Chapter 3

Kagome stood in front of the mic again, for about the 9th time. She and the band had been hard a work, serious about getting their demon out and circulating, they'd even posted a few of their songs on myspace. Kagome had written this song herself this time, it was her first time ever singing her own words. They're CD was a mix of japanese and english songs. Kagome loved it. She had compromised this whole song herself also. She put on the earphones. Her and Inuyasha were the only ones there, her working on her guitar and songs. "Ok, you know when to begin." she heard him say into her headphones. The red light came on signaling recording, the beat started in her ears and she was swept away yet again, she opened her mouth and sang her lyrics. They'd been working almost nonstop, this would be the 10th track on the cd. She'd gotten better at the guitar, but not good enough to be on the cd yet.
"See, you're a pro now." Inuyasha said when she stepped out. "Yeah, I guess." she sighed slumping down on the couch. She'd taken a couple of days off to be here and she was tired. She'd also been working double shifts when she could, to save up money for her own car, since her rich mom wouldn't help her out on this one. She sighed, thinking of her mother and how close they used to be, all before she 'threw her life away.' her mother had so put it. Her brows furrowed as she wondered how she would be able to get her mom to see life without music wasn't life at all. "Kagome? Hello, earth to Kagome." Inuyasha said to her snapping her out of her thoughts. "Huh?" she asked. "What's up with the face?" he asked playfully. Kagome crossed her arms and looked the other way. "There's nothing up with my face. This my face, right?" she asked.
Inuyasha stood up from the computer and sat next to her. "Kagome, tell me what's wrong." he said to her. Kagome looked at him and threw him a false smile. "Nothing's wrong, everything is peachy keen." she said, and winced she NEVER said that. Now Inuyasha knew something was wrong. And after all Kagome had tried hard to hide her problems, she really didn't like talking about them. Her mom, her dad and ex boyfriend were touchy subjects, subjects she never liked to visit. Inuyasha looked inquringly at her. She sighed and groaned, uncrossing her arms and sat back defeated. "Everything is fucked up in my life, besides the band." she said softly. Inuyasha raised his eyebrows. He knew there were somethings Kagome didn't like to talk about and he could respect that. "Do you mind telling me?" he asked. Kagome took in a breath, she never talked about any of those things. She let it out slowly. "My mom disowned me because I wanted to persue singing. She said, it was a waist of time and it would get me no where." Kagome said, putting on her mom voice. Inuyasha shook his head. He knew how much Kagome loved music. After all, her heartbeat was rythym, right? Everyone's is.
"And she said it was the most stupidest thing I did, after making father leave and dating..." she trailed off. Her ex was the most hardest thing to talk about. Kagome looked down at her toes. "She said it had been my fault he left. But I don;t understand. When he was here, she acted like she...like she loved me. Then he leaves her for another woman and she accuse ME of it." she said softly. Inuyasha pulled her into a hug, startling her. "She just doesn't know what a wonderful gift you have. I bet if she heard yoy sing, she'd change her mind." he said softly to her. "She blamed my wanting to sing on, Kouga my ex. Because she caught him one night...trying to, I guess you could say, rape me. And called me a whore." she said softly closing her eyes. This would be the part where Inuyasha would look at her as a dirty girl, some one filthy and disguisting. She looked up at him and saw many emotions in his eyes it made her gasp. Anger, compassion, sympathy but she was so glad she didn't see the judgemental and pitying look in his eyes. That was the last thing she wanted. "I promise Kagome, I'll always protect you, no one will ever hurt you again." he said hugging her again, and breathing in the smell of her hair.
Kagome giggled. "You always know what to say." she said softly. Then the door opened. Kagome cursed inside her head. "Were we interrupting something?" came Miroku implying voice. "Shut up you hentai." Kagome said to him throwing a pillow from the couch at him. "Well, I guess we can leave you two lvoebirds alone, unless you don't want to know the good news?" said Sango. "Well, what is it?" Inuyasha asked, sounding somewhat annoyed. "We have a gig!" she screamed. "Really, for who?" Kagome asked. "We're opening for Nana Kitade!" she screamed even louder, this time being joined by Kagome. "Are you serious! That's going to be broadcasted all over the country!" Inuyasha said. Miroku nodded. "Dead serious!" Miroku told him, they high fived. "How did you do it?" Kagome asked. "Well, if Inuyasha hasn't told you. I begged him for the spot, since he owns a music company and all." Sango said. "He would've said no if I hadn't have played a tape of one of our songs. I was lucky enough to have one on me then." Sango continued. Kagome jumped up and hugged Sango, they began to jump up and down holding hands. "We have to go shopping! NOW!" they both screamed. "Oh no!" groaned the boys. "It's not that bad to shop. It's actually fun." Kagome said to them. "ALL girls think shopping is fun!" the guys exclaimed at the same time. Sango and Kagome grabbed a pillow of the couch and began to hit them with it over and over. "You're going shopping with us, and you are gonna like it." Sango said. "Ok!Ok!Ok!" they scramed. "Good!" Kagome squeaked ctuely, then dropped the pillow and landed on the couch with a squeal. "I can't believe we're going to be opening for THE Nana Kitade!" she sighed. Her life was almost perfect.
