InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Shikon High ❯ Chapter 3 ( Chapter 3 )
A/N: Here's the explanation for why Kagome is not exactly a girl.
Chapter 3
~Kagome's POV~
I can't believe it. I actually have to board with a boy! It's all daddy's fault. But not really. He was only trying to save me.
~Flashback~
Kagome's dad: "Come here Kagome. I have something to tell you before I die." An almost five years old Kagome ran to her father's deathbed.
Kagome: "Yes, Daddy. What do you want to tell me?"
Kagome's dad: "I am dying. I can be with you no longer, honey. I have a friend named Mr. Higurashi. He wants to take in a son so go dress in some boys' clothes and tie your hair in a ponytail. He will pick you up tomorrow." With this said, Kagome's dad died.
~The next day~
At six-o-clock in the morning, a government official came in and took the deed to Kagome's father's dojo.
Kagome: "Why are you taking our deed? It belongs to Daddy."
Government official: "He's dead now and it belongs to me until you have proven yourself worthy of this dojo."
Kagome: "How do I prove myself worthy?"
Government official: "Like win a martial arts tournament or something, little boy." And with that said, he left.
~End Flashback~
Now it all comes down to this one tournament that I have to win.
Inuyasha and I bowed to each other and I unsheathed my sakabatou. I got into my ready position. Inuyasha started by lunging in to attack. I easily dodged it and appeared in front of his face before he could blink.
Me: "Face it, there's no way you can beat me. I won't allow it. My whole future depends on this tournament. I have to win."
I slammed the flat of my blade into his stomach. He tried to block, but was too late. He doubled over. I took this chance to point my sakabatou at his neck.
Me: "You lose."
Inu: "You're good."
Me: "You're not bad either. I only won because I have practiced more than you. I've practiced martial arts 5 hours everyday since I was 5."
Coach: "We have a winner. Kagome Higurashi will be our #1 representative."
For the first time in years, I was proud of myself.
