InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Seperation ❯ Chapter 7

[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]

Wheeee…I'm back. Enough said. Oh, and since I haven't done it yet, I'll just stick it in here now that I don't own any of these characters except myself (Meg), Max, Kim and Sarah. No matter how much they deny it, they know it's true. And if I succeed in my plan of killing off Mickey Mouse, Jack Sparrow would belong to me too. Sadly, the government doesn't seem to like my plan very well and are now watching the house. So please ignore the men hiding in the bushes while you read this. They won't hurt you if you don't make any sudden movements.

Sarah's POV

I opened the fridge and looked around inside for something good to eat. I didn't really care about my appearance at the moment either, since it was only me and Will in the house. It obviously didn't bother him either. I'd thrown on whatever clothes were laying closest, and it didn't seem to bother him. The fact I was barely decent didn't seem to either.
I pulled a cinnamon bun out of the fridge and looked over the door at Will, who was sitting on the couch. “Want anything?”
He shook his head, not looking up at me from where he was fiddling with the buttons on the phone. “We missed 58 calls last night…”
I shrugged. “Probably one of those 1-800 numbers trying to sell us something. Does it say who it was from?”
“Blocked number.” ((Because Jack and I are smart like that -.-;))
I shrugged and closed the door to the fridge, going over and sitting beside him. “Delete them then.”

Will had taken me out the night before, dinner and a movie…the classic thing. Just because we were married didn't mean we stopped being young, and we fit in fine with the Friday night crowd that was there. No one suspected a thing, unless they saw the wedding bands on our fingers. We'd come back home pretty late, and stayed up a little…ahem…later, so anyone who called was probably missed on purpose…due to the circumstances…((Tsk Sarah! Heh.))
I kissed Will before pulling off pieces of the cinnamon bun and popping them into my mouth. “Sure you don't want anything?”
He shook his head.
I tried to tempt him by holding the cinnamon bun under his nose. “Come on…you know you wanna…we haven't eaten since supper last night…and it's noon…come on…”
He laughed and pushed the roll back to me. “It may be noon, but we just got up. I'm not hungry yet.” ((You told me to make it worse than mine Sarah…tis workin'!))
We didn't do much for the rest of the day. We sat on the couch, his arm around my shoulders, watching whatever came on TV, not really feeling like moving…it was Saturday morning, what did you expect?
Around evening I heard someone knocking at the door. I groaned and rolled over, burying my face into Will's shoulder. “Do I gotta get it?”
He looked down and kissed my forehead quickly. “If you don't, there's an innocent bystander out there that's going to get a bit of a shock.”
I rolled my eyes and kissed him. “No one sees that but me.”
He pretended like he was going to shove me off him. “Then get going.”
Sticking my tongue out at him, I got off the couch and pulled on my pair of light blue jean capris, and pulled on a white tank top over…what little I was wearing before. Pulling my hair into a low ponytail at the base of my neck, I made as if I was going to pull the blanket covering Will off him as I walked by before opening the door.
There was some guy in an ugly suit and greasy hair standing there. “Do you want to be able to have a home that is clean and sanitary?”
I blinked. “Go burn and die under a rock.” And slammed the door.
Will laughed. “You got dressed for nothing.”
Sticking my tongue out at him, I headed back over to the couch. “I think that guy might have had a heart attack if I'd shown up in nothing but lingerie. Looks like he hasn't seen anything like that in years.”
On my way back to the living room, I stopped by the kitchen, thinking that I'd grab a few drinks to hold us over until Will decided to get dressed and we got something to eat for supper. Headed towards the fridge, I was almost there when I tripped over one of the chairs and fell towards the back wall near the window.
I didn't have time to say anything before everything turned black as I fell through the wall, the last words I heard being Will yelling out my name in alarm before I saw nothing but darkness.