"Ok, we're a band. Our outfits have to reflect who we are." Kagome said at the mall two days later. The gig was in 3 days they had ideas of outfits but didn't really know what to wear. They also had rehersals. They ahd also finsished their demo. "I got it!" Inuyasha said walking into hot topic, the group folowed. "Red and black?" Miroku asked when Inuyasha said grabbing som black pants that had a red stripe down the side, they were VERY wide legged and long, and had many chains coming out of the pockets. "I like it, it's diffrent. Plus I see a corset I can wear." Kagome said grabbing a black corset that was black and laced down the front in red. She also grabbed some black pants, but the were plain black and skin tight with chains coming our of them. Sango also grabbed a similar corset but it was black with red polka dots and laced in blood red. "Cool." Miroku said. "You're just saying that becasue our boobs will be pushed out the top of these. "Shoudl we wear red boots or black?" Kagome said wondering about shoes. "How about, we just do innie minie minny mo." Sango said. They were tired of wondering. The guys had split, looking for black and red things.
A few minuted later they met up at the dressing rooms. "Ok, let's do this." Kagome sighed. Her feet were hurting and she had a pair of black boots witha red striped down the side, like Sango's, after searching for nearly and hour they'd finnaly found a pair. Kagome walked into her dressing room and slid out of her clothes and into the corset and jeans. "Wow," she mumbled to herself. The corset was tight and made her waist look even smaller. Her b cups almost looked like c's but in a classy way. The corset also showed a small about of skin. She put on her skinny jeans, tucking the pants legs inside the boots and zipped them up. She walked out, metting Sango. "Wow! You look s-e-x-y!" Kagome said to her. "So do you!' they squealed. They turned around and there stood the guys with jaws open. They high fived. "I believe we've found our out fit, girl." Sango smiled.
They guys looked just as delicious. They had on the baggy wide legged pants with the red down the sides and chains coming off and they had black shirts with pictures of anime punk rockers on the front. "Cool, you guys look great." Kagome said locking eyes with Inuyasha, 'You look more than great, you look delicious!' Kagome thought to herself. Inuyasha smirked, he knew from Kagome's face she thought more than that. "Ok, now that we got our outfits, we should get back and begin reahearsing, we only got 3 more days!" Miroku said in a suprisingly serious voice. "Ok, ok." they all said and went backl in the dressing room to put their clothes back on.
Kagome walked into her house, her shopping bags in her hands. she carefully hung them up, putting plastic on them so the dust in the closet wouldn't get on them. Then there was knock at her door. She looked through the hole and her heart fell into her stomach. He said he's be back, but pleae, not now! Not when everything was going so good! She back away from the door slowly, thinking that he might here her. The knocks got louder. "Kagome I know you're in there! I saw that Inu-turd drop you off. So you fucking him now?" said the male voice. Kagome bit her tounge shw should just ignore him. She went into her room, where she ahd put double locks on the locked them and dialed Inuyasha's number quiclkly. "Inuyasha, he's here! I don't know what to do I'm so scared. He says he saw us!" she said said when she heard Inuyasha's voice. "Who's there?" he asked his voice laced with worry and anger at her fear. "Kouga." she whispered. "I'm on my way." he said. Then she heard the scariest sound in the world. Her front door beginning to splinter. She tripple check the locks, then grabbed her mace. If he got in here, she wouldn't be going down with out a fight. She would've got a tazer but didn't have enough for that. She thrust her fist into her mouth when she heard the last of her door break away. She got down on her knees and crawled under bed, finger on the mace button. She felt neasuea grow in her gut as she heard him walking through her apartment trashing it.
Then his feet came near her door, she placed a hand over her mouth to keep from screaming. Then, she waited as she heard the door knob turned. Then heard banging noises. Kagome knew he was going to get in, she she got out from under the bed scolding herself for being so fucken scraed. Inuyasha was on his way. But what if he hurt him. She reached under her pillow, just as her hand garsped the handle of her switchblade he'd burst in. "My my, Kagome. Been waiting for me I see." he said looking at the mace and blade in her hand. "Get the fuck out Kouga, or I swear I'll cut out your heart and shove it down your throat." Kagome said shaking with anger, as she felt the anger and hurt he caused her fill her.
