The bell rang and everyone started to file into their respective classroom. The one we focus on now is a brightly colored classroom. Honors European History was a dreaded subject, but the credits you recieve made up for it. The teacher, Tashan Higurashi, was quite the card. He got very enthusiastic about the class and made it as enjoyable as a History class could be. The students were cooperative, having a history of being high achievers or copying from the right people.

The professor walked in, laid his anime covered brief case on the desk, and jumped up right next to it. His plaid jacket was un-buttoned and his hair messy, as was the norm. He started swishing his feet in the air and whistled to get everyone’s attention.

“As you all know, this weekend is Halloween. This year I’ve planned something extra special for everyone in my Honors Class!”

Mumbles and perverted snickers were heard around the room. Professor Tashan paid no attention, however, because he was far too sure of himself in all ways to care.
“Of course, your participation shall be counted as a test grade. Most of you… “he paused to glare around the room. “Need the credit. This year we will be re-enacting the mansion of Elizabeth Bathory, the ‘blood countess’ we’ve been studying about. You’ll find signup sheets at the door.” Tashan plopped his back on the desk and awaited questions. Usually there were some from the smart-asses or kiss-ups. Slightly disappointed, he whispered, “The males in my class might want to hurry and get a good spot, because there seems to be one less for a male role.”
All the boys except one rushed to the door and fought over the pen attached on a string. All but one space was taken, but with a side long, icy glance Sesshomaru convinced a fellow classmate to sign his name in the last cell.

Once that was over, the professor clapped his hands and got a serious face on, sitting up and grabbing his planner with what seemed to be conviction. The class hushed and got out their notebooks. As Tashan started going over Hungarian laws and names, the door was slowly opened and shut by a creeping adolescent. As Inuyasha maneuvered to his desk he felt sort of empowered, being able to just sneak past a human like that.

Inuyasha sat down, pulled out his notebook and took notes for the remainder of the class. He had been late because of his normal distraction, Kikyo, and thought it was the least he could do to make up the minutes he missed. He had been getting her out of a bad deal. He didn’t like to talk about the real reason he liked her so much, but he liked to think that she needed him.

The bell rang. Like usual, he stuffed all his handouts and papers into his backpack, and left without another word to anyone, per usual.  He didn’t even notice the professor giggling behind a book. Another student did, however.

Kagome watched her older brother snicker at his desk. It was one of his worst traits to scheme and get over excited about it. It was unhealthy, his new obsession with teaching students ‘real-life lessons’ in his class planning.  She coolly walked to the chalkboard and scratched her nails down the surface, bringing Tashan out of his trance.

“What the- oh, Kagome, you scared me. Heh-heh. You see, I was just thinking of this great joke that-“
“Enough of your crap, Tashan. What’s wrong with you?” She went to stand in front of his paper-strewn desk. “Do you really think a little thrown together job of a re-enactment will get Inuyasha’s goat? If you haven’t noticed, he doesn’t give a fu- crap about anything other than his girlfriend. You can’t win this.”

Leaning back in his rolly-chair, Tashan gave a wolf grin. “Do I sense a little jealousy there, Kagome? Tehe, I never would have seen it coming. You can do better, you know.” He rolled away from her cupped hand, sure to leave a print if it made contact with his face. He held up his hands, “It’s harmless, sis. He has to be a girl! Don’t you get it? Inuyasha Taisho will have to drop his pride or fail. Isn’t that a good strategy?”

She paused to consider. Tashan was right. After all, what harm could it be? She grinned, thought a bit, and bit her lip. “Might I be the countess?”

Tashan was shocked. Did his sister have devious plans of her own? “As long as your scheming doesn’t affect mine, you can be whoever you want… will you let me in on it?” He glanced out his door to make sure no one was eavesdropping. “You know I do love a good scandal.”

Kagome giggled and walked to the door, signing her name in the main top cell. “All in good time, I’m sure.” A good vague answer, because not even Kagome knew what she was up to. What she did know was that Elizabeth tortured girls not only for their blood, but also in a sickening sexual way. If Inuyasha was to be a girl, maybe that would ensure alone time for them. Seeing as she had always had a crush on him, there was no reason for her to give up now that the perfect opportunity had arose. The only reason he wasn’t with her was because she had been an absolute bitch to him the day they met. Otherwise, they would have gotten along perfectly.

As she walked up the hall to the exit, Kagome let out an uncontrollable laugh as she thought of the security her plan already had. Who would expect perfect, quiet Kagome to be lusting after a half-breed? Although she’d never call him that, she knew it was secure. After he started dating Kikyo, a filthy young woman who thought only of drugs and sex, he lost his handsome demon appeal.

It was warm outside, and she could see Kikyo making another sell at the curb. ‘She used to be a great friend, an amazing cousin I thought of like a sister. But now, she’s diminished herself, choosing to feel nothing at all instead of dealing with her problems. Why does he love her?’

Reaching for her keys, she watched as Inuyasha popped around the corner and grabbed Kikyo’s arm. She could tell her cousin was tired, because usually a thing like that would have turned her into a cornered-cat. Or maybe she was high. After Kagome’s dad died, Kikyo’s uncle, she had never been the same. Kagome had been the only one of the two to recover.

They were fighting, only verbally for now. Inuyasha was known to have welts and bruises on him when he came to school, things that Kikyo gloated about behind his back. Since she didn’t see how she could help the situation, Kagome pushed her key into the ignition and drove towards home. She had some planning to do.
