Disclaimer: …this is pointless…. I think everyone knows already…

A/N: I am deeply, truly sorry for the lateness of this chapter. ::looks at calendar:: wow, an entire week behind schedule…sorry. Anyways, here is the next chapter…

Misviscious: ::bangs head on desk:: ouch. Ohmigosh, I can't believe that I am so stupid. (lol). Thank you for pointing out my mistakes for me, I really appreciate it. Hmm… media force work is currently ranked second in my `list of careers', but for now, I have my eyes set on astrology. ::goes dreamily eyed:: Ah yes, the wonderful world of planets and stars. Yep, when it comes to security, it sucks in my story. (lol). Good author licensing sure comes in handy sometimes. By the way, I noticed that you are nominated for the annual awards in Single Spark; well, I wish you the best of luck and I hope you will win. (I nominated you for a few categories too, so I hope you don't mind). Thanks for reading my story and I hope you like this chapter.

Chapter 6: Dinner by the Beach

Dream squeal:

She could hear her heart pounding loudly as her legs moved back and forth in a running motion; but she was covering no distance. Gasping, she struggled to breathe but no air entered her lungs. A hand suddenly shot forth and roughly grasped her neck, choking out what little oxygen she had and preventing her from screaming.
“Did you think you could ever get away from me?” came a man's voice, laced with mockery and malice. “You belong to me and no one else, understand? No one else.”

End dream squeal:

Kagome woke with a start and her eyes fluttered opened as her clear, azure orbs graced the world once again. Still foggy from sleep, she wiped away the small droplets of sweat that had gathered on her forehead. Putting a hand over her chest to calm her racing heart, Kagome thought back to her dream…or as one would call it, her nightmare. `What could it have meant?' she pondered. Not wanting to fall asleep again, incase the dream would return, the singer turned her head and looked out the window, gazing in silent admiration at the beautiful, glowing full moon that tainted the blanket of night sky. Slowly, she rose from her bed and quietly walked to her closet. Pulling on a pair of jeans and a shirt over her nightclothes, Kagome grabbed her jacket and silently walked out the door, careful not to wake the other sleeping bachelorettes.

Once she was outside in the garden, Kagome smiled softly, breathing in the fresh, night air. The garden was nearly pitched black except for the occasional lightings that decorated the place, casting gentle glows over the neatly arranged flowers and bushes. Directing her gaze to the trees at the far back, Kagome watched as they gracefully swayed to the wind, like dancing shadows in a background of night sky.

“What are you doing here?” a deep, formal voice from behind asked the singer.
Recognizing the voice of which belonged to the bachelor, Kagome turned and faced him. “I couldn't sleep,” she answered sheepishly. “So I came for a stroll.”
Sesshoumaru gave a slight nod and walked casually to her side. “Same here.”

Another comfortable silence fell over the two again as they both turned their attention back to their nighttime surroundings, quietly enjoying the company of each other.
“Kagome,” Sesshoumaru began, his face blank and his tone smooth as silk. “I want to invite you for another date tomorrow. After all, I gathered that the last one wasn't very enjoyable.”
A warm smile lighted the singer's face and her expressive blue eyes shone in delight. “I would love to.”
The corner of Sesshoumaru's lips tugged upward ever so slightly before returning back to its original, straight position. “We will be going to the beach and have dinner there.”
However, an idea instantly popped into Kagome's head and she grinned innocently, as if hiding something from him. “How about if we make it a double date,” she suggested, her eyes twinkling with amusement.
Sesshoumaru quirked an eyebrow at her but said nothing. By seeing the look on Kagome's eyes, he knew that she was planning something mischievous.

---------------------------------

Hugging her black, leather coat closer to her body to block out the chilling night air, Kagura arrived to the same old, beat down building. Upon entering, she angrily stormed up the flights of stairs until she reached the top floor. Once there, she roughly kicked opened the door to Naraku's apartment and walked in uninvited.

