InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Scottish Deceit ❯ Prologue
Okay before you start reading take time to read this little note:
Dearest Readers, (Blah, Blah, Blah! J/K)
I know I said I was going to have everything back up in a weeks time, but I ran into a few minor complication delaying the time release of each chapter. SO I'm going to do things like this I'm going to up load them as soon as I have them fixed that way they'll be outta my hair. Oh, and another thing I'm no longer naming the chapters because it just gets way too confusing when I'm trying to save my work, etc. Well here's chapter one I do not own Inuyasha and I will only say it once because I do not see the need in repeating it time and time again when you've most likely heard me the first time.
Oh, and Krystal I'd never forget my readers, lol especially you seeing that you review regularly. Okay go on start reading I'm done taking up your time.

~Disturbances In The Night~
Scotland 1513
The pounding could be heard all through out the Convent. Hushed whispers echoed through the stone halls, doors creaked opened, and bare feet were heard padding along the stone floor.
The endless pounding continued...
Most of the nuns, some twenty-five in all, who resided at the Convent, and pledged their lives to God knew full well to stay in bed, if they were needed they would be summoned by Mother Superior.
Mother Superior was a strong woman who would gladly answer to the name Kaede. The Convent was of course a place a refuge, but being disturbed in the dead of night like this was intolerable!
The thick wooden door seemed near to bursting as the pounding became more forceful.
Fully attired and beyond annoyed Mother Superior called out to the unidentified person or persons.
"Cease yer blasted pounding, or I will refuse ye entrance!" Mother Superior shouted. Her strong deep voice carried her demand with force.
She was pleased when the pounding abruptly stopped.
"Who bids entrance at such an hour?"
The reply came swiftly from a strong raspy, but husky male voice. "I bring and urgent message for Kagome Murray from her father, Sir Angus."
Mother Superiors' eyes widened in alarm. Her father Angus Murray had sent Kagome Murray to the Convent some 14 years ago with direct orders that she should take no vow. During the girl's stay at the Convent Kaede had taken a special liking toward the girl, everyone had.
Curiosity got the better of Mother Superior. "After all these years of disinterest and neglect wot would her father want with her now?"
The male on the other side of the convent doors was mildly annoyed, but kept it well hidden should it leak into his voice. "I'm afraid that this is a matter I can speak of only to Kagome. So ma'am will you bid me and my men entrance or not?"
"Ye and yer men may enter." Mother Superior flung open the doors, and was surprised when nearly a whole clan filed into the courtyard of the Convent.
The men seemed to have come straight from battle to the Convent walls. The men seemed utterly weary as if standing were too much to bear. But they remained afoot and bowed respectfully to Mother Superior.
Out of all the men who stood before her only one caught her eye. He was different that much she could tell; he also seemed to be the one leading this clan.
"And ye are?" She asked mainly out of concern for the poor virginal lasses that resided here in the Convent.
"I' am Inuyasha MacEnroy." His amber eyes slashed downward. "And it is urgent that I speak to Kagome."
Mother Superior had a strange feeling that this raven-haired, and amber-eyed Highlander was dismissing her.
"I must wake the lass." She paused after turning her back to him. "I will send someone down to help assist ye and yer men, and I will also have someone water yer horses."
Inuyasha nodded. "That would be much appreciated."
And with that Mother Superior rushed to wake the slumbering Kagome.

Kagome stared at mother Superior with alarmed and fearful eyes. "Are ye sure he said the message was from my father?"
"Yes child as sure as I' am standing here."
Kagome pulled her robes closer around her. "Well tis must be important for a message to come so late." Kagome slipped on her slippers and tied her belt tight around her waist so it did not open. "We should nay keep our visitors waiting."
***
Inuyasha's amber eyes narrowed as he watch the younger lasses tend to some his men. Feeding them and caring for their wounds.
He and his men had been there for all of an hour waiting for Angus Murray's daughter. He was growing impatient.
"This lass is taking up valuable time Miroku." Inuyasha murmured to a dark-haired man that sat to his right who was just as dirty as he.
Being Inuyasha's closest friend and highest in rank amoungst their warrior clan Miroku was accustomed to Inuyasha's impatient. "I know it's hard my friend but be patient." He paused and smiled a bit making his brown eyes twinkle. "Ah, here the lass comes now."
Inuyasha stood and turned in the direction of his prey not knowing what to expect, but once she was in his line of vision his breath hitched.
She was clad in a dull wool robe and her midnight-colored hair was pulled back into a tight bun not giving a hint to it's true length.
When she finally stood before him she leveled her beautiful yet strangely curious brown eyes on him. "To wot do I owe this encounter laird-?"
"Inuyasha, not laird, or sir, just Inuyasha."
Kagome nodded. "Alright… Inuyasha." She said testing his name on her lips.
For a painfully tense minute Inuyasha and Kagome stared at each other; she became aware of the fact she was in a roomful of men, and he aware of the fact that all that stood between him and her was her dull wool robe.
Kagome was beyond uncomfortable especially when she saw how Inuyasha's eyes had strayed. She coughed bring his gaze back up to her eyes. "So wot words do ye bring me from my father?" She asked.
Inuyasha looked around them and saw the cluster of nuns and men whom awaited what he was to say. "I think we should speak about this...Privately."
Kagome's eyes widen in horror, but before she could speak mother Superior stepped in for her. "Tis highly improper."
Inuyasha growled in irritation. "Well either I tell her privately." He hissed. "OR, I don't tell her at all!"
To Kagome, no news was good news. So Inuyasha's threat didn't really bother her that much.
Mother Superior sighed. "Alright ye two can speak alone in my chambers, but." She paused. "I shall be in attendance."
When Inuyasha stiffened his mouth, twisted up, and poised to protest Mother Superior raised her hand to silence him before he could get a word out. "Donna worry I shall nay speak of wot ye must say, to nay-one."
Shrugging slightly he thought to himself. "It will nay matter after a while." He smiled focusing on both women.
"If that is all that I can get then it shall have to do." He replied solemnly.
"Then follow me." Mother Superior said as she turned to make her way up the narrow steps leading to her chambers.
Kagome saw this walk as the end of her freedom, so she took each step slowly. She was in no hurry to end what happiness she had found here.
