Part 2
Inuyasha was stunned, this female was protecting him? Why? His heart pulsated when he felt her soft lips on his cheek and he would not be surprised if he was blushing deeply. He was not exactly spoiled with this kind of intimacy. And he knew he could not let the centipede harm this female, but the spirit arrow… if he only was free he would be able to protect her. Time to make the announcement of his awakening known.
- Set me free, he whispered with a rough voice and he felt the female stiffen next to him.
- Y-you are awake? stammered Ayame and looked into the face of the handsome hanyou. But his eyes were still closed.
- Shhh, set me free and I will get rid of this scumbag, he continued to whisper.
- H-how?
- Remove the arrow.
Ayame nodded and took hold of the spirit arrow. It burnt her hand but her will power was greater. She heard the miko yell desperately behind her.
- No, NO!! Do not remove the arrow!!
But Ayame paid no attention to the yelling and she used all her power to remove the arrow from the shoulder of the hanyou. And with a ragged scream the arrow disintegrated in her hands.
"It is impossible! No youkai should be able to touch the spirit arrow of Kikyo…" thought the old miko, but here she was, witnessing the releasing of Inuyasha.
Inuyasha opened his eyes and he looked with a mischievous gleam at the female wolf and he purred darkly before planting a kiss on her soft lips. He heard her gasp and he slipped his tongue into her mouth, tasting her and he was hooked. He reluctantly pulled back.
- Thank you little one, he whispered before jumping down to take care of the big mouthed centipede.
Ayame looked confused and surprised all in the same time. She was sure her cheeks flared red due to the kiss. She touched her lips with her fingers and she looked up to see the hanyou rip the centipede to shreds with no effort at all. Body parts splattered the clearing and Ayame let out a disgusting sound.
- Kill him, shouted the miko and fired off her bow.
- KEH! Do you think you can kill me? snarled Inuyasha and covered his face with a big red sleeve. The arrow just bounced off.
- Inuyasha, you must pay for your deeds.
- What, I have done nothing - who are you to tell me that I have done something wrong old hag?
- I am Kaede, the younger sister of Kikyo, said the miko.
Inuyasha made a face and snorted as he jumped back to protect the wolf against the people who wanted to hurt her for freeing him from his imprisonment.
- You are that little brat?! Well, for your information Kaede-baba, I do not know what the hell you are talking about. Your dear sister pinned me to this tree for no reason at all, yelling that I had betrayed her, said Inuyasha.
- But you did, she died because of the wounds you gave her, said Kaede with a menacing voice.
- WHAT???!! I did not touch that bitch!! screamed Inuyasha. I was here waiting for her when she showed up with her bow and arrows and shot me with her fucking spirit arrow.
Kaede was now very confused, she had seen him bashing into the temple to steal the Shikon no Tama, but if he had been here waiting for Kikyo it could not have been him, could it?
- Inuyasha, where is the jewel?
- The Shikon no Tama? Well, unless you have done something to it, it should be inside your temple, snorted Inuyasha.
- No, you stole it - do you not remember it?
- Stole it? What the fuck are you talking about?? And can you tell your fucking people to lay down their weapons; I don't want you to hurt her.
Kaede tripped on her sandals hearing those words from the hanyou she hated so much for killing her sister. That was not the words of a killer. But she did a gesture and the village people lowered their tools.
- You have me very confused Inuyasha. If you were not the one killing my sister, then who did? I saw you with my own eyes, bashing out from the temple with the jewel in your hand.
- Oh please think about it, if I was the one to have your sister would have taken it from me once she had me pinned to this fucking tree wouldn't she?
Kaede nodded to that. She knew Kikyo wanted to take the jewel with her into the next life, but her body had been burned without the jewel. And if Inuyasha did not have it - that meant that somebody out there still had it. And that proved Inuyasha's innocence. Kaede felt tears well up in her eyes and she threw away her bow and arrows and kneeled down.
- Inuyasha-sama, this old miko beg you to forgive her for her false accusations, said Kaede.
- Huh? Please Kaede-baba, don't do that, it is embarrassing, mumbled Inuyasha and turned his face away do hide his blush.
- Please Inuyasha-sama, begged Kaede.
- Yeah, yeah… you are forgiving - but only if you will provide for a dinner, I am starving.
Ayame laughed softly and jumped down onto the ground. She had indeed done a good deed today. And now it was time for her to leave. But when she was about to take off into the forest she felt a clawed hand grip around her arm and she looked into Inuyasha's golden eyes.
- You will come with us, he stated and dragged Ayame with him towards the village.
- Hey, hey, what the hell do you think you are doing, she protested and tried to get out of his hold.
- Stop it wolf, you will come with me, or do I have to use force? He growled low and pulled her into a tight embrace.
- W-what.. no, but I do not see the reason for me to hang around here anymore..
- Do as I say and do not questioning me.
Kaede looked back and wondered what the hanyou had in mind for the young female. She had her guesses, but she was not sure about them. She invited the two youngsters into her hut and she saw Inuyasha sit down, his back against the wall and he pulled the woman down to sit in his lap. He sniffed her lightly and Kaede saw the deep blush spread across Ayame's face.
"What the hell is he doing? Why can he not just let me go?" she asked herself, and she hated her body for relaxing into his embrace. She was not willing to admit that she felt a powerful bond between the two of them, but it was there and it would not go away.
