Say Anything

Disclaimer: I do not own Inu Yasha. (How sad!!) I would also like to thank my friend Samm for helping me in my time of need.

Italics and *…* indicate thought.

"LECH", screamed Sango after being rudely awaked by a pinch on her backside. The donator of this pinch was seated a few feet away from her with a very large red handprint on his face.

"Sango, my love, I just wanted to test the firmness of that beautiful rear end of yours", replied Miroku with a very happy look on his face.

"Jeez, when are you two going to knock that shit off. I have been awakened like this every morning this week and frankly I am getting sick of this shit" uttered a very angry hanyou from the corner of the room. "Now that I am awake, I'm leaving". Inu Yasha got up from his spot and stormed out of the hut. After leaving the hut he leapt into the air and into the forest.

"Going to the well, you think?" said Sango.

"Where else do you think he is going. He has been there everyday for the past week and a half waiting for Kagome. I think he is going to be waiting a lot longer this time for her to return. Their last fight was a horrible one and both of them have too much pride to say they are sorry to one another" replied Miroku.

At the well…

Inu Yasha sat by the well looking hopefully into it waiting to see Kagome returning. "I have been here for almost two weeks and she has not come back. I must have hurt her a lot," Inu Yasha said to himself.

"You are not going home. We need to be finding more of the jewel fragments," yelled Inu Yasha.

"I have to go back. I have been gone for three weeks. I need to tell my mom that I am still ok and I need to see what I have missed at school," pleaded a very desperate Kagome.

"No, I need you here. You are not going and that is final. I am the boss here and you are going to listen to what I say," stated a very determined Inu Yasha.

"What?!? I am going no matter what you say. You are not my boss and you are not going to tell me what to do," Kagome defiantly said and stormed past Inu Yasha.

Inu Yasha watched as she walked past. "Fine, leave. You are a weak human that will never, ever measure up to Kikyo," muttered Inu Yasha instantly regretting what he just said.

Kagome stopped in her tracks. "I may not be as strong or as wonderful as Kikyo, I know this and I do not need you to tell me this. I tried my best to get better but I see that this has not made you happy. I am going to leave and never come back, if this will make you happy," replied Kagome as she started to cry. Before Inu Yasha could say anything else, Kagome was gone and he was left alone.

###############################END OF FLASHBACK###################################

"Why am I such and idiot. She is a great person and I did say some awful things to her. She is never going to forgive me and I blew my chance to tell her how I really feel," said Inu Yasha.

**Here I am, by the well again and awkward silences on the other end. I used to know the sound of a smile in your voice, but right now all I feel is the pain of the fighting starting up again. All the things we talked about, you know they stay on my mind. All the things we laugh about they'll bring us through it all the time. Don't say a word; I know you feel the same. Just give me a sign; say anything, say anything. Please don't walk away. I know you want to stay. Just give me a sign; say anything, say anything. I don't deserve you Kagome, but I love you. I know what I must do. I have to tell her how I really feel or I will definitely lose her forever.**

Inu Yasha got up from his seat in front of the well and leaped in.

On the other side of the well…

"Here you go honey, some hot chocolate. Just don't stay up to late studying," said Mrs. Higurashi.

"Don't worry mom, I am not going to be up much longer. I just want to get a little more studying in tonight," said Kagome. She was studying at her desk in her blue pajamas. (The ones with the tank-top and pants)

"Ok, goodnight then dear," said Mrs. Higurashi and left the room.

Kagome took a sip from the cup and glanced out the window. It was raining. The weather feels like I do on the inside, I've cried enough already. It has been two weeks since I left the feudal era. He hurt me really bad. Kagome leaned her head on the window and continued to watch the rain fall.

