Chapter VI
Contemplating
Kagome looked up the tall yellow building smiling to herself. "I guess I'll drop by and see what Miroku is up to." She skipped up the few steps that were there and proceeded into the lobby. Kagome reached in her sports bag extracting out her phone only to call him. The phone constantly rang until all she heard was: Hello, you have reached Miroku and Hojo and if were not answering we might me busy then Kagome heard giggling then it beeped. She pressed a button on her phone that was to disconnect her.
Kagome stood there pondering
"Mmm. I wonder why Miroku isn't here." Kagome reached in her pocket and pulled out a set of keys, one of them belonging to his loft room that he gave her awhile ago incase something would ever happen.
He wouldn't mind if I were to check up on his room and see if everythings okay. Kagome thought to herself.
She walked up to the elevators doors. Kagome grunted in frustration as it read: Out Of Order in big sloppy red letters.
"I guess I'll have to take the stairs." She groaned because she didn't want to after she was still sore from her workout with InuYasha. When Kagome arrived at the third floor she walked down the big hallway until she reached 301. She fumbled with the key a bit before slipping it in and opening the door. Kagome walked in the immaculate loft. She always loved the taste of her friend and felt a sting in her heart because he was leaving. She walked around, checking that the room was free of anybody until she heard noise from the backroom.
"What was that?'' Kagome grabbed her mase and slowly walked to the room from where the weird sound was coming from. She pushed the door opened only to find Hojo and Miroku in bed together. Kagome screamed at the top of her lungs. Miroku and Hojo scrambled on the bed trying to cover themselves.
"Kagome! What in the world are you doing in here?!"
"I...I....I'm sorry. It's just that you didn't answer you phone and I was worried." She then began to think about the what the answer machine stated and was clearly understanding why they put it on there.
"You didn't have to worry about me and as you can see we're fine!"
Kagome let out a crooked smile.
"Yes, I can tell that you two are getting along great."
Miroku blushed from head to toe. "Kagome!"
"Okay, I'll see you later. Bye Hojo, nice seeing you." She closed the door and skipped out the loft.
Kagome rested her head on the hard wood door smiling goofily to herself unbelieving the sight she just saw. She shook her head as she proceeded out.
Later on InuYasha was sitting in the chair across from his boss that was waiting impatiently on the other hand in his plot. The room was filled with an eerie silence until it was broken as Mr. Higurashi slammed his fist against the desk making InuYasha jump a little.
"Where the hell is that girl? I am getting impatient."
"I can see." InuYasha joked.
"This is no time for games, InuYasha." Mr. Higurashi's dark voice rumbled.
Then Kagura came flying through the door.
"Where in the hell have you been?"
She sat next to InuYasha who was smiling at her then stopped to realize something was very wrong with her today
Damn! What in the world happened to her? InuYasha thought to himself.
"Answer me!" Mr. Higurashi roared.
She glared him then turned to Higurashi.
"I'm sorry. I just got caught up in something."
Mr. Higurashi squinted his eyes as he searched Kagura's face.
"What in hell happened to your face?" He said in, what seemed like, a concerned voice. She hung her head ashamed of showing her boss. "Did that bastard hit you?!"
Kagura kept silent.
"Answer me, Kagura. Did he beat on you?!" His voice dripped with anger.
"It's not a really big deal. It's a few minor bruises and cuts."
Minor! Is she crazy! It looks likes she's been in a car accident. InuYasha slowly realized what this Naraku was all about, hitting on innocent women and such. "I'll handle that bastard, Mr. Higurashi!" InuYasha yelled.
"I know you think you can, but Naraku is more powerful than you think." Kagura said.
"He's nothing more than a coward if he beats on women! We'll take that bastard out!" InuYasha said.
Kagura turned to InuYasha not believing that he was caring about her. InuYasha returned her look with a reassuring one.
"All shit aside let's discuss the real reason I brought you guys here. I want to take down Naraku and steal his dealers away from him. Kagura, I want you to take care of telling Naraku's dealers to come on my side of the tracks."
"And what if they refuse." Kagura said.
"If they refuse, kill them. As for you, InuYasha, I want you to take care of Naraku, but don't kill that bastard bring him to me so I can take care of the slimy slug."
InuYasha nodded.
Later on Kagome walked into her homely loft only finding it dark and empty. She couldn't see anything but the small light coming from the waxing crescent from the sky.
"Hello? Sango, are you here?'' Then she heard rustling in the back.
Kagome walked slowly towards Sango's room.
"Sango, is that you?" She then opened Sango's bedroom door finding it empty.
Kagome then released a relieving sigh.
"I must be going crazy." Kagome said as she walked back to the living room finding a tall, dark image in the middle of it.
Kagome stopped dead in her tracks wanting to scream, but didn't have the air to. The image ran quickly for her but Kagome ran around the couch trying to get to the door but tripped on the end table. She fell to the floor holding her knee wincing in pain. Then the image loomed over her. He raised a long steel pole over her.
"Please, don't. Please!"
InuYasha walked into his small apartment rubbing his neck from the stressfilled day he had. He walked over to his picture window and opened up the curtains. He looked over to Kagome's loft finding it awful dark. InuYasha used his bat like eyes to see what was going on. He could see a strange dark man in the room with a stick, or something.
His eyes widened.
"Oh, shit! Kagome!"
InuYasha ran out of his apartment in across the street and up the stairs to Kagome's loft. He kicked the door opened and turned on the lights revealing a man with dark hair and piercing blue eyes hitting a screaming Kagome with a steel pole.
