  ;‘Run!’ was all she could think about. ‘Just keep running. Faster, or else he will catch you! You can’t go back there! Not after what he did to you! And now that you got away, you have no idea what he’ll do to you once he catches you!’ She had been kidnaped awhile back, she wasn’t sure how long ago, after three months, she had lost count and all hope, she figured it had been at least seven months. This was the first chance she had to run. They had been in Wisconsin the whole time, in the worst house imaginable, the old Dahlmer house. It wasn’t that he owned it or was renting, but it was set to be demolished, and no one was occupying it, so it became his hideout. The city finally decided to tear it down, so he had decided to take a nice drive to North Carolina, where he had family. They lived in Cameron, and her kidnapper figured no one would look for her there. They had just gotten into Cameron, on the outskirts where the old rickety house was. He had gotten out of the car to greet them, and left her all alone in the car. ‘Is he serious?’ she thought. This was the first time he had ever left her unattended. He was smart enough to take the keys, but he still left her there. Then he went in the house. It was finally her chance to be free. After over half a year of never being alone, being tortured and made a personal slave, this was it! Her chance to be free. She ran. She didn’t know how long she had been running before she had reached what she figured to be the ‘business’ section. It had stores, restaurants and one hotel. There had to be someone here who would notice her! Come on! She was wearing worn and tattered clothes. It was crazy hot out, and she hadn’t eaten or drank anything in days. She was getting dizzy and was losing her balance, but she must press on. She heard the squealing of tires, and knew that it was her worst fear. She ran into the nearest building, right into something hard. She looked up and saw through blurred vision a man, as she fainted.
The next thing she knew, she was reclining in a type of chair, with an ice pack on her head, and four people starring at her.
“ Where am I?” she asked.
  ;“You’re in a store. You ran into me and passed out. You looked like you were in a hurry and running from or to something.” one of the men replied. She looked around, she saw all these dresses around her.
“ Is this a bridal shop?” she asked.
  ;“Yeah, my fiancé and I were looking at dresses for our wedding” the girl replied. Suddenly, the girl had this rush of fear come upon her, and she bolted up.
“W here is he? I’ve got to get out of here. If he finds me,....... I don’t know what he’ll do to me!”
& nbsp;“Whoa, settle down now! No one else is in here besides for the people you see in front of you, dear.” the man with the short dark hair said.
&ldquo ;That may be,.... but that doesn’t mean he’s not still looking for me!” she said in exasperation. “I’ve already said too much,...... I don’t want to get you involved in this, especially you two,” she pointed to the girl in the wedding dress and to the man with the short dark hair. “I mean, seeing this is supposed to be a happy time. I just bring pain where ever I go.” she said as she got up to leave, but just as she was about to leave, the other man who was there gently grabbed her shoulder. She turned to him, still shaken and fear in her eyes.
“Do we at least get a name?” he said in a ‘childlike’ voice.
A name? It had been forever since she had heard her name, her REAL name. “My name? My name is Kagome. And I’m afraid that if I don’t run now, he’ll be here,.... and hurt more than just me.” as she was leaving, the other man followed her, far enough away, yet still close enough to help her if need be.
In the last seven months or so, she had never been treated so well. Maybe it was a mistake to have left, I mean, they were so kind to her, even though they had no idea who she was or where she had came from. But she couldn’t think about that now, all she could think about now was where she was going to go, and how she was going to stay away from him.
The man from the bridal shop was staying a good twenty feet away from her. He didn’t understand. She had been in a public place, surrounded by people, strangers, but people, who were even willing to protect her from whatever or whomever was after her. He knew she was in trouble, so he felt like he had to be there to protect her. Just by looking at her clothes, all tattered and worn, like they hadn’t been washed in weeks maybe even months! She had to have been through a lot.
She had gotten to a corner by a park, and she stopped. She looked around to figure out her general area. She was by a park, or maybe she was just getting out of the ‘business’ area. She heard the squealing tires. It made her fall to her knees. Her original captor grabbed her, and then she was knocked out of his grasp as soon as fast as she was grabbed. She lied there, in the fetal position, knowing what she has lost and may still loose, and prayed all she could, and passed out.   ;
