Chapter 21

A Note and Another Hotel

Inuyasha growled as a little pebble hit his head. "Who in the hell." He said. He turned around to see who threw the damn thing. (Thought it was something worse didn't you?)

"What's wrong?" Kagome asked.

"Someone threw a damn pebble at me." He said.

"Did it hurt that badly?" Kagome laughed.

"Ha ha laugh it up." Inuyasha said.

"Maybe that was the feeling I'd gotten." Kagome said. "Do you know who it is?"

"No, but I smell wolf." Inuyasha said. "Come out you coward I know it's you."

"Who?" Kagome asked.

"You're mate." Kouga jumped out from behind a tree. He was smirking as he walked up to Kagome. "I'm here to finally take you away with me."

"What are you talking about?" Kagome said.

"Get you hands off of her." Inuyasha said. Kouga kicked him back.

"Lets go Kagome." Kouga said. He threw her over his shoulder and left.

"That bastard is going to die." Inuyasha growled and went after them.

"Wait for us Inuyasha." Miroku yelled. Him and Sango followed the best they could.

"Kouga let me go." Kagome said.

"I can't I'm going to take you home." Kouga said.

"Home where?" Kagome asked.

"My home." He said.

"Kouga can't you smell that I'm mated already?" Kagome said. Kouga stopped dead in his tracks.

"But I haven't seen you for a while how could I have mated with you?" Kouga asked.

`Oh my god is this guy dense or what?' Kagome wondered. "I'm mated to Inuyasha."

"Inukurro?" He yelled in disbelief. "Dammit I'm too late."

"Gomen but I love Inuyasha." Kagome said.

"Yeah yeah. I'll take you back to him." Kouga said.

"You will?" Kagome said shocked.

"Hai, I don't like inukurro but I do have my honor." Kouga said. "I don't mate with someone who already has one. On the other hand if he dies your free game." He looked at her. "Look me up after he dies."

Kagome just looked at him like he was crazy. He was going to wait until he dies? That's just great. "Arigato Kouga." She said.

"We might as well just walk I can smell him nearby." Kouga said. Not long after they ran into Inuyasha.

Inuyasha grabbed Kagome and jumped back. "You're going to pay for this." Inuyasha growled.

"Inuyasha you don't have to worry Kouga was bringing me back to you." Kagome said.

"What?" Inuyasha said.

"He realized that we were mated." Kagome said.

"You couldn't smell it earlier?" Inuyasha asked.

"I wasn't paying attention." Kouga said. He started to walk away. "Remember Kagome when he dies look me up." He ran out of sight.

"What the hell did he just say?" Inuyasha yelled.

"Nothing." Kagome said. "Where are Sango and Miroku?"

Just as she said that they came up behind them panting. "Why didn't you wait for us?" Miroku asked out of breath.

"Because then she would have been gone if I had to wait for your sorry asses." Inuyasha said.

"Still you could have said something." Miroku said.

"I just thought I'd let you guess." Inuyasha said.

Kagome hit Inuyasha. "Lets go back to the hotel."

Inuyasha nodded and they all walked back to the hotel. Inuyasha wanted to have a talk with Sesshomaru anyway. He wanted to see if he found out any new information.

When they got to the hotel the front desk clerk called to them. "I have a message for miss Kagome."

"I'm Kagome." She said.

"Ah here it is. I don't know who left it they wouldn't give me a name." The clerk said.

"Arigato." Kagome said. She read the note.

Naraku

"How did you get this message?" Kagome asked.

"Well they telephoned and specifically asked for your name they even knew the room number." He said.

"Arigato." She smiled.

"What does it say?" Inuyasha asked when they got into the elevator. Kagome just handed him the paper. "What?"

"What does it say?" Miroku asked. Inuyasha handed him the paper and both him and Sango read it.

"What are we going to do now?" Sango asked.

"We can't do anything until he attacks." Inuyasha said. "I'm going to talk to Sesshomaru later."

"I'm tired." Kagome said. "I'm going to go to sleep." She walked into her room.

"She's trying to hide her distress." Miroku said.

"Sango you stay in your room and keep an eye on her from there." Inuyasha said. "Miroku you come with me we're going to talk to Sess."

"Hai." Miroku said and followed him back into the elevator.

They knocked on Sesshomaru's door. "Come in." He said. They walked in. "What now?"

"Naraku is getting closer." Inuyasha said.

"What do you mean?" Sesshomaru asked. Inuyasha handed him the note. "We should change locations."

"Have you found any information?" Miroku asked.

"All we found out was that he's been buying a lot of potions and we think he's got a miko to help him."

"What is he up to?" Miroku asked. What could you do with potions and a miko?

"I suggest you get packed. We're changing locations as soon as I call a car." Sesshomaru said.

They both nodded and left. They went into the elevator. They both went into their rooms to tell the girls the news. Inuyasha walked over to the bed. Kagome was sleeping. He could tell she had been crying. He could smell the tears.

As much as he would hate too he had to wake her up. "Kagome, Kagome wake up we have to leave." Inuyasha said.

Kagome opened her eyes. They were a little red. "What?" She said.

"We have to pack. Sesshomaru wants us to switch hotels." Inuyasha said.

Kagome got up and started packing up. Inuyasha watched as she put things in a bag. She wasn't acting like herself and he didn't like it. He walked up behind her and wrapped his arms around her.

"Don't worry so much." He said.

"I can't help it." She said.

"When we get to the other hotel we'll do whatever you want ok?" He said.

Kagome nodded. "Arigato Inuyasha." She kissed him. Sango and Miroku walked into the room.

"You're supposed to be packing." Sango said as they broke apart.

"I highly doubt you'd need to pack her tongue in your mouth Inuyasha." Miroku said.

Sango hit him. "I suggest if you want to live you keep you mouth shut."

"Aww, but Sango I was just pointing it out." Miroku whined.

Kagome and Inuyasha just kept packing their stuff while listening to Sango and Miroku argue from their doorway. When they got done Sesshomaru had showed up and hit Miroku on the head.

"Itai, Sesshomaru why did you hit me?" Miroku said.

"Because you wouldn't shut up." He said.

"Sango was arguing with me too." Miroku said.

"I don't hit women. Besides she's not the pervert is she? Am I right in guessing it was your perversion that started the argument?" Sesshomaru asked.

"Hai." Miroku said.

"The car is here. Lets go." Sesshomaru said. Everyone walked to the elevators then to the lobby. Sesshomaru checked them out and they got into the car. They drove for about ten minutes before getting to the other hotel.

Kagome looked up at the tall building. "Does everything have to be so high up?" She asked.

"This is Tokyo you know." Sesshomaru said.

Kagome's stomach grew tight at knowing that she'd probably be on the top floor. Inuyasha noticed her discomfort and wrapped an arm around her. "Just try not to think about it." He said.

Kagome nodded and they all walked in.