**Some say that time changes, best friends can become strangers. I don't want that, no not for you. If you just stay with me we can make it through. So here we are again, same old argument, now I wonder if things will ever change. When will you laugh again, laugh like you did back when. Make noise till Three AM and everyone would complain. All the things we talked about, you know they stay on my mind. All the things we laugh about, they'll bring us through it every time. Don't say a word; I know you feel the same. Just give me a sign; say anything, say anything. Please don't walk away, I know you want to stay. Just give me a sign; say anything, say anything.**

A single tear fell from Kagome's eye and slid silently down her cheek. Kagome wiped it away with the back of her hand. She was still resting her head on the window when she got up from her seat, put on her bathrobe and left her bedroom. Kagome decided that she had to make a decision about all of this and she knew where she had to go to make this decision. Kagome walked quietly down the hall and down the stairs. She had made it to the front door and listened to see if she woke anyone up. When she decided that everyone was still asleep, she silently slipped out the door and into the rain.

Kagome tried to cover her head with her bathrobe but she could tell that this was not helping and decided to drop it on the ground. She continued on bare foot and in just her pajamas. By the time she made it to the sacred tree she was soaking wet and cold. She glanced up into the tree and took a deep breath.

Everytime I have a fight with Inu Yasha, I always end up here. This tree always helps me with all my decisions; hopefully it can help me through this one.

Kagome placed one hand on the trunk of the Sacred Tree and the other hand over her heart. "Please help me. I do not know what to do. I hurt when I am not with him, but it hurts when he says awful things to me. I know he doesn't mean some of the things he says but still they hurt. I care for Inu Yasha too much to leave him. Please, please tell me what to do because I am not strong enough to make a decision. Just give me a sign." Kagome started crying and fell to her knees and placed both hands over her heart. Kagome closed her eyes to wait for an answer and she looked into her heart for the same answer.

This is how Inu Yasha found her. He could tell that she was crying even in the rain and it pained him to see this because he knew that he was the cause of this. He slowly walked over to her. He had to tell her even if she hated him. He wanted her to know how he really felt. He was an arms length away from her when he got down on his knees. Then he heard her speak. "Please give me any sign. I love him".

He gently placed a hand on her bare shoulder and startled her. Kagome looked at the hand that was placed on her shoulder and followed it upward to the arm until she reached who the owner of the hand was. Kagome stood up and was about to leave when Inu Yasha grabbed her hand. She looked at their joined hands and realized that he was still on his knees. Blue and amber eyes met for the first time in weeks and Kagome could see pleading in those eyes.

"Please don't walk away and please don't say a word until I am finished. I didn't mean to hurt you. I just don't want to lose you to anyone here. I know you want to stay in the feudal era. I haven't stopped thinking about you ever since you left. I am deeply sorry and I love you. Please forgive me" confessed Inu Yasha and it looked like there were tears in his eyes.

Kagome started crying again and was a loss for words. I'm falling, I'm falling, I'm falling down. I'm falling, I'm falling, I'm falling down. Kagome fell to her knees in front of Inu Yasha. He grabbed onto her so she would not hurt herself. "Say anything. If you don't want me here, just say so and I will leave you forever. But I don't want that, please just give me a sign. Please don't leave" choked out a very tearful Inu Yasha.

Kagome cupped Inu Yasha's face with her two hands, she looked into his amber eyes with love and affection. This was the sign that the Sacred Tree had given her and she knew this in her heart. Inu Yasha suddenly placed a gentle kiss on Kagome. He got up from the ground and started walking back to the well house. He had not received an answer from Kagome and he figured that she was hurt and thought that she would be better off if he left. He hoped that without him around she would be able to live a happy life. Inu Yasha had almost made it to the well house when his ears picked up the sound of someone running at him. He quickly turned around and caught Kagome in his arms. Kagome put her arms around Inu Yasha's neck and placed a very passionate kiss on his lips. His arms made their way around her waist and her hands found their way into his silvery hair to his ears and she gently massaged them.

After a few moments, Kagome pulled away and placed her chin on his shoulder and quietly spoke, "I love you too, Inu Yasha. Please don't go, stay with me forever". Inu Yasha embraced Kagome with a hug and started kissing her again. He kissed her for all the days she was away, he kissed her for all the times he has hurt her and he kissed her because he finally could.

The rain around them started to lessen and the clouds parted allowing the moon to shine down on the two lovers. From the doorway, Mrs. Higurashi smiled at the scene she was seeing and quietly closed the door. She was glad the two had made up and started thinking about a future wedding.
