Chapter 2

In the fighting grounds, there were about ten students training. There are a few youkais and humans. Kagome and Inuyasha walked into the training grounds.

"Hey, Kagome!" a raven-haired girl with a long ponytail walked up to them.

"Hey Sango. Inuyasha, meet Sango."

"Is he a new student?"

"No Sango, he was injured in the forest."

~Slap~

"Keep your hands to yourself, you pervert!"

"why, I'm hurt, Sango-sama"

Kagome sighed.

"Inuyasha this is Miroku."

"Nice to meet you" Miroku said.

"Feh" was Inuyasha's reply.

"KAGOMMEEEEEEEEE" A kitsune yelled as he jumped into Kagome's arms. Another boy came up to the group.

"hey, `nee-chan."

"Hey Shippo-chan, hey Sota." Kagome smiled at the young kitsune.

Shippo looked at Inuyasha and asked "who's this?"

"this is Inuyasha. Inuyasha meet Shippo and my brother, Sota."

"well, I see everyone got introduced." A deep voice came from behind them and they all turned.

Kagome, Sango and Miroku all bowed respectfully.

Shiro looked at Inuyasha's sword. "Are you good with swords?"

"I manage to live in the forest alone."

"I'll like to challenge you."

The group looked surprised. Shiro rarely challenged anyone.

Inuyasha grinned "sure. Get ready to be beaten."

Shiro smirked. "we'll have to see about that, won't we?"

Everyone was gathered around to watch the fight. It was a rare opportunity to see Shiro fight. Shiro and Inuyasha were ready to fight.

"Shall we begin?" Shiro asked.

"whenever your ready."

Inuyasha pulled out the Tetsaiga and it transformed. Every one was shocked except Shiro. Shiro pulled out his sword as well. They leaped against each other and their swords against each other. They broke off and Inuyasha attacked Shiro with many strikes, but Shiro managed to block every one of them. Now it was Shiro's turn to attack. Inuyasha managed to block most of them but with a nice stroke, Shiro managed to get the Tetsaiga out of Inuyasha's hands and on to the grounds.

Inuyasha's went wide. He lost… No one said anything. The tension was so thick that it could have been cut with a sword.

"Come in. I'll like to have a word with you." Shiro went inside.

Kagome walked up to Inuyasha. "come on Inuyasha, let's go inside."

"Sit down." Shiro motioned Inuyasha and Kagome to sit down.

"Kagome, would you prepare tea for us?"

"Sure. I'll be right back." She got up and left.

"let's properly introduce ourselves. I'm Shiro Higurashi. The master of this dojo."

Inuyasha's eyes went wider. "you're Shiro Higurashi?!"

Shiro smiled and replied "yes I am"

`No wonder I couldn't beat him. He's the legendary warrior.'

Kagome walked in and broke his train of thoughts.

"so I guess your name's Inuyasha."

Inuyasha looked surprised. He never told him his name.

Shiro smiled again. "don't look so surprised. I think I could recognize the Lord of the Western Land's son and his sword the Tetsaiga. The last time I saw you, you were just a baby. So where do you live now?"

" I just wander around the forests. I have no home" Inuyasha replied.

"Why don't you stay here and train with us?" Shiro offered.

Inuyasha seemed to be thinking.

"Come on Inuyasha, it would be fun." Kagome spoke.

"Feh"

"I'll take that as a yes" Kagome smiled.
