Summary: A girl is killed in a tragic accident. While the outside world comes to terms with her death, her soul continues on with the life it would have had, being unable to handle the truth of it's death, until 30 years later after an accident similar to her own death, she realizes that she has been dead those 30 years. As her spirit comes to terms with her death, her ghost revisits the real world one last time, for a final goodbye.

`Oh god I'm late!' Kagome thought as she ran through the schoolyard towards the sidewalk that meandered along the busy highway. `Papa is going to kill me!' she thought, weaving in and out of the people that crowded the limited walking space, occasionally mumbling apologies when she would bump into the unsuspecting pedestrians.

In her haste to reach home, Kagome began crossing the busy highway, unawares to the oncoming danger. Keeping her head down, mumbling to herself in an incoherent manner, she remained oblivious to the cries of the pedestrians that lined both sides of the road.

The protesting squeals of brakes applied too quickly and too harshly snapped the girl out of her reverie and self-berating. Her head harshly bolted upright as her eyes widened in fear and realization. Rooted to the ground she watched in morbid fascination as the car made its way towards her, as in slow motion. The next sound that filled the ears of the onlookers, following the screeching brakes, was the sickening sound of bone cracking and splintering as flesh met metal.