From the corner of the room, a pair of piercing black eyes watched her dully as his voice came from within the dark shadows. “How nice of you to visit again, cousin.”
“Cut the crap, Naraku.” Kagura demanded. “My mind has changed; I'm going to kill Kagome instead.”
Slowly, Naraku emerged from the depth of the shadows and steadied his gaze on the eliminated bachelorette. “You will do no such thing,” he ordered, his voice low and frigid. “The deal is already made, Kagura; Sesshoumaru will be yours. That, I can guarantee.”
“And pray tell, what exactly are you planning to do? Sesshoumaru rejected me; he doesn't want me anymore.” Kagura pointed out impatiently, frustrated tears gathering at the corner of her eyes.
Naraku chuckled humorlessly. “Be patient, cousin; I have the perfect plan.” He began in his usual chilling voice. “Just leave it all to me.”

---------------------------------

It was early morning once again in the city of New York and Kagome had already woken, still skimming up her perfect little plan. Taking out her cell phone, she dialed her manager's number.
“Hey, Miroku.” Kagome greeted.
“Need something, Kag?” Miroku asked from the other end of the conversation, his voice still slow and slurred from sleep.
“Well… I was wondering, are you doing anything tonight?”
“Kagome, I am honored that you want to go out with me!” Miroku replied back, grinning in a lecherous manner.
The singer blushed, wishing that he were here with her, so that she could slap him on the face. “It's not what you think, pervert.” Kagome muttered, her face red in embarrassment. “I just thought maybe you could go out with a friend of mine for tonight.”
“Hmm...” Miroku answered, rubbing his chin thoughtfully. “It depends, is your friend pretty?”
“Oh, most definitely.”
“Okay, I'll go.”
“Alright, Sesshoumaru and I will pick you up at around 7.” Kagome replied, grinning from ear to ear. Just then, she spotted Sango heading into the room. “I have to go now,” she quickly mumbled. “Dress properly for the beach. Bye!”

Snapping her phone shut, Kagome looked up at Sango and smiled innocently. “Good morning.”
Sango surveyed the singer closely and her eyes narrowed in suspicion. “You are up to something, aren't you?”
Kagome grinned. “Well… I am going to the beach with Sesshoumaru tonight, and I was wondering if you could come with me.”
“No way, Kag.” Sango said, shaking her head. “I am not interested in him.”
“Please, Sango.” The singer begged, a hint of desperation laced through in her voice. “Pretty please…. with sugar on top.”
Sango smiled at her friend's childlike manner. “Alright,” she agreed, giving in to her pleas. “I'll go.”
“Yes!” Kagome cheered excitedly, raising her hands in victory. “I even got a date for you.”
The entire room immediately fell silent until…“You what?!” Sango all but shouted at the singer, her deep brown eyes burning in disbelief.
Kagome laughed innocently and started to draw little circles on the floor with her foot; a habit that she had grew accustomed to do whenever she was nervous. “Yeah, umm…I managed to get a date to go along with you.”
“Who is he?” Sango demanded, none too please with what her friend did.
“I'm not telling you; it's a surprise.” Kagome answered back with a wink. “Please come. You haven't been on a date ever since you arrived here, except the picnic. Besides, you might even like him.” She continued, grinning knowingly.
Sango blushed but said nothing. Turning around, she stormed out the room in a huff.
“I'll take that as a `yes',” Kagome called out after her. Mischief danced within the depths of the singer's cerulean eyes and her full lips curled upward in a smile. Indeed, setting your friends up can be quite tricky, but very much amusing.

---------------------------------

“I can't believe that I am doing this,” Sango murmured under her breath as she applied on a small amount of makeup, getting herself ready for the date with the anonymous man.
Kagome went over and patted her on the shoulder. “Come on, having dinner on a sandy beach and watching the sunset is going to be one blast of a time.”

After several minutes of getting dressed and prepared, the two girls left the mansion and walked up to a black jeep that was waiting for them outside. With grace that would make anyone envious, Sesshoumaru opened the door of the car, and stepped out from the driver's seat before sparing a glance over at Sango. Nodding curtly to the two bachelorettes in greeting, the bachelor silently climbed back to the driver's seat with Kagome sitting beside him on the passenger seat, and Sango at the back. Starting the engine, Sesshoumaru drove the car down the mansion's driveway and unto the traffic roads, where it would take them to a near by beach. But first, they have a hotel to get to.

