Chapter One: In Between

"Inuyasha, do you think your mother will like me?"

"Kagome, I keep telling that she will love you."

"I called my mom and she said that she doesn't want me to come home. Did you know that Sota is my brother?"

"I was wondering if you guys were relative."

"Yeah but he lives with my father. He is really my half-brother like you and Sesshomaru. My dad was working really hard and mom was always spending his money so he left her and married someone else. He never came back for me like he had promise. His wife always wrote me letters. She came by school and said she my father died two weeks after he left me with mom. She hates me but when her boyfriends said it's better to have a talent pure daughter I worked so hard to get here. I had a job after school. I was taking singing lessons on the weekends and I also go to church with my stepmother."

"But I thought you and Sota lived in different states."

"Well we kind of lie where he live. He was moving to lived with grandpa on our father's side. Mom would kill me if my best friend is Kisa. I guess you will figure out that my mother was a slut. She slept with men for money to feed me. Then she bought a one room apartment. I had to sleep on the couch while I'll listen to her and some man every night. I started to tell her I was staying over a friend so she has more privacy."

"So who was the friend?"

"It was Kisa. She let me stay with her. She help paid for everything. Everyone thought I was hiding the fact I was rich all this time. So I thought high school in America would be different."

"Kagome, my mom and dad decided that we are living in an apartment but it's just two bedrooms."

"It doesn't bother me."

"Well it's kind of small."

Five Months Later

"Inuyasha if it's a girl I want to name the baby Kisa."

"But what if it's a boy?"

"I'm still thinking but I will let you know."

Inuyasha walk by the apartment and open the door for Kagome. They had just come back from the doctor's office. Kagome walked in after Inuyasha and went to the kitchen to cook dinner.

"Inuyasha, have you heard from your mother yet?"

"Yeah, her and father are getting marry in Paris."

"That's great. I'm glad they are together. Victoria was not a pleasant person."

"Well she never liked me either. She messed up the marriage by starting the rumors by making my loss her job at the office. Good thing that sectary has good memory."

"Yeah or your father would have never divorced her and marry your mother."

Kagome was washing some dishes when she hold her stomach all of sudden.

"Kagome is there something wrong?"

"Inuyasha no I'm fine it's just…"

"Just what Kagome?"

"Nothing I'm fine Inuyasha it's just pains. The doctor is said it's perfectly normal."

But everything was not fine. Kagome went into early labor two months later. She was bleeding more than she should. Inuyasha walked into the room holding their baby girl.

"Kagome I can't lose you."

"Don't worry Inuyasha, I'll be okay."

But she wasn't and Kagome knew it. The doctors said she was bleeding too much from a small baby. They couldn't stop her bleeding. She was bleeding while she was in labor. It was a first they seen it but they knew she couldn't survive giving birth to her child.

Kagome slowly closed her eyes and stop breathing. Inuyasha watch as the woman he loved takes her last breath. The nurse came in and asks Inuyasha about his daughter's name.

"Her name is Kisa."