I shifted position where I was laying so I could get more comfortable. Though I couldn't see how that would be possible. I was so comfortable already I felt like I could just lay here forever. As it was, I really didn't care where `here' was. I was sleepy, and this was comfy. It all worked together.
The sound of a door opening disturbed me. Someone walked in, and from the light that I could see through my closed eyelids, opened the drapes of some windows that were apparently in the room. I could hear the person bustling around a little, so I opened my eyes blearily just to see what was going on.
I was cuddled up in the blankets of a beautiful four-poster feather bed, pillows all around me and sunlight streaming in on me from the huge paned glass window looking out over what seemed to be a large lagoon that had been converted into a harbor. There was a dressing table and mirror next to the bed made of the finest wood, and there were other various things scattered around the room that looked like they deserved to be in the homes of the rich and famous, and people who collected antiques.
This room…looked too familiar for comfort. WAY too familiar. As if I'd SEEN IT BEFORE.
I sat up in the bed, and the person in the room, who was dressed like…oh God…I was right…
“Here you are miss…time te get up now.”
My eyes widened. “Ok…” I thought. “Keep calm. You're in Pirates of the Caribbean. It's not like you haven't been here before, and these are already better conditions than last time…play along Sarah…play along…”
“Uh…” I finally said out loud. “Ok…but can I ask one thing?”
She curtseyed. “Certainly miss.”
Fancy. “Can I ask where I am?”
She maid blinked. “Why…you're in the governor's mansion m'lady. Where you arrived last night to visit your father's friend….don't you remember?”
“Er…of course I do. I…blanked out for a minute.” Play along….ok….this was easy…
The maid went over to the wardrobe across from the bed. “Let's get you dressed miss….”

About an hour later, I looked in the mirror and couldn't recognize myself. Apparently I played along with this stuff pretty good.
My hair was piled up on top of my head in this fancy knot with a million pins, and there was a strand of pearls around my neck. I was in a dress of light china blue material, decorated with a darker blue pattern of flowers and vines printed on it. I could hardly BREATHE from the damn corset strapping me in, and the dress had a lot more lace and skirts in general than I was used to.
Coming out into the hallway, I went slowly down the stairs…now I understood why people went down stairs slowly in movies like this…it's impossible to go faster without passing out from lack of air.
The Governor from the movie I was apparently stuck in was standing at the bottom of the stairs, smiling at me. “Welcome Miss Marsfalder. ((Name changed for safety against stalkers <.< *cough* Kim and Max *cough*)) We were wondering if you were going to sleep all day.”
I blinked. “Uh…yah, sorry about that…wait, we?”
The Governor smiled. “Yes, my daughter and I, you remember Elizabeth don't you? You and she used to be playmates when you were younger. Your father would bring you along when he came on business trips.”
It was instinct to narrow my eyes at the cheerfully smiling blonde beside me, but at her confused expression I remembered drama class with Meg and how I'd have to act like I knew her…and didn't have the wish that she'd drop dead on the spot. I smiled a little. “Of course, how could I forget Elizabeth?”
She smiled back at me. “I have wonderful news Sarah.”
I fought back the urge to shove her out the window. “And what's that?”
Her face lit up with a smile. “I'd like you to meet my husband, James.”
Of course, she was talking about none other than Commodore James Norrington, who came into the foyer all smiles, coming to hold Elizabeth's hand.
I raised my eyebrows and looked from one to the other in surprise. “Uh…congratulations…?”

Not long later, I was sitting in their equally fancy parlor, sipping this vile-tasting tea from a china cup, my back forced to be straight by the death-trap corset I wore, and a pleasant smile I think permanently etched into my face. I'd been listening to them talk on and on and on about their wedding, their plans for their new home, yadda yadda yadda. The only thing that happened during this entire time was the fact that Norrington left, quite suddenly when one of his officers came in for a moment and whispered something into his ear. He wasn't gone long, no more than a half hour according to the clock on the wall, but the state he came back in his something that interested me more. He looked thrown off, and a bruise was growing on his left cheekbone under his eye. It looked like his nose had been bleeding at one point too, and I wondered where he'd been. ((Oh the irony!))
It wasn't long after he'd returned that I was broken from my thoughts of how I could get out of this situation when I heard Elizabeth's voice, alight with sudden interest.
“My Sarah that ring is beautiful…where did you get it?”

Done! FINALLY! And now I'm going to sleep. Ta!