---------------------------------

“Why are we stopping at a hotel?” Sango asked as she looked out the window. The car had pulled to a stop in front of the giant, expensive building and Kagome was looking out the window every now and then, as if waiting for someone.
“To pick up your date,” Kagome replied back with a teasing smile.

Soon, a man, whom Sango recognized as Kagome's manager, walked up to the car and gave them a friendly wave.
Kagome laughed and turned her attention back to Sango. “Your date is here,” she said with a wink.
Sango's mouth dropped opened in shock and she steadied her gaze at Miroku, who also had a stunned expression pasted on his face. “You set me up with your manager!?” She screeched.
Kagome winced and giggled nervously. “Umm…well, you see…he was free and you were free, so I thought it would be a great opportunity…for the both of you to get to know each other more.”
Sango huffed as Miroku opened the back door of the car and settled himself next to her.
“I swear,” Miroku began, holding out his hand. “I had nothing to do with this. Kagome only invited me to the beach.”
Sango rolled her eyes but then, she noticed that his hands were wandering a bit too close for comfort towards her lower rear. “Keep your hands to yourself or I will chop it off for you,” she threatened between clenched teeth, a hint of red gracing her cheeks.

And so, for the rest of the drive to the beach, all was uneventful except for Miroku's wandering hands and the constant screams of `pervert', followed by countless slaps that he received from the embarrassed bachelorette sitting next to him. Meanwhile, Kagome was struggling to hold back her laughter from seeing Sango's blushing red face, although she failed miserably. And Sesshoumaru was trying to stay focus on driving and not at all the commotions that were happening behind him; although he must admit, it was quite entertaining to watch Miroku get beat up by a woman.

---------------------------------

“We're here!” Kagome chirped as she stepped out of the car and onto the beach's sandy shore.
“It's beautiful,” Sango whispered, gazing out into the surrounding and what seemed to be, an endless blue ocean.
Miroku grinned, thinking that it was the perfect opportunity to make his advances while she was distracted with admiring at the sea. Unfortunately, his perverted move was met with another slap in the face.

Before long, a wavy, black haired man dressed formally in a waiter's tuxedo with a small bowtie came up to the four adults. “Welcome, Mr. Taisho and company,” the man said, his voice smooth yet chilling. “I shall be your waiter for the evening.” Looking up, he spared the others no glance as he settled his eyes hungrily on Kagome. Slowly, his lips curled upward in a greedy, secretive smile.
Kagome shivered under his scrutinizing gaze and was very thankful when Sesshoumaru cleared his throat to get the waiter's attention.
“Show us to our table,” he ordered coldly.
The waiter said nothing but silently led the four to their preserved table, which was located outdoor in the middle of the sandy beach, where they could enjoy the full view of the clam ocean. Following him from behind, Sesshoumaru's eyes slightly narrowed in suspicion. He did not miss the look that the waiter gave Kagome, and he certainly didn't miss the hint of greed that swirled within the depths of his black eyes.

“This will be your table,” the anonymous male waiter announced as he pointed to a smooth, wooden table with four chairs around it. A little too politely, he held out a chair for Kagome to sit down, and took out a lighter to light the candles that were placed in the center of the rounded table. When everyone had settled down on their seats, the waiter handed each of them a leather-bounded menu.

“Oh, there is too many dishes to choose from,” Sango said as she scanned her menu.
“I agree,” Kagome replied. Although she had tasted American food before when she was back at Japan, the singer still wasn't very familiar with the many different varieties of food that America has to offer.
Instantly, the waiter had walked back to her side again. “Our special grilled chicken with Caesar salad is very delicious, I believe you should try it.” He suggested, placing a hand on her shoulder.
Kagome forced a smile and wiggled slightly to sit on the far side of her chair, trying to put as much distance as possible between them. For some reason, she just doesn't feel comfortable around that guy.

Pretty soon, much to the relief of Kagome, everyone else placed down their orders on what they wanted and the nameless waiter finally left to bring back their food.
“He likes you,” Sango whispered teasingly to Kagome as she watched the waiter's retreating form.
The singer shivered and unconsciously, she edged her chair closer to Sesshoumaru's.
Sesshoumaru had watched closely at the waiter's close contact with Kagome, and he had to bit back a growl when he placed his filthy hand on her shoulder. Somehow, he had the feeling that the guy was not to be trusted.

