[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]
Okies people, I don't have a problem! (you: denial! Just start with your name.) Okaaaaaaaay..... Don't ask.... Finding Nemo..... BUBBLES!!!! Okay, okay. I'm Kura. SO, I thought for my first entry to MediaMiner I'd enter the Sacrificial Spring Contest. I am using InuYasha as my theme anime. Forgive me if it does not add up to your standards, but if ya don like it, don read it! I don mind flames & would appreciate tips. I was never a writer until recently, so any tips or corrections are welcome. (Unless you're trying to make me twist my plot. Yes, I have a plot.) So, have fun. I was listenin to Evanescence when I wrote this..... & a bunch of other shiz.... Just as a warning – my oneshott skips around to change views.... A LOT!!!!!!! ^^"
Disclaimer: I do not own InuYasha in any way, shape, or form. That honor belongs to Ramika Takahashi. I own only my plot, pathetic writing, & stories.

"Is this your sick idea of a joke!? NOBODY touches Kagome unless it's over my dead body!" the hanyou cried out in anger.
"If you are trying to pin that threatening note you're shaking in your fist on me, then you are mistaken little brother. I received the same thing with Rin's name on it and I will thank you not to wake her with your endless ranting," Sesshomarou calmly retorted.
Inuyasha reread the note by the light of the lamp always left burning at night for Rin's sake. Frustrated, he clenched his fist to crumple the paper.
"You wont find a trace of them. I've seen em. These girls are very thorough. They wouldn't give Ayame back until the pack made a deal with them," a wolf youkai whispered behind Inuyasha. "It's a pity you have nothing to offer them if return for her life."
Inuyasha whirled around eyes blazing.
"What did you just say!?"
He struggled to keep from raising his voice, after all, not only was Rin sleeping here, but Kagome, Sango, Kirara, Miroku, and Shippou weren't that far away.
"Please tell me. NOW," Inuyasha said as even toned as an angered hanyou gets.
"Why should I? Why should I help a half-breed?" Kouga sneered.
"Please?" Inuyasha asked with a slight pleading not to his voice. "If you won't do it for me, please do it for her."
"Fine, puppy boy. Sit down. You too, Sesshoumaru. This might take a while."
*** Kagome looked up at the large oak tree longingly. He still hasn't come back yet.... She glanced at her electronic glow-in-the-dark watch. I wonder if anything's happened to him.... And what was he so upset about? Shouldn't he be happy to talk to fellow hanyous? Maybe I'm just being silly, but I have this awful foreboding feeling..... Almost like I'll lose someone I love.... forever.....
Sango woke and noticed Kagome slumped against Inuyasha's tree, reduced to tears. While Sango fished for tissues in Kagome's bag, the feeling of suddenly being surrounded sprung on her seconds after Kagome noticed it. Before they could object, two female hanyous in masks swept them up and ran as a third struck the tree with an arrow bearing a rolled note.

I gotta get back there! Fast! Inuyasha ran faster than he had in his entire life for the camp, two and a half miles away. Kouga had made it crystal clear that with this particular group of bandits, a sacrifice of equal or similar value must be given in exchange.
According to Kouga, there was a particularly strong band of female hanyous of all kinds in search of mates. They gathered together and kept their eyes opened for strong, well-known hanyous and youkai. Once they set their eyes on one, they watched him for weeks, months, even years until they discovered a weakness. A valued companion or family member was kidnapped and held for ransom with a time limit. If the coveted male could not find the lair and retrieve the "prize" within the time limit, the prize would be killed and the male shunned by his kind.
However, if the male was able to track down the prize, he would have to present something in exchange to the females to save the companion. Most of the time, a victim to slay or eat or a male to wed were what the females desired.
Inuyasha stumbled into the camp to find a distraught monk cradling the possessions of a youkai exterminator and a young kitsune crying himself to sleep.
"WHY DIDN'T YOU DO ANYTHING!?!?" Inuyasha cried in fury as a small tear trickled down his cheek.
"We...weren't.......awake," Miroku managed between hiccups and sobs.
"Start gathering your things, monk. NOW. Were leaving."
Shit! Inuyasha's thoughts started to race. We have to find them in 5 hours, they get a head start, AND I am the ONLY one with a sensitive enough nose! DAMN!! I'd better leave now so I won't be slowed down by those two....

