Dismal Status and Compromising Situation

Wind whipped past the opening of the cave with the smell of early fall and blood. A brownish red oak leaf floated down to land on the shoe of a girl as she looked out of the opening of the cave to the scene that layed out before her. The body of the massive snake yokai laid littering the ground. Kagome looked down at her light blue sweater and jeans that weren't in any better state. Blood smeared across the sleeves and chest made for an almost tye dyed look to the blue sweater while mud made from sweat and blood stained her jeans. Kagome rubbed her hands together saying to herself, "Well, I guess I need to get this mess cleaned up."

Walking over to the larger part of the snake yokai, she called upon her miko powers. With the touch of her hand and a bright flash the parts disappeared into a fine ash that the wind carried away. When Kagome had the mess cleaned up she entered back into the damp cave. Inside Inuyasha laid upon her sleeping bag. He had not woke up since the fight with the snake yokai the evening before. It had been a rather bloody battle and Inuyasha was seriously hurt. The snake had bit into his chest right before the final blow from Tetsagia had severed its head. Inuyasha had managed to make it back into the cave before he had collapsed. Kagome made her way to Inuyasha's side and laid her cool hand against his forhead.

"Inuyasha can you hear me?" Kagome said a worried look crossing over her face.

Reaching for an old rag from her bookbag. Kagome wet the rag with cool water from one of her water bottles and placed it upon Inuyasha's forehead. He was burning up with a fever. Never for as long as Kagome had known Inuyasha had he had a fever. This did not bode well. It was just him and her on this trip. It had been 3 years since the defeat of Naraku and except for a few errant yokai everything was peaceful. They were on their way home when the snake yokai almost slithered into the cave they planned to stay in last night which lead to the current situation.

Kagome moved to the small fire where she had some water boiling for the Ramen that she had in her bag. Since her hunting trip earlier had failed to produce anything to eat it looker like it would be ramen tonight for her. After adding the right amount of water to the ramen she placed it down and let it sit until it was ready. Kogome turned and study Inuyasha profile in the firelight. He was so beautiful even in his fevered state. In the back of her mind Kagome began to wonder if he would ever know how she felt about him. How when he looked at her, it made her heart almost stop in her chest and her breath catch like she would never breath again. Right then Kagome made a choice.

"Yasha when you wake up I'm going to tell you how much I care about you.....how much I love you." Kagome whispered to herself.

Kagome reached for her backpack again and begain to sort through her cloths looking for her shampoo. The cave Inuyasha had found for them had a natural hot spring towards the back. "At least I can get these dirty cloths off and take a bath without leaving the cave." Kagome thought to herself. She made her way to the hotsprings and stripped out of her dirty cloths. taking note of the few cuts and bruises she had from the fight as well. Most of them from Inuyasha pushing her out of the way. Kagome remembered him yelling at her that she was going to get herself killed. Sighing to herself Kagome settled herself into the hot waters of the hotspring and looked towards Inuyasha as she pulled her knees up under her chin. "Please don't wake up now." Kagome said to herself as she started to wash the blood from her body. Red color played across her cheeks as she bathed. "I love him. Why shouldn't I want him to see me naked?" Kagome thought to herself.

With Kikyo out of the picture, Inuyasha was free from his promises to protect her. Kikyo rest her soul had used all her spiritual power and purified Naraku during the last battle. Kagome remembered Inuyasha holding the broken form of Kikyo in his arms telling her not to go but Kikyo had touched his face and told him that he had another to protect and to protect her always. When she had passed the part of Kagome's soul that she had returned to Kagome and with it came the rest of Kikyo's powers. Kagome became a even more powerful miko than what she had been previously. That was why the well remained opened. The wish made of the Shikon jewel had been pure and with the extra boost of miko power the job was done. Her wish was for everyone to be happy. Miroku and Sango finally married after the final battle with Naraku. With the wind tunnel no longer an issue Miroku felt it was time for Sango to make him an honest man. They had a little girl who looked just like her mama and named her Aiko. Sango was expecting another one in about 2 months so with a 2 year old Aiko, Sango was going to have her hands full. Shippo was staying with Kaeda to help the elder miko with chores. Sesshomaru took Kirara with him back to the western lands when she had expressed desire to try to shift to human form so she could speak with the other humans. Everyone had something they had to do which left Inuyasha and Kagome as the only ones to take care of attacking yokai. Miroku usually came but with his family growing again soon he thought it wise not to leave.