In a matter of minutes, the same waiter returned back to their table with a sliver tray filled with plates of their orders. Slowly, he lowered each plate onto the table, careful not to get too close to the burning candles. When he reached Kagome, he smirked at her and expertly laid down her plate in front of her, deliberately brushing his arm against hers' at the process. Another shiver ran down Kagome's spine and she forced herself to smile up at him in thanks.
Sesshoumaru directed his cold, smoldering amber gaze towards him. “Leave; we will call you back if you are needed.” He ordered, waving the waiter off.
The waiter tossed him a stony glare but did as he was told, leaving the foursome to enjoy their meal.

“Thanks,” Kagome said to the bachelor and smiled genuinely, making sure that the waiter was away from hearing range. “For a second there, I though he was never going to leave.”
Sesshoumaru acknowledged her thanks with a slight nod before turning back to his food. However, his mind kept traveling back to the anonymous waiter and the little voice in his head that continued to yell `danger' and `caution.'
“Pervert!” came Sango's all-time famous scream, breaking Sesshoumaru off from his chain of thoughts as she slapped the man sitting beside her, making sure that it would leave a bruise.
“Sango, I am innocent,” Miroku quickly rushed to defend himself. “I was merely brushing off some dirt on your lap.”
Sango snorted in reply before wracking him on the head again, a blush rising to her face. Yep, karate lessons sure come in handy sometimes.

Kagome watched the whole exchange with a playful glint twinkling in her azure orbs. “They seem to be getting along fine,” she began shyly with a wink towards Miroku and Sango. No, she's not an expert when it comes to reading body language, but even a blind person can see that sparks were definitely flying between those two, no matter how much Sango tries to hide it. Kagome turned her attention back to Sesshoumaru, whom had barely said a word except for the few orders that he gave to the anonymous waiter. “Why are you so quiet this evening?”
The bachelor looked at her with his unemotional facade. “What is there to say?” he asked indifferently.
Kagome sighed. “Yeah, I forgot; you are always this quiet.” Breaking eye contact with him, the singer glanced down on her plate of untouched food and began to eat it in dainty nibbles. All too soon, dusk came forth, tainting the open sky as the sun began to set under the horizon, casting rays of golden light to sprinkle across the sandy beach. Sango and Miroku became engrossed in a deep conversation of who knows what, leaving Sesshoumaru and Kagome all to themselves.

“Come with me for a walk,” Sesshoumaru whispered to Kagome's ear as he held out his hand.
Kagome smiled sweetly in agreement before getting up from her chair and lacing her slender fingers through his'. Tenderly holding hands, the two left their table and plates of barely touched food to walk across the shore of the sandy beach.

---------------------------------

“It's one of the most beautiful sunset that I have ever seen,” Kagome breathily pointed out, her full attention at the setting sun that continued to dip below the horizon.
Sesshoumaru inwardly sighed. He's never going to understand why women like sunsets so much.
“Because it's romantic,” the singer answered, as if reading his mind. Turning her head slightly, she lowered her gaze to the calm waves of the deep ocean, her mind in deep thoughts “So much has changed in the past few weeks since I came here.” Kagome began, more like she was talking to herself.
“So it has,” Sesshoumaru replied smoothly.
“If I haven't come to this show, do you think we would still be hating each other over some silly misunderstanding?”
“Perhaps.”
“Such a shame isn't it?” Kagome asked, sadness swirled within her cerulean hues. “It took us eleven whole years to just sort through our past; we wasted eleven years hating each other.”

