Chapter 35
Twisted

The sun had gone down and Inuyasha still hadn't come back to the hotel. Shippo was informed of what happened and Sesshomaru had people looking for any signs of Kagome or Naraku.

Finally at about midnight Inuyasha showed up. "Where the hell have you been?" Miroku asked.

"Looking for Kagome." Inuyasha yelled.

"Did you find anything?" Shippo asked.

"No, nothing." Inuyasha said.

His friends looked at him. They knew he was crying inside. His mate had been taken from him again. They just hoped they would get her back. Naraku seemed to know what he was doing.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kagome opened her eyes. What the hell happened? She felt horrible. She sat up and looked around. She realized she wasn't in her room. This room was dark and the only thing in it was the bed and a vanity mirror.
There were three doors. She guessed it the doors led either to the closet, bathroom, and an exit. One of the doors opened, she was scared to see who it was.
She had all the reason to be. Naraku walked through the door. "How are you feeling?" He asked. Seeing the panic in her eyes made him smile. "I understand you hit your head."
Kagome held the blanket close to her. "Where's Inuyasha?" She asked.
"I don't know. He's been hurt pretty badly from what I've heard." Naraku said. "In fact, he may be dead."
"He can't be dead." Kagome said.
Naraku moved closer to her and sat on the bed. "You will forget about him. You're mine." He said strictly.
"I'm Inuyasha's. I'm marked as his mate." Kagome said.
"You won't be soon. I've found a way to erase that dirty hanyou's mark." Naraku said. "Forget about him, because as soon as it's gone I'll make you mine." With that last comment he left the room.
Kagome thought about what he'd said. `Erase his mark?' Kagome thought. She absently brought her hand to brush over the mark. She clutched the blanket to her chest and cried.
"We can't do anything until we find out where Naraku is hiding." Miroku said. "Sesshomaru is also looking for any places he might be."
"Shippo do you have any ideas?" Sango asked.
"Not really. I know he likes big houses. You know, the old Victorian type of houses, those ones? It probably looks really creepy too." Shippo said, shuddering.
"He's not that old, where does he get the money?" Sango asked.
"I don't know. He's really secretive about everything. I've only seen him a couple of times." Shippo said. "Kagome always told me that he didn't talk about himself much."
"Kagura." Inuyasha mumbled.
"What?" Miroku asked.
"Kagura's working with him. She might know where he is." Inuyasha said.
"We don't know where Kagura is." Miroku said. "Or if she'd tell us where he was. If she's working with him, then she won't say anything."
"Miroku's right. She has to go to school right?" Sango said. "We could corner her during lunch or something and force the information out of her."
"She probably won't go to school if she's working with Naraku." Miroku said. "Anyone working with Naraku will probably lay low for a while."
They all sat down trying to think of how to find Kagome again. No one had any idea. They knew nothing about Naraku. How could they find someone they know nothing about?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This was her chance. Kagome had been looking out the window and happened to see Naraku leaving. She checked the door and almost jumped for joy when she found it unlocked. She looked for any signs of one of Naraku's men.

Finding none she quietly walked down the stairs of the house. She got to the front door and opened it. As soon as the door was opened, she ran. She had no idea where she was. Naraku must've moved because the house was different from before.

She didn't recognize the area she was in. After walking through what seemed to be a forest, she bumped into someone. "Gomen, I wasn't looking where I was going." Kagome said.

"What are you doing walking around at night? It's not safe."

Kagome looked up and saw it was the detective. "Oh, Detective Ryo! You have to help me, I was kidnapped, and I need to get back to Inuyasha."

"Who kidnapped you?" He asked.

"Naraku. He's been after me for a while." Kagome said.

"Let's get you to the police station then. I don't have my car so we'll have to walk." Ryo said.

"Arigato." Kagome said.

They started walking back the way Kagome came. She had a bad feeling, but dismissed it as being paranoid about Naraku. "Are we far from the station?" Kagome asked. She didn't recognize the area so she didn't know how far away they were.

"No, it's right around the corner." Ryo said. As soon as they rounded the corner he grabbed Kagome and covered her mouth.

Kagome tried to get away. What the hell was with this guy? He was a detective. That's when she recognized the area. It was Naraku's house. He'd taken her back to his house. He tricked her and led her back to the place she was trying to escape from.

He dragged her into the house and back into the bedroom she had been in. He threw her on the bed. "What are you doing? You're a detective." Kagome said.

"Haven't you ever heard of a crooked cop?" Ryo asked.

"You were leading us on the whole time, weren't you?" Kagome yelled.

"I had to make sure no one knew Naraku's name. But you never mentioned it, now did you?" Ryo said.

"I can't believe you." Kagome said.

"That's what you get for being too trusting. Don't try to run away again. I'll be watching the door." Ryo smiled and shut the door.

Kagome laid down on the bed. Her head was pounding and she felt dizzy. She did all that running and ended up back where she started. She was still injured too.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A couple hours later Kagome woke up. Someone was shaking her. She opened her eyes and rolled to the other side of the bed, almost rolling off. Naraku was sitting next to her, shaking her shoulder.
"You shouldn't be so jumpy. You'll hurt yourself." Naraku said. "You haven't recovered from your head wound yet."
"I don't care." Kagome said.
"Don't be so cold. You can't act like that after we've mated." Naraku said.
"The thought of being your mate disgusts me." Kagome said.
Naraku growled and pounced on her. He had her wrists in each of his hands so she couldn't move. "Don't say things like that." He growled. "I'd hate to have to punish you."
"Do your worst." Kagome glared at him. Sure she was scared to death on the inside but she wasn't going to show it.
"Being brave I see." Naraku said getting off of her. He pulled a vile out of his pocket. "This is what will remove that disgusting mark."
Kagome covered her shoulder. "I'm not taking it." Kagome said.
"You will." Naraku smiled. He forcefully brought her into his lap. He poured the liquid into his mouth. He bent his head down and kissed her, forcing her mouth open so she would have to drink it.
Making sure she swallowed it, Naraku pulled back. "Tomorrow when the sun sets, all traces of the hanyou will be gone. That night, I'll make you mine."
Kagome coughed as she watched Naraku leave the room. Her throat felt as if it were burning. Suddenly the room began to spin and she fell back on the bed. "Inuyasha."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Miroku and Sango had already gone to bed. Shippo had gone home hours ago.

But Inuyasha laid in his bed alone. It would be the first time in a while that he had gone to bed without Kagome by his side.

He didn't know what he'd do without Kagome. He didn't even want to think about the possibilities. He hoped she was all right. His heart ached at her absence. He didn't think he would be able to get any sleep, but since he was injured, he would need to try.

"Oyasumi Kagome. Aishiteru." Inuyasha whispered before falling asleep.