Stirring from her thoughts of the past Kagome sighed and looked at her pruning fingers and decided her bath had been long enough. She was tired and the sleeping bag was calling her name. Stepping from the hotspings Kagome dried herself and dressed in her nightshirt. The air in the cave was starting to chill even with the heat from the hotspring. Kagome moved to the fireside and picked up her Ramen. Looking into the cup with a dismal look on her face she decided she wasn't hungary after all. After dumping the contents of the cup outside the mouth of the cave she returned to Inuyasha's side. He was still feverish. "It's gonna get cold tonight." Kagome said outload as a shiver passed through her. "I guess for one night I will sleep with you and you can be mad at me tomorrow." Kagome thought to herself.

With that Kagome slipped into the sleeping bag with Inuyasha and snuggled into his side. "I'm going to pretend that for this night you love me as much as I love you." Kagome said into his ear as she drifted off into oblivion.

Her dream was real and vivid. She looked into Inuyasha's eyes as he lowed his head and began to nibble along her bottoms lip. She moaned into his mouth as he seized her in a blinding kiss. His clawed hand moved slowly along the outer curve of her breast in a loving caress. Kagome stepped deeper into his embrace as his hands skimmed her waist and lowed to run along the curve of her butt pulling her closer to the hard heat of him that pressed into her belly. Both let out moans of pleasure.

"Kagome please tell me your sure?" Inuyasha said looking into her eyes. "I know I never said it before but I love you, Kagome." Inuyasha said turning a bit red.

Reaching up Kagome touched Inuyasha on his lips and skimmed her finger across it in a sweet caress. "I love you too." Kagome said just above a whisper. With those words Inuyasha pulled her up to him and pressed her into the wall behind her. Wrapping her legs around his waist as leverage to hold her there he began an assult on her mouth again. His clawed hand made quick work of her shirt and her breasts were freed into his waiting hands. "Gods Kagome you are so soft." Inuyasha breather into her mouth. Her panties were the next thing to become rags as he removed them as well with a quick movement of his hands. Pressed as she was Kagome could feel the hard lenght of him pressed against her most intimant parts. The feeling brought heat to her blood like nothing she ever felt before. Reaching between them she caress him though his clothing. Her touch brought a hiss of pleasure to her ears as he ground against her. Bring her hand up Kagome loosened the knot that held up his hamika and pushed the fabric down as she caressed the smooth skin of his butt. Inuyasha nipped her neck with his teeth as the pleasure of touch took over. With Inuyasha free from his confining pants he began to probe at her entance. Kagome looked into his eyes and was slightly scared for a moment as she saw them bleed into red and them flash back to gold. "Please don't let him change not now." Kagome thought to herself. With that thought Inuyasha hit home and pain mixed with pleasure surged into her. Their lovemaking was wild. Kagome held on for dear life as Inuyasha look her into paradise again and again. She knew he was near when he swelled inside her and let out a howl of pleasure.

Kagome awoke in pleasure. "Wow now that is a dream." Kagome thought to herself. Preparing herself to turn over Kagome realized the pressure on top of her and in her at the same time. Opening her eye she was met by the blood red gaze of Yokai Inuyasha. "Oh crap it wasn't a dream after all." Kagome though in dismay. Inuyasha lowed his head to her throat and groweled low. Settling his face into her shoulder he fell asleep. Kagome then realize that they were tied together almost like dogs. She was stuck under a full yokai Inuyasha until his his body decided to released hers.

With great effots Kagome finally managed to push Inuyasha off of her, rolling him to her side. Rolling to her side and raising up on her elbows Kagome looked down into Inuyasha's face. After what had just happened she had hope to see something, anything that might suggest he knew what happened. All she saw was a sound asleep hanyo. Reaching for her bag Kagome made another trip to the hot spring to was blood from her yet again. Only this time it wasn't Inuyashas but her own.