Gently, Sesshoumaru wrapped his well-toned, muscular arms around the singer's petite waist and hugged her tiny frame against his strong body. “No use beating yourself over the past,” he replied, his tone so soft and caring that he surprised even himself. “We can let go of what happened and move on.”
Kagome smiled and buried her head against his broad shoulder. “Sesshoumaru, you are so full of surprises.” She began, still smiling softly. “One minuet, you are a cold, emotionless businessman; and the next, you are a warm, kindhearted gentleman.”
“Kindhearted?” Sesshoumaru asked, his eyebrow arched unnoticeably for half a millimeter.
The bachelorette giggled and lightly punched him on the arm playfully. “Don't try to deny it; there is a soft spot under that stoic exterior of yours'.”
“Maybe,” was the one worded reply that she received from the man beside her.
Sesshoumaru watched as Kagome's rosy lips tugged upward into one of her famous smile again; the same smile that had always managed to find a way into his icy heart. `Perhaps, just one taste,” the bachelor thought as he looked at her soft, tempting lips. Lowering his head, Sesshoumaru gently brushed his lips against Kagome's in a soft, cherished kiss. However, before the kiss had barely begun, he slowly pulled back and gazed at the bachelorette's face. Kagome's cheeks were flushed in a light shade of pink and her sapphire eyes were clouded in daze.

“What was that for?” Kagome quietly asked as she recovered from her fazed state, surprise and happiness dawning her ocean blue eyes.
Sesshoumaru merely smirked. “I have my reasons.”
Before long, the two were once again wrapped in a gentle embrace as they both shared another tender moment together. Overhead, the sun continued to shine every so brightly even as it sets, looking over the couple and a silent witness to the beginning of their relationship.

---------------------------------

“They seem to be getting along fine,” Sango pointed out teasingly, copying the same line that Kagome had said to her, as she watched the singer embraced the bachelor.
“Yeah,” Miroku agreed quietly.
Suddenly, Sango felt an all-too-familiar hand on her lap again. “Can't you just stop doing that for more than ten second?!” Sango exclaimed as she placed another slap on his already swollen cheeks.
“It can't be help, Sango.” Miroku replied dreamily, rubbing his bruised face. “I cannot resist when there is such a beautiful maiden sitting next to me.”
Another blush immediately tainted Sango's face as she quickly turned her head away, murmuring something about lecherous men and their perverted ways.

---------------------------------

Hidden from view behind a tree, Naraku watched in growing frustration as Sesshoumaru and Kagome shared another kiss together, careless of the world around them. Roughly, he yanked off the small bowtie that he had to wear as a waiter, and tossed the piece of fabric to the sand covered ground. “I swear, Taisho,” he whispered hoarsely between clenched teeth. “You will not get away with this.” Unnoticed by almost everyone, Naraku quietly walked away from the scene.

In the middle of filming the kiss that the bachelor and bachelorette were sharing, one of the cameramen caught a dark figure moving out of the corner of his eyes. Turning around, he directed his camera on the retreating man whom he came to recognize as the waiter that was serving them. `Hey, isn't that the creepy waiter guy?' the cameraman asked himself as his television camera continued to tape the man's retreating form. Once the anonymous waiter had disappeared from sight, the cameraman merely shrugged before turning his camera and attention back to Sesshoumaru and Kagome.

A/N: And that's the end of chapter 6; thank you for being patient with me. Yeah, I managed to squeeze in a Sess/Kag moment…sorry, but I am still new at writing those making out scenes and stuff. Anyways, the ending paragraph about the cameraman filming Naraku's retreating form; please keep it in mind for it will play a very important part as the story progresses farther.

And now, to answer some questions:

1. Please don't ask me how Naraku knew that Kagome was going to the beach with Sesshoumaru, or how he managed to land a job as a waiter there. It doesn't matter much and personally, I haven't decided for myself either. So, I will leave it for your own, creative imagination to decide.

2. Kagura and Naraku are family; well, cousins actually, and they are both skimming up a plan to capture the heart of their desire: Sesshoumaru and Kagome.

3. There is no connection between Kagura and Naraku with Sesshoumaru and Kagome; they are not families or friends or anything. Kagura and Naraku are only two crazy, obsessive, dangerous fans/stalkers that are doing whatever it takes to capture the two stars. Kagura wants Sesshoumaru but Kagome is in the way, so she wants to kill her. Naraku wants Kagome but Sesshoumaru is in the way, so he wants to kill him. I hope that clears some confusion…

4. A few people have asked if I watch The Bachelor and my answer is no, although I would like to, but I just don't have enough spare time. However, I do have a trusty friend who watch it; so, she gives me all the info that I need.

Well… that's it for now. I hope you like this chapter and hopefully, I will get the next chapter finish by next week. However, writer's block is a nightmare and it makes writing VERY difficult for me. Bye.
