InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Runny Nose ❯ Runny Nose ( One-Shot )
[ P - Pre-Teen ]
My first post, EVER. I realise that this is Horrible, but please, I just wrote this around an hour and a half time span, maybe less. It was a quickie, okay?! Blame the talented YoukaiMusashi, who got me itching to post something after her newest chapter, Chapter 22. -_- This is too long to be a drabble, so, is it babble? One-shot, maybe? :S Oh, no wait, this could be a drabble. Not a good one, of course... ^_^;; -_-;;
Disclaimer: Takahashi Rumiko, because she is the brilliant mind who made him, owns Inuyasha, not I. My father is a lawyer, so do not even try and sue me. Glares. :|
Short Summary: Inuyasha made a promise long ago that he keeps to this day. Or, so he tells himself.
Oh, and for anyone who is not familiar with the Inuyasha series, or the terms from the series, "youkai" means "mythical creature" (along those lines) and is commonly translated to "demon," and hanyou translates to "half-demon."

Runny Nose
His canine ears twitched as he heard the beasts searching for him. Inuyasha didn't need to sniff the air with his sensitive nose to smell the putrid and rankness that radiated off of the boar youkai intent on indulging in the taste of his flesh. The hanyou child kept his hands in place over his mouth to stifle any noises or sobs that might escape and alert the boars near and above the cliff he hid under. Tears flowed from the poor boy's eyes and over his clawed hands - the hands of an abomination.
Inuyasha heard a snort from one of the youkai's snouts and after much bickering and conversing, the boars made their retreat, obviously reasoning that they shouldn't even be wasting their time to kill a filthy hanyou cur, even if it shouldn't be breathing their precious air.
Not before long after the boar youkai left did Inuyasha feel that it was safe enough to let the sobs and whimpers flow freely from him. He told himself he wouldn't ever stoop to this, especially after his mother's death. He wiped at the nose that was surely running and gave a loud sniff that lead to a new bountiful of sobs. As his breathing slowed slightly and all of the remaining sounds that left him were but small sniffs from his snot-ridden nose he recited the promise in his head. He made the promise again and again, over and over, but this time, this time he intended to keep it.
He would never cry again.