"Now now Kags, you wouldn't do that to someone you loved, wouldn't you." he sneered nearing her. "I never loved you. I love...I love someone else." she said softly it dawning on her now. She'd only known Inuyasha for a month and yet, she was,she adimitted to herself in love with him. "Who, oh, don't say Inu-turd." he sneered anger filling his eyes. Kagome shook her head. "His name is Inuyasha, and I love him. So you need to leave Kouga. I'll have no regrets for going to jail for murdering you. I'll just show them the apartment and my mom can back me up about you trying to rape me." she lied, her mom didn't believe her, but Kouga didn't have to know that. Then she heard footsteps running up her apartment stairs. Then at that moment he charged at her. She screamed and pushed the button on the mace, it hit straight in the eyes. He screamed and grabbed her hand, benging her wrist back and knocking the mace out of her hand. She closed her eyes waiting for the pain. Then his wait was jerked off pf her and she heard his form hit the wall. Kagome's grip tightened on the blade in her hand. She looked up and saw her knight in shinning armor running to her. "Are you ok?" he said helping her up. Then they heard a moan and Kouga stood up, growling. "So I was right. You are with that peice of shit." he sneered his mouth bleeding from where he hit the wall. Inuyasha stepped in fron of Kagome. "The only peice of shit here is you." he said. "No, let's leave Inuyasha." Kagome whispered.
"No, he's only going to follow you whereever you go. That's what stalkers do. So, you're Kagome's stalker?" he asked sneering. Kouga growled louder and chuckled. "You think you're so high and mighty, don't you Inu-turd?" he asked. "I know I'm way better than you. I don't go around trying to rape innocent women." he sneered. Then Kouga charged. Kagome screamed as Inuyasha punched Kouga in the stomach. Then Kouga sent Inuyasha a left hook. Inuyasha staggered then growled, punching Kouga straight in the nose. Kouga fell, then was back up again and tackling Inuyasha, pushing him into her wall. "Stop it! Leave him alone!" Kagome yelled dropping her blade mindlessly, running and ounching Kouga from behind, she pulled his hair and punched. "Get off of me you bitch." he yelled turning and punching her in the gut, sending her across the room earning a small 'eep' from her as her breath was taken away. Inuyasha eyes widened and he couldn't see straight from his anger. Kagome chocked on her non-existent breath. She staggered up as Kouga bent over and grabbed her blade. She took small gulps of breath.
"Inu...yasha." she gasped running for him and pushed him out of the way just as Kouga swept with her blade, cutting deep into her arm. "You bastard!" Inuyasah yelled. Punching Kouga again in the nose then in the jaw, hearing bones crack. The blase fell from his hand as he fell, passing out. "Kagome!" he said making sure Kouga was out. She was still gasping, but breathing better from the blow to the gut. She chuckled. "He sure packed a walloped. But I'm made of tougher stuff." she said brathelessly, finnaly able to breath. He dialed 911 on his phone taking Kagome to the kitchen to clean off the wound. She hissed. "Looks pretty deep." he said, wipping around it. He growled with anger. "Why did you get in the way? You could've been hurt!" he whispered to her. "I couldn't let you get hurt..." Kagome said, trailing off. "Kagome, it doesn't matter about me. It's you I was worried about." he said to her. Kagome looked down at the ground, a tear falling to the ground. "I'm sorry, I just couldn't stand to see you get hurt like that. He just made me so angry, I wasn't thinking." she whispered. She said, the replay of Kouga nearing Inuyasha's heart with the blade.
"I came here to save you and you end up saving me." he chuckled darkly. Kagome smiled a small smile. Inuyasha wipped the blood from her cheek and looked into her eyes. "I told you Kagome, I will always protect you." he whispered to her. A tear fell down her down her face. "I was so scared." she whispered. Then she stood on her tip toe and kissed him. "I never thought I would feel your lips again." she whispered to him. "Kagome...I don't know if you feel the same way but...I love you. I've loved you since the first time I saw you." he whispered to her. Kagome gasped. "You do?" she asked quietly. He nodded. "Oh Inu-koi, I love you too." she whispered and kissed him.
Kagome winced as the doctor bandaged her arm. 17 stictches, that bastard had made her have to get 17 stitches. But it didn't matter, he was going to be locked away for a while. Her show was the next day, but had come up with an idea, tie a red silk ribbon over all thier arms, their signature. Kagome walked out of the emergency room, hand in hand with Inuyasha. He only sported a few bruises. Kagome leaneed her head on his shoulder as they walked. She couldn't believe something so good could happen out of something so bad. She went back to her wrecked apartment and packed her bags. She was moving in with Inuyasha, she needed to anyway, their band might be hitting it big time the next day and she need rest and relaxation for the rest of the night. Once inside his house, they began to kiss again. "I didn't know what was going to happen." Inuyasha whispered. "I'm just glad you're alive." he whispered to her. "I know Inuyasha. I know." she said, kssing him again. They lay on his bed wrapped in one of his blaknets, comforted by one anothers presence. They slept peacfully, the whole night.