InuYasha snapped.
His eyes turned purple and red, his fangs, and nails grew longer and sharper. InuYasha then pounced on the guy tearing him to shreads with his nails.
Kagome arose from the floor now seeing that her hero was InuYasha and her attacker non other than Kouga. She then realized that InuYasha wasn't himself and was killing Kouga.
"InuYasha, stop! You're killing him." Kagome screamed.
He wasn't listening to her. His plans was set on destroying the guy that attacked her.
Kagome pounced on InuYasha's back. He spun around with his claws pointed at her face. She looked at his devilish eyes and her chest rose in fell in fear. InuYasha was about to strike then he stopped. By this time, Kouga had ran out of the door and Kagome and InuYasha stared at each other both breathing harder than ever.
Then InuYasha world went black.
Later on Sango arrived at the loft seeing InuYasha knocked on the couch and Kagome in the kitchen fixing some tea.
"Kagome! What the hell happened here?" Sango as she looked around her loft that was a mess.
"Oh, Sango I was so scared. My old boyfriend broke into the loft and tried to kill me."
Sango ran over to Kagome.
"Are you okay?"
"Somewhat." Kagome then lifted her sleeve revealing a large purplish, blue spot covering her arm.
"We should take you to the hospital?"
"I'm fine." Kagome took the pot of tea and poured it two cups.
"So, why is he here?" Sango asked gesturing towards InuYasha.
"He saved me." Kagome smiled to herself then walked over to InuYasha with the cups of tea. She knelt down next to the couch, gently nudging him in the arm.
InuYasha began to groan and turn before he opened his amber eyes only to matched with a pair of grayish-blue.
"Where the hell am I?"
"Are you okay?"
"I should be asking you that."
He rose up bringing in his knees to support his arms on them.
"I'm not worried about me. I'm worried about your safety."
"Well, you don't have to worry. Is that tea for me?" He pointed to cup.
Kagome eagerly handed the cup.
InuYasha took it then noticed the bruise on her arm.
"What's that on your arm?" He said setting the cup on a nearby table.
Kagome covered her the spot.
"I'm fine."
"No your'e not." He grabbed her arm and inspected it.
"Kagome, you need to go to the hospital." Sango said.
“I’m fine! I’m not going to the hospital.”
Sango threw her hands up. “But I am going to get the first-aid kit.” Sango left to the back room.
Kagome sat on the heels of her feet and sipped the cup of tea in her hand.
“Why are you acting so non-chalant about this?” InuYasha concerned.
Kagome shrug her shoulders.
“It’s happens. I’m kind of use to things like this.”
“What do you mean?”
Kagome shook her head.
“Nothing.”
She then got up and proceeded to the kitchen.
InuYasha stormed off the couch.
“Who in the hell’s been hitting you?!”
“Just drop it, okay.”
InuYasha just sighed.
“Forget it.”
“Why do you want know anyway?”
“I..I..I...”
Then Sango came back with the first aid kit.
“Kagome, it’s not safe here.”
She said as she pulled out some bandages, ointment, and alcohol.
“What are you talking about?”
“I’m talking about we should leave and lay low for a couple weeks. I already arranged to move in with my grandmother.”
“Well, what about me? Where will I live?”
“Don’t you have some family members?”
Kagome shuddered of the thought of living with her father.
“What about you, InuYasha?” she said as she looked over to him.
“No, no, no. I will NOT have a little brat like you living in my apartment.”
“Please!”
InuYasha folded his arms.
“I’m putting my foot down.”
Later on Kagome was walking in InuYasha’s apartment and he shortly follwed with her suitcase.
“You sure do pack light.” He said as he set down her luggage then shut the door.
Kagome turned around to face him.
“Well, I don’t have a lot of money or anything for that matter.”
Kagome walked over to the couch and sat down.
"Your home it's a little more homely than the view I get from the loft."
InuYasha whipped his head around.
"What?!"
Kagome quickly knew that she shouldn't have said anything so she covered her mouth.
InuYasha stormed over to her and stood infront of her.
"What'd you say, wench?!"
Kagome shook her head.
"Nothing."
"You mean to tell me that you bitches have been watching me from your little loft."
Kagome took her hands off her mouth.
"I'm sorry."
"Sorry?! What do you mean sorry? My apartment is my private place and....."
Kagome zoned out on InuYasha's yelling because she noticed the big giant picture window behind him and she could see and great deal of her loft.
"InuYasha?"
"Sometimes I walk around naked....huh?"
"You can see in my loft from here." She said as she pointed to the window behind him.
InuYasha turned around and chuckled nervoulsy.
"Well, see what had happened was...."
Kagome mumered something about stupid bastard then walked out to the bathroom shutting the door.
InuYasha followed.
"Hey, wench! Don't try to turn this on me. You can see me just as much as I can see you. Maybe even more since my window is bigger than yours."
Kagome creaked the door open.
"I guess so. I'm sorry for watching you work out and walk around naked."
Inuyasha pants tightened at this.
This girl saw me naked and she going to be staying here. How will I make through the night?
"And I'm sorry for watching Sango eat you out."
Kagome eyes widened.
"You saw that!" She then shut the door.
He banged on the door.
"Hey, come on. Get the hell out of there. I have to get ready for bed."
"No!" Kagome detached voice yelled from the bathroom.
"Fine. See if I care."
InuYasha walked over to the couch and plopped down on it.
"What a stupid bitch."
