Chapter 30

Back To School

Inuyasha woke up to find Sango and Miroku gone. "Where did Miroku and Sango go?" Inuyasha asked.

"They went back to their room." Shippo said. "Miroku was tired and dragged Sango with him."

"Pervert." Inuyasha said. It took him a while to realize Kagome wasn't in the room. He couldn't smell her scent anywhere. "Where's Kagome?"

"She went to talk to Sesshomaru." Shippo said.

"She's not supposed to go anywhere without me dammit." Inuyasha yelled before running down the stairs. He ran into Sesshomaru's office without even knocking. Kagome was sitting in a chair in front of Sesshomaru's desk.

"You should learn some manners brother." Sesshomaru said.

"Shut up." Inuyasha said. "Why the hell didn't you wake me up?"

"Because you were tired." Kagome said.

"You should've woken me up. You're not supposed to go anywhere without me." Inuyasha said.

"I didn't think it would be such a big deal. It's not that far away. Besides I was talking to Sesshomaru about something private." Kagome said.

Inuyasha narrowed his eyes at Sesshomaru and then looked at Kagome. What private thing would she be talking to Sesshomaru about? Why couldn't he know?

"You let her get passed you without you noticing? Even for a hanyou you should've been able to hear her." Sesshomaru said.

"Well if we hadn't been running all over hell today I would've been." Inuyasha said. Truth is even for a hanyou he needed sleep and he'd been waking up really early to keep an eye on things. Too much was happening and he was worried about Kagome. "Kagome are you done here?"

Kagome sighed. "Well it's not like you'd leave me alone to finish talking anyway. Thanks Sesshomaru." She got up and walked out the door.

Inuyasha opened his mouth to say something but Kagome shut him up. "Don't bother asking him anything. I'm leaving without you." Kagome said. He shut his mouth and caught up with Kagome. He'd get some answers later.

Sesshomaru shook his head and went back to work. The people he hung around these days. He wasn't much better if he kept choosing the company around him. He shook his head again realizing that he was thinking stupid thoughts. `I need a vacation.' He thought.

"What did you talk to him about?" Inuyasha asked for the fifth time.

"Nothing." Kagome said. "Ask me again and you'll be sleeping Sango and Miroku's room."

They walked into the room. "I'm hungry." Shippo said.

"Lets go get something to eat." Inuyasha said. "How about we order out?"

The group gathered deciding on what to eat. They all decided to order Chinese food. While they waited for the food they all talked about what was happening tomorrow.

"So Shippo are you still going to the same school?" Kagome asked.

His eyes flickered in pain for a brief moment remembering his parents. "Hai." Shippo said.

"So what will Kagome do while we're gone?" Sango asked. "We all know what happened last time."

"I'm going to talk to Sesshomaru about it later." Inuyasha said. "If he wasn't such a bastard I'd stay too."

"Come on. You guys need to go to school." Kagome said. "I can do something about it later."

There was a knock on the door. Inuyasha answered it. A man with food in his hands stood at the doorway. Inuyasha paid and took the food. Everyone grabbed what they ordered and ate.

After everyone ate Inuyasha dragged Kagome to Sesshomaru's office. She wanted to stay upstairs and talk to Sango but he made her go with him. He knocked on the door and walked in when Sesshomaru said to come in.

"What is Kagome going to do about school?" Inuyasha said.

"Well she can be home schooled if she wants." Sesshomaru.

"It's ok. I don't want to be more of a bother." Kagome said.

"You're no bother." Sesshomaru said. "How about you start next week?"

"That would be fine. Thank you." Kagome said.

"You still have to go Inuyasha." Sesshomaru said.

"Damn." Inuyasha said. "Kagome needs to be protected."

"She can come here where I can keep an eye on her." Sesshomaru said.

"Last time you said that she got cut up." Inuyasha said.

"Inuyasha I'll be fine." Kagome said. "The cuts weren't too bad. You can't blame him."

"Fine but I want to meet the teacher first." Inuyasha said and dragged Kagome out of the room.

Sesshomaru shook his head and went back to work. His brother was so much trouble. He didn't even know why he bothered. He should've sent him somewhere to live and kept sending him money.

"Inuyasha you can stop pulling on my arm." Kagome said.

"Oh." Inuyasha said. He let go and wrapped an arm around her waist instead.

"You worry too much." Kagome said.

"Well if you weren't so much trouble I wouldn't have to worry." Inuyasha said.

"Fine if all I am is a bother to you." Kagome said and started walking away.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean it." Inuyasha said and grabbed her arm.

Kagome looked at him and laughed. "You fell for it." She squeaked when Inuyasha picked her up.

"I'll teach you to mess with me." He smirked and carried her to their room. He kicked the door open and threw Kagome on the bed and kicked Shippo out. "We'll be busy for a while so don't bug us."

"Inuyasha!" Kagome screamed. "I'm sorry Shippo. You can kick him if you want."

"Oi." Inuyasha yelled. Then he yelped in pain when Shippo kicked him. "Damn you." He heard Kagome try to sneak away to Miroku and Sango's room. "I'm not done with you yet."

Kagome laughed nervously as he walked up to her. "I didn't mean to trick you." She said as innocently as she could.

"That won't work." Inuyasha said. "I'll teach you to mess with me."

"So Shippo what are you going to be doing now?" Sango asked.

"Well I think I'm going to talk to my aunt." Shippo said. "She's always been real close to us."

"You mean you haven't contacted any of your relatives yet?" Sango said.

"No, I haven't." Shippo said.

"Oh well how about we all go out and take a walk in the park?" Sango suggested.

"Hai." Shippo said.

"Let me get my coat." Miroku said.

The three of them left the room and headed for the elevator. While they passed the door they could hear Kagome screaming. "Hey that's not mine." They walked faster before more was said.

Kagome watched as Inuyasha ran around the room trying to get his uniform on. All he had on now was some socks and his pants. They weren't even buttoned up all the way. She could hear Sango yelling at Miroku.

She smiled, happy that she didn't have to go through what they were at the moment. She giggled as Inuyasha tripped. "Oi, you could help you know." He said.

"I know." Kagome smiled.

"You little..." Inuyasha started. "Miroku, Sango, Shippo get your asses ready." He could hear them chasing each other in the other room.

"I would but someone stole my socks." Sango screamed.

"You poured water on us." Miroku yelled.

"It's your fault." Shippo yelled to Sango.

"Just give her the damn socks." Inuyasha yelled.

A quick two minutes later and Inuyasha was ready. He was still waiting for Sango to get her hair done. Damn women and their obsessive need to have nice hair. He turned to Kagome and kissed her.

As if on cue the other three friends opened the door. "Um...we're ready." Miroku said.

Inuyasha growled but ignored them. He kissed Kagome again. "Stay near Sesshomaru." He said.

"Hai, hai. Now go before you get in trouble." Kagome said.

"Yeah, yeah." Inuyasha said.

"Bye Kagome see you after school." Sango said.

"Bye Kagome I'll be busy after school so I won't see you until late." Shippo said.

"You should get some sleep." Miroku said. Sango hit him for the lecherous gleam in his eyes.

Kagome sighed and made her way to Sesshomaru's office. A whole day of doing nothing. Sounds like fun. She would probably read a book and fall asleep later on.