He screamed and grabbed her hand, benging her wrist back and knocking the mace out of her hand. She closed her eyes waiting for the pain. Then his wait was jerked off pf her and she heard his form hit the wall. Kagome's grip tightened on the blade in her hand. She looked up and saw her knight in shinning armor running to her. "Are you ok?" he said helping her up. Then they heard a moan and Kouga stood up, growling. "So I was right. You are with that peice of shit." he sneered his mouth bleeding from where he hit the wall. Inuyasha stepped in fron of Kagome. "The only peice of shit here is you." he said. "No, let's leave Inuyasha." Kagome whispered.
"No, he's only going to follow you whereever you go. That's what stalkers do. So, you're Kagome's stalker?" he asked sneering. Kouga growled louder and chuckled. "You think you're so high and mighty, don't you Inu-turd?" he asked. "I know I'm way better than you. I don't go around trying to rape innocent women." he sneered. Then Kouga charged. Kagome screamed as Inuyasha punched Kouga in the stomach. Then Kouga sent Inuyasha a left hook. Inuyasha staggered then growled, punching Kouga straight in the nose. Kouga fell, then was back up again and tackling Inuyasha, pushing him into her wall. "Stop it! Leave him alone!" Kagome yelled dropping her blade mindlessly, running and ounching Kouga from behind, she pulled his hair and punched. "Get off of me you bitch." he yelled turning and punching her in the gut, sending her across the room earning a small 'eep' from her as her breath was taken away. Inuyasha eyes widened and he couldn't see straight from his anger. Kagome chocked on her non-existent breath. She staggered up as Kouga bent over and grabbed her blade. She took small gulps of breath.
"Inu...yasha." she gasped running for him and pushed him out of the way just as Kouga swept with her blade, cutting deep into her arm. "You bastard!" Inuyasah yelled. Punching Kouga again in the nose then in the jaw, hearing bones crack. The blase fell from his hand as he fell, passing out. "Kagome!" he said making sure Kouga was out. She was still gasping, but breathing better from the blow to the gut. She chuckled. "He sure packed a walloped. But I'm made of tougher stuff." she said brathelessly, finnaly able to breath. He dialed 911 on his phone taking Kagome to the kitchen to clean off the wound. She hissed. "Looks pretty deep." he said, wipping around it. He growled with anger. "Why did you get in the way? You could've been hurt!" he whispered to her. "I couldn't let you get hurt..." Kagome said, trailing off. "Kagome, it doesn't matter about me. It's you I was worried about." he said to her. Kagome looked down at the ground, a tear falling to the ground. "I'm sorry, I just couldn't stand to see you get hurt like that. He just made me so angry, I wasn't thinking." she whispered. She said, the replay of Kouga nearing Inuyasha's heart with the blade.
"I came here to save you and you end up saving me." he chuckled darkly. Kagome smiled a small smile. Inuyasha wipped the blood from her cheek and looked into her eyes. "I told you Kagome, I will always protect you." he whispered to her. A tear fell down her down her face. "I was so scared." she whispered. Then she stood on her tip toe and kissed him. "I never thought I would feel your lips again." she whispered to him. "Kagome...I don't know if you feel the same way but...I love you. I've loved you since the first time I saw you." he whispered to her. Kagome gasped. "You do?" she asked quietly. He nodded. "Oh Inu-koi, I love you too." she whispered and kissed him.
Kagome winced as the doctor bandaged her arm. 17 stictches, that bastard had made her have to get 17 stitches. But it didn't matter, he was going to be locked away for a while. Her show was the next day, but had come up with an idea, tie a red silk ribbon over all thier arms, their signature. Kagome walked out of the emergency room, hand in hand with Inuyasha. He only sported a few bruises. Kagome leaneed her head on his shoulder as they walked. She couldn't believe something so good could happen out of something so bad. She went back to her wrecked apartment and packed her bags. She was moving in with Inuyasha, she needed to anyway, their band might be hitting it big time the next day and she need rest and relaxation for the rest of the night. Once inside his house, they began to kiss again. "I didn't know what was going to happen." Inuyasha whispered. "I'm just glad you're alive." he whispered to her. "I know Inuyasha. I know." she said, kssing him again. They lay on his bed wrapped in one of his blaknets, comforted by one anothers presence. They slept peacfully, the whole night.
