Legacy of the Mysterious Lovers

 

A week had passed since Eri, Yuka, Ayumi and Hojo had that conversation about InuYasha and Kagome at Wacdonalds. The girls had not heard from Hojo since that day, and they felt bad about how hard they had been on him. It could not have been easy on him to witness the girl he had wanted as for his own with her boyfriend. So Eri gave him a call and asked him to meet them at their old hang out.

 

Eri was the first of the group to walk into Wacdonalds. The place was full of familiar faces, and she smiled. The smile soon faded as she saw them smile and nod before they started whispering to one another.

 

“What's going on?” Yuka asked Eri. “Why are they all doing that?”

 

Shrugging, Eri walked over to order her meal. Yuka and Ayumi were silent and wide eyed behind her. Hojo put his hands his pockets and tried to ignore the attention they were getting.

 

“So, are you still hoping Kagome will come back?” Eri said sympathetically to Hojo after they had got their food and sat down at a booth. “I thought I saw you walking into the Higurashi shrine the other day…”

 

Taken aback, Hojo nearly choked on the bite of cheeseburger he was eating. His eyes darted about as he thought that there was no way he was going to tell them why he was visiting the shrine. He was saved when two girls and a guy approached them. They all looked up and exchanged polite nods.

 

“Um, we heard you knew who the mysterious lovers of Harajuku were,” the first girl said. “Are the stories we have heard about them true?”

 

This time Hojo choked, and Yuka had to hit him on the back until he waved her away. Eri bit her lip, her brows drawn down with indecision as the other group waited eagerly for a response.

 

“I'm not sure why you are asking us,” Eri said.

 

They held out the newspaper, from last week, that Hojo had left there. Looking down Eri was faced squarely by that last article written about the Mysterious Lovers and their sexual exploits.

 

“Did they really do it on an elevator?”

 

“And on a train?”

 

“I heard they did it on a plane, in the economy section!”

 

“Sasuke said he saw them yesterday on the boardwalk at Odaiba!”

Hojo groaned and put his head in his hands while Eri, Yuka and Ayumi listened, dumbfounded. The claims were getting wilder and wilder. It seems everyone was claiming to have seen InuYasha and Kagome have mad, passionate sex….

 

They began to feel uncomfortable as others in the restaurant turned to listen. Conversations were springing up everywhere.

 

“And they did it on the lawn of the Emperor's Castle!”

 

Eri thought a moment and sighed.

 

“Sorry, no comment,” Eri said.

 

The gossiping threesome looked disappointed, but finally walked away.

 

“Remind me not to come here again with you,” Hojo moaned.

 

Eri stifled a laugh.
