An Inu Yasha sonfic

Baby, please try to forgive me,

Inu Yasha is sitting in a tree, watching Kagome sleep at the campfire below

Stay here, don't put out the glow.

The fire and Kagome reflect in his sad eyes

Hold me now, Don't bother,

He sharply turns the other way, an annoyed look on his face

If every second it makes me weaker,

His expression softens

You can save me from the man that I become, oh yeah,

a flashback shows him yelling at Kagome

Looking back on the things I've done,

He grimaces

I was trying to be someone,

another flashback of Inu Yasha slashing at Sesshoumaru in true form with Tetsusaiga

Who played my part,

another flashback: Inu Yasha stands proudly after having killed the Mask of Flesh

Kept you in the dark,

flashback: Human Inu Yasha yelling at Kagome; Kagome then breaks into tears

Now let me show you the shape of my heart.

Inu Yasha's eyes stare downward sadly

Sadness is beautiful,

Inu Yasha hops down from the tree, crouches next to Kagome, and just stares at her thoughtfully

Loneliness is tragical

flashback: Kikyou's arrow hits him in the chest hard, slamming and pinning him to the old tree

So heal me, I can't win this war,

flashback: Still pinned, but awake, Inu Yasha tries to pull out the seal arrow, but fails

Touch me now, Don't bother,

Inu Yasha sniffs at her closely, then opens his eyes and backs up slowly

If every second it makes me weaker,

Looks down at his clawed hands, then clenches them suddenly

You can save me from the man I've become

Glances back at Kagome as the wind blows through his hair

Looking back on the things I've done

flashback: Inu Yasha coming down on a bridge to snatch up Shikon no Tama

I was trying to be someone,

flashback: He grins demonically as he flies and stares at Shikon no Tama in his hand

Who played my part,

He moves to smack Shippo off of Kagome's sleeping bag, but then stops

Kept you in the dark,

Kagome shifts in her sleep

Now let me show you the shape of my heart.

Inu Yasha watches as Kagome turns over and unconsciously pushes Shippo away

I'm here with my confession,

He sits down beside Kagome and carefully pushes her bangs out of her face

Got nothing to hide no more

Kagome stirs awake and is shocked to see Inu Yasha

I don't know where to start,

Inu Yasha appears to fumble for an explanation

But to show you the shape of my heart.

Nervously, Inu Yasha reaches out and touches her face

I'm looking back on things I've done,

Turns his face and pulls his hand away while saying something to Kagome

I never want to play the same ol' part,

Inu Yasha gives her genuine 'puppy eyes', then stares straight at the ground

Or keep you in the dark,

Kagome watches with teary eyes, then smiles and says something

Now let me show you the shape of my heart.

Kagome touches Inu Yasha's face and he looks up at her, surprised

Refrain 1

Miroku wakes up and sees Inu Yasha talking to Kagome unnoticed, then gently taps Sango awake. Sango wakes up, sees IY and Kagome. Miroku and Sango smile.

Refrain 2

Shippo wakes up, rubs his eyes, and blinks when he sees Kagome and Inu Yasha. Shippo looks to Miroku and Sango, and they gesture for him to stay quiet.
