Chapter 17

Shippo and School

When the door for the elevator slid open they were shocked to find Shippo and Sesshomaru standing in front of them. "Shippo." Kagome yelled and hugged him.

Inuyasha tried with all his might not to growl. He knew Shippo was only a friend but it didn't help his instincts telling him to rip the boy apart. Sesshomaru gave him a teasing look. He knew his little brother was trying to ignore his instincts.

"What are you doing here?" Kagome asked.

"Sesshomaru called me and told me where you were. I came by to see you. Oh and to tell you that your family went on a vacation." Shippo said. "They'll keep calling me to update and stuff though."

"Have you ever met Shippo?" Kagome asked Sesshomaru.

"No but I heard them." He pointed to Inuyasha, Miroku, and Sango. "Talking about him once and they left his number on the table so I thought I'd call him over." Sesshomaru said.

"Arigato." Kagome said.

"Aren't those your clothes Inuyasha?" Sesshomaru asked while looking at what Kagome was wearing.

"Hai, she only has the one dress she wore here." Inuyasha said.

"Ah yes I ordered for some clothes to come in. I guessed your size I hope you don't mind?" Sesshomaru asked Kagome. "You should stay in the hotel for a while. Then you can buy some clothes that fit if the ones I ordered didn't."

"Arigato Sesshomaru. You didn't have to go through so much trouble." Kagome said.

"It's no trouble. At least I don't have to hear Inuyasha's whining." Sesshomaru said.

"Oi, I don't whine." Inuyasha folded his arms across his chest.

Everyone laughed at his pouting. "Knock it off." Inuyasha yelled.

"Gomen." They managed to say while laughing. After a couple of minutes they all stopped.

"Like I said if you need anything just ask." Sesshomaru said and walked back into his office leaving the friends in the hallway.

"So what should we do now?" Kagome said.

"Shouldn't we figure out what we're going to do if Naraku finds you?" Shippo asked.

"I guess it's just that I wanted to forget about the situation for a while." Kagome said sadly and looked at the ground.

"It's ok Kagome." Inuyasha wrapped his arms around Kagome. "How about we watch a movie for a while and think about it later tonight. The TV's in the rooms should have some movie channels. If not we can have someone go rent a movie."

"Ok." Kagome smiled. She was glad that Inuyasha knew how she felt. Even if it was only for a couple of hours she just wanted to forget about all the bad stuff and hang out with her friends.

They all walked into Sango and Miroku's room and flipped the channels to find something on. Inuyasha kicked Miroku out of the room so he could go to the lobby and get snacks.

"SHE'S WHAT?" Naraku yelled.

"Gomen but when we went to serve her lunch we couldn't find her anywhere." The boy said. All the servants and maids were present in the room.

"You'll pay for even letting her out of your sight." Naraku said. His arm changed into a tentacle and shot through the boy's chest. All of the others in the room were horrified. "Let that be a lesson to you all. The same will happen if I'm disobeyed." He said angrily.

`I knew that bitch was planning something.' Naraku thought. `I'll play along with her little game for now.' A plan was forming in his head. All he needed to do was call the some people and get some information.

`You will be mine Kagome.' Was his last thought before he went on with his work.

In the hotel room the friends were laughing. They decided to watch a comedy to lighten the situation. When the movie ended they all got serious. "How are we going to do something if we don't know a thing about him?" Sango asked.

"Sango's right. We can't fight blindly and expect to win." Miroku said. "Kagome is there anything you know that might help?"

"Like what exactly?" She asked.

"Do you know how he fights? His strong and weak points?" Miroku asked.

"Well he can create the numbing miasma but you already knew that." Kagome thought hard. "Oh he has tentacles that come out of him, he can create puppets of himself, and he can sort of fly."

"Sort of fly?" Shippo asked.

"Hai you remember the last time I was late and he got mad and he carried me away on that floating mist thing." Kagome said.

"Oh yeah I remember that. You should've saw the look on your face." Shippo laughed.

"Yours wasn't much better." Kagome laughed. She stopped and remembered that it was supposed to be an important conversation. "Gomen. That's all I can remember."

"Shippo do you know anything?" Sango asked.

"No, I've never seen him fight. He usually has other people do it from what I hear."

"He's one mysterious guy." Sango said.

"Tell me something I don't know already." Kagome sighed.

"Do you know any of his weak points?" Inuyasha said.

"I've never seen him at his weakest or anything." Kagome said.

"Is there a day or something where he seemed to have less power?" Inuyasha asked.

"No, are you saying there are days when he could be powerless or something?" Kagome asked.

"It depends." Miroku said. "Did I hear right a while ago when you said Naraku was a hanyou?"

"Hai, but what does that have to do with going a day without power?"

