InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Sen Nen (A Thousand Years) ❯ Prologue
[ X - Adult: No readers under 18. Contains Graphic Adult Themes/Extreme violence. ]
I haven't written in a very very very long time.. I'm not even sure I know what I'm doing either, haha. But when the plot came to me, I couldn't help it.
So I'm going to where my mind knows best.
InuYasha, whom is owned by the lovely Rumiko Takahashi.
I totally don't own any of the characters and claim none of the rights.
The only thing that is for certain right now, is that there will be gore.
I'm not sure I'll even go into writing lemons.
If it's needed, it'll come up.
So yeah.
After a few years on hiatus, I'm going to try and make a comeback. :p
I promise that I will do everything in my power to finish this story, even if it takes forever.
Read & Review, let me know if you like it! c:
I have died everyday waiting for youDarling don't be afraid I have loved youFor a thousand yearsI'll love you for a thousand more
'A thousand years' - Christina Perri
"I adore you, my lord. You, the one who is so proud and seemingly vain. Who grew from nothing, buried in the soil, into a God among man. Armies rallied against you, yet they crumbled against your strength in the palm of your battle-worn hands. The Gods themselves were too scared to smite you, fearing your quick retribution. You, who has conquered countries & taken so many lives. The one who spun words of gold, seducing countless duchesses & queens, only to leave their beds empty by morning. You, who melted against my lips, as if your day began with my eyes as your night ended with my embrace. I was your only weakness, you sang softly, whispering sweetly in my ear. Your Achilles' heel. Your heart. Your own. So heart-wrenching, that a mere mortal girl could bring you to your knees.."'A thousand years' - Christina Perri
His golden eyes glistened, moist as the last word fell from her lips. Heart-wrenching indeed, yet worth the so called weakness she awakened within him. He loved the way she spoke, relying heavily on the English influenced speech. His little raven haired love. InuYasha blinked away the small tear that threatened to break loose from the rims of his eyes and smiled at his beloved. Today, she would no longer be his intended. This was the next step to furthering their lives as one. She was his betrothed, the woman he wanted by his side for the rest of his days. This wasn't just about cementing the alliance, though their union would very well better the political and social interests of both of their families. No, this was about love. So rarely did two individuals have the luck of choosing their partner. InuYasha was lucky in this. He had avoided all of the Omiai, or arranged marriages, his father laid before him.
He wanted nothing more to take her shaking hands in his, but he already knew that it was unorthodox that she was speaking before the monk chanted from his sutra. It didn't matter that this wasn't traditional. He had lived for so long and in so many places. He had witnessed so many different forms of the union between two people. She had wanted to speak, when he told her sometimes it happened in ceremonies in other countries. He couldn't deny her, when she had asked while looking up at him with this chocolate brown eyes, large and round as a fearful doe. He chuckled softly to himself, deciding he'd keep his words simple but no less meaningful than her own.
"I have watched from my dreams, the way perfection was formed. The way the Gods spun locks from the darkened night sky & painted your face with the sun's warmth. The stars, placed so harmoniously within your eyes. You bring me no weakness, yet you are my own. My heart. I belong only to you, for now and until the land cries from our deaths. My eternity, I shall spend with you."
Those starry eyes, the ones he so openly adored, stared back at him lovingly as the monk began his part, reciting his verses. InuYasha paid him little attention as he took in the site of her. Her kimono was simple, yet was so extravagant in it's detail. She was wearing creamy white, a lighter shade of sesame seeds. And though to the passer-by, it would seem extremely plain, the stitching in the fabric sparkled against the soft robe. The thread was a pale green and swirled in a floral pattern that befitted her delicate features. Her dark hair that was pulled up shined heavenly, small dark tresses fell against her face. He was pleased that she hadn't painted her face white, something he had always hated. Her skin was already naturally pale in contrast to his slightly bronzed flesh. She seemed made of magical porcelain, softer than any alabaster, yet carved from the most perfect of stones.
Soon, the monk motioned to the both of them and then handed InuYasha a small bowl filled with sake. He sipped from it and then offered it to his love. It was done. By the world's standards, they were one. A single being made from two, bound in a special tie only death could sever.
She couldn't help but smile at her new husband. She still couldn't believe that this was real. They were together at last. How long had her wait been? Five years? Ten even? Her entire life perhaps, she had waited for him. He was older than her entire family's name and yet she knew him and his love. Her soul knew him, as did her heart. From the first moment she had seen him at the tender age of nine, she had known. That he was her beloved. She had promised herself to him even though she knew it was silly. The first reason had been because of their ages. She was merely a child at that time, even if she knew so much more than any of the other children. He had been as old as time she thought, even before she learned it had been true. The second reason had been their class. Her father had been a Samurai, and for that her family held a high status. InuYasha's grandfather had been a Daimyo lord. This wouldn't have been a problem perhaps, if they were human, but they weren't. InuYasha came from a long line of inuyoukai, demons that could take on the form of a dog in their full demonic state. This alone set them far apart, even though InuYasha's father had mated with a human, thus making InuYasha a hanyou, half demon and half human. The last, he was promised to another woman, or rather another demon. One like him. It only made sense, that he would choose another youkai to wed or rather mate. Humans were fragile and never lived very long. Even though she knew all of this, in her heart she knew none of it would change the fact that she loved him.
She had been right. She continued to grow, somehow avoiding every marriage her uncles offered to her. They had all been promising, young men of great social status. They weren't him, InuYasha. So she denied each of them, thanking them for their troubles before asking if they'd like to meet one of her sisters. Her mother finally realized marriage wasn't for her eldest daughter. Kayoko soon sent her out of the country to stay with relatives where she'd be safe and hopefully marry. The ?nin war had just started and caused great trouble everywhere, including her home. She was sixteen by that point. She shook her head softly, as she remembered where she was. That was many years ago now and if her mother hadn't sent her away to stay with an aunt, she probably wouldn't be standing next to him now. She smiled to herself, taking in the sight of him. His hair was longer than hers and she likened it to be woven from the finest silk that any worm could make and as silver as the moon. Two soft dog ears sat on the top of his crown, proof he was a creation from his demon father and human mother's love. His eyes were bright and a warm amber, so close to the color of a tiger's orbs. He was taller than her, perhaps by half a foot or more. His simple black kimono was elegant and covered his chest smoothly, over tan skin she knew to be riddled with dozens of scars. She must have been staring at him longer than she had meant to because soon those warm eyes were gazing back at her. Her breath caught in her throat, still amazed at how gorgeous he was. He smiled, which only kept her dumfounded, her mouth left slightly open.
“You'll start catching flies if you aren't careful.h
InuYasha tilted his head, kissing his wife on her forehead. He chuckled as he saw the faint blush creep on the flesh of her cheeks. He reached for her hand, lacing his clawed fingers with her delicate ones. Destiny had brought them together. He remembered finding her in England. So bizarre it had been, stumbling upon her scent in the busy streets of a market place. Lavender and ginger, spicy and sweet on the roof of his mouth. That had been five years ago. How had she managed to stay away for so long, he didn't know. His heart was glad, when he found she belonged to no one else. He had known since the first time his eyes caught sight of her, she was his. His soul reached at for her as did his youki, his demonic energy. In his entire life, in all the centuries he spent in other's arms, his youki had never reacted to anyone. No one before Kagome.