Kagome awoke sore and dangling by her wrists from a stone wall with an unconscious Sango in the same shape a few feet down the wall. Her eyes began to well up with tears at the thought of what the female hanyous had said to her.
Flashback
"You're never gonna see the light of day again, human!" one with patch black ears and a ratty tail sneered. "Your hanyou will surely pick one of his own kind over one of you pathetic creatures. If he cares enough to look for you, I doubt he'll be able to sort through all our false and covered trails before his five hours are up! After that, we are free to kill, torture or eat you! Maybe all of the above, but only if you're lucky!"
The hanyous smirked with an evil glint in their eyes barely visible over their facial veils.
End Flashback
A tear streaked a path down Kagome's dirty face.
"But will he come this time? Maybe he really doesn't want me. Maybe I should have used the completed jewel to seal the well," Kagome whispered weakly.
***
A nearby white ear twitched outside the window. She thought he didn't want her? How could that be when she was all he ever thought about, the reason he got up in the morning? He whimpered to let her know he was there and had heard before he ran off to find the leader of the cursed female hanyou bandits.
I wonder, thought Kagome, what will he do now... He finally has the completed jewel. Why is he still here? The jewel came hurtling through the barred window to rest at her feet. Well, that was unexpected, she mused.

Inuyasha was harassing a particularly ugly guard with a large mole on her face when a cool presence came over everyone nearby.
"Bravo Inuyasha, bravo," said an icy voice that reminded him of silk. "You will make an absolutely wonderful pack leader! I had no idea what a good match you would be for me! And look at you! No wonder she loves you – you're absolutely adorable!"
"No, thank you!" he growled, not even hearing the 'she loves you' part. "I already found the best potential mate there is,whether she feels the same or not!" he stated in a matter-of-fact tone with a smug look on his face.
"I see. What a pity that you have to decide her future. I give you three choices. Option A – my personal favorite: stay here, marry me, and we let her go. Option B: you leave with your life, but she loses hers. That is a favorite of the pack. Option C: you provide some sort of thing we all value in exchange for her life and freedom. Oh, and the other goes with her, no matter what. It is time to choose," she finished her list feeling quite sure of his answer and was thinking of what color kimono would look best at a wedding.
He now noticed Kagome and Sango had been tied to a tree to discover their fates. Inuyasha kneeled and bowed his head as he silently pulled his hair to one side. He thrust the Tetsusaiga in the girls' general direction and tied his hair back with one of Kagome's stolen scrunchies. Hey! That was my favorite one! I thought Sota took it! I looked for it for weeks and Inuyasha told me he never even saw it! What the heck is he doing!? Inuyasha had allowed himself to be tied up and thrust into the dirt after he had moved his hair, exposing his neck. He looked at Kagome lovingly and longingly
"Do your worst, wench!" he pridefully told the pack leader. "Kagome, try to stay alive! I don't wanna sacrifice my life for you for nothing! Love ya!" He winked at her.
Tears streamed down the miko's face as she looked away.
"Inuyasha! Don't leave me! I--,"she heard a gasp and a thump as his body hit the ground. "I love you, Inuyasha!" she screamed, making her throat raw.
The dungeon in which she had been chained started to glow. The Shikon no Tama came hurtling at her as her ropes disintegrated. It circled her head for a moment as if trying to understand what she wanted. Kagome stared at the body separated from the head which held those fuzzy ears she loved so much. The jewel zoomed towards Inuyasha, paused, then plunged into the hollow where his head should have been attached.
He literally pulled himself together, still adjusting his head as he collected his sword. With one effortless swing, all the hanyous fell dead. The sword dropped to the ground as if it were a lead weight. Kagome and Inuyasha started to walk towards each other. Their walk quickly turned into a run as they met each other. Kagome was swept up into strong arms and swung in a circle before she was released. Passionately burning molten eyes looking only for her gazed happily into her face.
"It worked! It worked AND I found out! I figured if you loved me enough, the jewel would bring me back! Not only did it bring me back, but I found out! I thought you hated me!" He excitedly rambled.
Before she could protest, she was hugged gently and kissed softly and sweetly while the dawn sun rose. Sango awoke and gaped at the passionate silhouettes.
"I found it!" Shippou boasted loudly to Miroku. "It's over there! I smell battle, blood, death, Inuyasha--- hang on! Woah! Inuyasha smells dead!"
The kissing couple had not moved or even noticed the others. They were living the moment, wishing it to never end.