"Well hanyous have a day where they loose all power." Miroku said.

"Really? I didn't know that." Kagome said.

"Hai. Their youkai blood recedes for a short amount of time and they become human." Sango said. "Since they are vulnerable most of them hide on their human night."

"Wait Inuyasha's a hanyou, so that means you have a human night right?" Kagome asked.

"Hai," Inuyasha said. "It's tonight. I forgot all about it until earlier."

"How come you never told me?" Kagome asked a little hurt.

"It's not something I like to brag about Kagome." Inuyasha said. "If it makes you feel any better no one knew what night it was until tonight."

"So you guys didn't know what day it was?" Kagome asked Sango and Miroku.

"No. I'm actually kind of surprised he told us. Usually if we asked he would growl and walk away. After a while we just stopped asking him." Sango said.

"Does Sesshomaru know?" Kagome asked.

"Hai, who do you think watched over me while I was like that?" Inuyasha said.

"He's so nice." Kagome said.

"Sure he is." Inuyasha said sarcastically.

"Back to the original conversation." Shippo said.

"Ah right. Well I guess we can't do anything until he attacks." Miroku said.

"This conversation was a complete waste." Inuyasha said. "We know as much as we did before we had this conversation."

"That's not true. Now we know when you become human." Kagome said. She leaned toward him. "So when does the transformation start?"

Inuyasha sighed. How did he get himself into these situations? "When the sun goes down."

"Oh." Kagome suddenly lost interest in the subject. "How about another movie?"

Everyone sweat dropped but agreed. Kagome had to be strong to be able to forget about her situations. One minute she was on the brink of tears and another minute and she's the happiest girl alive.

After watching a couple more movies Kagome realized something. "Hey what are we going to do about school?"

Everyone was silent. No one had thought about it. "Umm I don't know." Inuyasha said.

"You guys should go to school. I obviously can't because of Naraku." Kagome said. `Another thing he's ruined.' Kagome thought.

"But we can't just leave you here alone." Sango said. "How are you going to learn?"

"I don't know maybe I could get a tutor or do home school for a while." Kagome said.

"I'll go talk to Sesshomaru about it. He might already have it planned for all I know." Inuyasha said. "Come on Kagome."

"Why does Kagome always have to go where you do?" Shippo asked.

"Because I refuse to let her get taken away from me again." Inuyasha said. He held out his hand for Kagome. She took his hand.

"I guess we'll be back soon." Kagome said.

"He's really serious about Kagome." Sango said.

"Hai." Miroku said.

Kagome and Inuyasha were in the elevator. They stepped out as soon as the doors opened. Inuyasha knocked on his brother's office door. "Come in." Sesshomaru said.

They walked in. Sesshomaru was sitting at his desk in the middle of the room. All the walls were filled with books. "What can I do for you Inuyasha?"

"What are we going to do about school?" Inuyasha asked.

"You're going to school." Sesshomaru said.

"What about Kagome?"

"She has to stay here unless you want her to be taken again. I doubt either of you would like that." Sesshomaru said.

"What is she going to do during school hours?"

"I'm sure she can find something to do. If not she can come down here and ask me for something and I'll get it for her." Sesshomaru said.

"I can probably find something to do." Kagome said.

"How is she going to be able to continue her school work?" Inuyasha asked.

"I can hire a tutor or something." Sesshomaru said. "If that's what she wants."

"If it's not too much trouble." Kagome said.

"I'll look into it and let you know when I find out." Sesshomaru said.

"Arigato." Kagome said.

"I suggest you get ready for school Inuyasha because you're going tomorrow." Sesshomaru said.

"But Kagome just got back." Inuyasha whined.

"You can see her after school." Sesshomaru said.

Inuyasha growled and dragged Kagome out of the office. She waved goodbye to Sesshomaru before she was out of the room.

"I don't see why you have to worry about going to school. I'll be fine here." Kagome said.

"I don't care. Naraku could come for you at anytime of the day." Inuyasha said.

"Sesshomaru will be here." Kagome said as they walked into their room. "Don't worry about it. You should be worrying about school and going to sleep."

"I don't need to sleep." Inuyasha said.

"You went three days without it. Anyone would be tired." Kagome said. "I'm going to go see if Shippo left yet."

"I'm going with you." Inuyasha said. They walked to Miroku and Sango's room and knocked.

"Come in." Sango said. They opened the door and walked in. "We were waiting for you to get back."

"I have to leave. I was supposed to be home a half an hour ago." Shippo said. He walked up to Kagome and gave her a hug.

"Ok. Bye. I'll call you later." Kagome said. She watched him walk out the door. She turned around to ask if anyone wanted to go down to eat dinner but screamed instead.
