enjoy it you bastard!?" Inuyasha took a step forward. He needed to get out of this place, needed to run.
"I didn't-"
"Did you enjoy touching me?" Screw running; he wanted to rip the damn wolf's heart out. He wanted to tear him apart, show him the horrible pain he felt.
"Inuyasha you-”
"DID YOU?!" you don't understand, that's what Kouga was gonna say, he knew it, and he did understand. The need to dominate, to hear his rival cry out, begging him. But did it have to be that way? Did Kouga have to defeat him like that?? Did the wolf enjoy having him writhe beneath him? “Did you enjoy it wolf? You loved the feel of me beneath you, you loved hearing me scream! Didn't you? DIDN'T YOU?!”
"YES!" Kouga half shouted half sobbed.
With a howl of rage Inuyasha flung his fist at Kouga with enough force to shatter every bone in his face, but it wasn't fast enough and Kouga soon had him pinned down. Straddling him, the wolf grabbed his hands and pressed them against the hard floor above his head. He felt like a helpless human once again, weak and unable to defend himself against the wolf. He struggled, the position bringing back the terrible memories, the feelings. No, he didn't want that again!
“Shut up!” He screamed as he swung his fist striking Inuyasha across the face. “It wasn't my faul! You, you were the one who was lying so open and trusting. You were the one who provoked me, enticed me.”
A shudder ran through him and the wolf at the same time, revulsion or anticipation? He felt like heaving, he struggled against the damn youkai but he couldn't. He was stronger than Kouga damn-it! He should be able to fling the puny wolf off of him no problem, but his arms and legs had melted into useless appendages.
“If you had just been your usual asshole self I wouldn't have trusted you…I trusted you!” he shouted at Kouga, his eyes began to tingle and he felt a line of hot liquid run down across his stinging cheek. The last shred of his pride tore apart and slid away from him with that single tear.
“You were injured and helpless, I couldn't leave you there, you helped me thousands of times, and I decided to pay you back. It was your choice to trust me. If you had just kept your guard up I wouldn't have been so tempted.” It was down to a whisper now, warm breath against his cheek as a rough tongue slipped out to catch the salty liquid, traveling up following its wet path, further up, until his lips brushed Inuyasha's delicate ear.
A whimper escaped him; Inuyasha lay limply beneath the wolf, like before. How could he deny the wolf when he didn't have the strength to push him away? “I thought we could be friends…” He whispered. “I thought I could trust you…”
“Why would I want to be friends with you?” Kouga asked in a mocking voice, “you worthless mutt, why would anybody want to be your friends. Kagome and the others just feel sorry for you; Kagome told me how they all wanted to fight you when they met you, but you won them over with that sappy story of yours. Poor puppy, nobody likes him, he had such a hard life, let's be nice to him.”
Staring up at the snickering wolf he couldn't help but feel the sting of truth in his words. The others all thought he was useless, they were each strong on their own, they didn't need him. “Even…even if they don't want me…I want to stay with them. I don't want to be alone anymore…”
Kouga smiled at that. “Stay with me,” he whispered, “ands you'll never be lonely. I want you Mutt.” he pressed his cheek against Inuyasha's; drawing in the half dog's mixed scent. “I want to be just a little more than your friend.”
Light filled his vision, and he felt Kouga's wait disappear. He felt no movement or hear any sounds that indicated the wolf had risen, a strange warmth covered his face, he turned away from it but it was there too. Slowly, hesitantly he opened his eyes, blinking up at the morning sun. Quickly he sat up, only to groan and fall back as the room spun around him. Once his stomach settled he gazed around the darker parts of the cave, but he saw no sign of the wolf. Sitting up he listened, but there was so other sound but of the forest coming back to life after the heavy rainfall. Sighing he sat back, briefly enjoying the feel of fur beneath him. It had all be a dream, just a crazed, self hating dream.
Like with all the other disturbing dreams he's had he pushed it to the farthest reaches of his mind, because he simply couldn't push it all the way out. With a sigh he pushed the fur away and stood, slightly relieved to find his haori still wrapped around him. At least he didn't have to scramble around the cave in the nude…should the wolf walk in. He just wished the wolf would have been as considerate as in his dream and have let his cloths in reach.
Shaking his head he mentally grabbed the damn dream, which had somehow gotten out back to the front of his mind and shoved it in a locked chest in a locked room containing all his disturbing childhood memories.
Clutching the thick red cloth to him he searched the cave for his remaining clothing. His hakama lay by the fire, still damp, `meaning the fire died while it was drying.' So the wolf had washed the mud off his cloths…and him. (Instant blush! ////////)
“Great, after everything that happens, that makes me embarrassed…I must be really messed up…” He muttered to himself, shaking his head as though he could shake the red stain from his cheeks. His is yukuta was not far away, still sporting the hole from when the tentacle had pierced through him.
`If I hadn't smelled Kouga then I wouldn't have stood to turn around…the wound would have been a lot more serious.' That damn plant youkai…where was it. It couldn't have just disappeared. Did it hide out during the storm, or head deeper into the forest?
He gazed around the cave, letting his mind wander as he dressed, it seamed strange. There was no water nearby that could have carved the cavern out. There were odd indentations in the rock, like something had clawed itself a hideout. Just as he finished that thought he heard something move at the entrance to the cave. Scowling he turned around to face Kouga, but what stood there was no scrawny wolf youkai.
