Scented Tears

Disclaimer: I don't own Inuyasha, I just spend every moment of my life dreaming, obsessing, fantasizing, and LOVING the cheese puffs outta him!

A/N: I would just like to say that I am all for Kag/Inu all the way, I'm just so frustrated with Inu right now that I'm going to be evil to him and write a Kag/Sess story. Also, I refer to Sesshomaru as Sessy, since I'm too lazy to write out his whole name.

Warning: There will be at least one lemon at some point in this story, but I'll put a warning about it in the title of the chapter it's in, if you would like to avoid it.

Chapter 1: Inuyasha's Wish

Kagome's breath came unevenly as she ran with all her strength. She knew that it didn't really matter how fast she ran, nobody was coming after her this time.

Inuyasha had made that wish, the one wish that could hurt her the most. He was the reason she was running. He was to blame. It's all his fault.

As she ran towards the well, she didn't even sense the youkai coming nearer. All she thought about was making it to the well, and sealing it from the other side.

She tripped painfully over a tree root, and landed flat on the ground without the strength to pull herself up. Lying there, facedown, she began to cry.

She sobbed as she thought of everything, of what it all meant now, of that awful wish.

`How could I have been so stupid? I thought he loved me, so I gave myself to him, heart and soul. But no, he just had to go and make that stupid wish!'

As her body shook with its sobs, she was completely unaware of the danger that now stood directly in front of her.

`This smell....it's Inuyasha's wench. And Inuyasha is nowhere near by...he's still back at the village, I can smell his disgusting half-breed scent from here.'

Sessy dodged behind a tree as he got nearer, he could just see the girl from here.

`What could that wench be doing on the ground?'

He sniffed the air carefully once more, and his eyes widened slightly at his realization.

`This girl, not only can I smell the salt in her tears, but I can smell her feelings. Whatever has happened to her must have been quite terrible. I can smell her hatred; her anger, her sorrow, and her....love?'

Scoffing to himself lightly at the idea, he gracefully walked his way over and stood in front of her.

Rolling his eyes at her sense of oblivion for not knowing he was there, he leaned down and grabbed her, pulling her into his arms and covering her mouth.

He smoothly began running back towards his castle.

Kagome looked up at her captor, having stopped struggling hours ago. His hand still remained over her mouth, no matter to what extent she licked or bit it.

`Why would Sesshomaru want me? If he thinks Inuyasha will trade the Tetsusaiga for me, he's going to be very disappointed. Especially after that wish....'

Kagome's thoughts were cut short as she was forced to choke back a sob. As a few tears trickled down her cheek and onto Sesshomaru's hand, he looked down at her.

Cautiously he withdrew his hand from over her mouth and allowed her to take the deep breaths necessary for sobbing. Relieved for the air, Kagome drew huge breaths and covered her face with her hands.

Unknowingly, she leaned her head on Sesshomaru's shoulder, searching for any source of warmth and comfort.

Sesshomaru looked down and found himself pleased by her actions. Gathering his senses, he quickly managed a low growl. Kagome immediately sat back up and stifled her sobs.

`Ugh, how did I find that enjoyable? This disgusting human wench leans her head on my shoulder and I actually enjoyed it! What the hell was wrong with me? Oh well, I fixed that little mistake. She seemed pretty damn frightened of me, as well she should be. Oh man, though, she's beautiful when she's afraid. WHAT?!?! I must be going insane! It must be the humidity around here or something. Yes, that's it.' Sesshomaru thought confusedly.

As Kagome's sobs withdrew once more, she drifted off into an uneasy sleep within the arms of the half-brother of Inuyasha.

Her restless sleep only made the youkai lord even more uneasy, her twisting and turning about was unbalancing him. Sighing, he came to a stop and sat her down against the back of a tree.

`Do I actually have to comfort this wench to get on my way again? Ugh, this had to happen to me, huh?" Sesshomaru thought resignedly.

He pulled Kagome into his lap and brushed the back of his hand against her cheek. When no reaction came, he pulled his hand back and began to run it through her hair instead.

Kagome's eyes fluttered open and she found herself staring into Sesshomaru's emotionless face.

Still afraid from her nightmare, she took the chance and leaned against him, hoping for even the least amount of comfort.

Sesshomaru stood once more, holding the girl delicately in his arms and began racing off again.

He neither comforted nor pushed the girl away, just allowed her to find comfort in the warmth of his chest as she slowly fell into a calm and steady state of sleep.

Sess: You have quite the imagination, Spring Angel. To think that I, Lord Sesshomaru, would ever enjoy the feeling of a human wench's head on my shoulder.

Me: * giggles * You didn't seem to mind my head being there last night, Fluffy!

Sess: * puts a finger on your lips * Hush, you silly human, I thought we agreed on keeping that secret.

Me: * throws her arms around Fluffy * You're so kawaii and cool and awesome, Fluffy!

Sess: * blushes and picks me up, carrying me into the bedroom and locking the door *

Kag: * knocks on door * Hello? Um....hello?
