Chapter 10
Work and a few of surprises.
We pulled up in front of "The Hangout" then she parked and we got out and walked in side the building.
Our boss smiled at us and greeted, "Hey girls! Nice to you again!"
We smiled back and replied, "Thanks boss!"
Then we walked into the back and pulled on our aprons and name tags, and gathered our order pads and pencils.
Sango looked at me asked, "So what was that all about?"
I replied, "What do you mean?"
Sango smiled and answered, "That kiss." curiosity visible in her brown eyes.
I immediately blushed.
I shrugged and said, "Don't know."
Sango smiled to herself and walked over and clocked in.
I finished tying my apron and also clocked in.
We walked over to the boss and he announced, "Okay girls, as you know this place tends to get pretty busy, so be on your toes."
We smiled and nodded.
We walked out into the dinning area and started taking food and drink orders.
Then a big group walked in.
They got seated at one of my tables.
I walked over to take their orders and gasped as my eyes widened in shock when I realize who they were.
Hakudoshi smirked at me and said, "Hey there."
I replied, "Hey, so what can I get for you tonight?"
Heiten smirked at me with mischief clear in his red eyes and replied, "A number two platter with a Dr pepper and a kiss."
I made the order and looked at him and stated seriously, "MINUS the kiss, your order will be ready in a few minutes."
Naraku chuckled and mentioned, "You know Heiten, I don't think she likes you much!"
I rolled my eyes at them.
Naraku smirked at me and replied, "I will have the number three with a coke and your number."
I shook my head and replied calmly yet seriously, "Drop dead Naraku."
Heiten chuckled and quipped, "I Don't think she likes you much either Naraku!"
Hakudoshi smirked and said, "I will have the number one with a sprite."
I nodded and stated, "Your FOOD and DRINKS will be ready soon."
Then I walked over to the counter and put up the orders.
My boss walked over and asked, "You gonna be okay?"
I nodded.
Boss said seriously, "If they give you any hassle let me know and I will kick them out! They have already been warned about harassing my workers!"
I smiled, nodded and said, "Thanks boss."
He nodded.
I got their drinks and took them over to them then left again.
Miroku who was working in the kitchen came over to me and offered, "Do you want me to call Inuyasha, Sesshomaru, or Kouga?"
I replied, "NO! Thanks but no, I can handle those pricks myself!" staring him dead in the eye.
Miroku shrugged and said, "Alright."
Then he turned back around to the dishes.
A few minutes later the orders came up and I balanced them on a tray and carried them over to the table.
I set the tray down and placed there orders in front of them.
Naraku reached over and grabs my arm just as I was about to leave.
I turned around and glared at Naraku.
My boss walked over and asked, "Any problems here?"
Heiten said, "No sir!"
My boss looked directly at Naraku and said evenly, "Then kindly release my waitress! As you can see we are busy tonight and she has work to do!"
Naraku let go of me and I quickly walked off into the back.
My boss nodded and walked away.
I stormed into the wash room and scrubbed my arm trying to remove his touch!
After a few minutes I returned to my job and continued taking orders.
Over the next hour, I returned periodically making certain to stay out of reach of them and asked if they need any refills.
As they were finishing their drinks, and dinner another group came in.
Sango grinned and mentioned, "Hey Cathy, it looks like you got another group!"
I faced her and asked, "What makes you so sure they are my group?"
Sango replied, "Just a hunch! " and walked away grinning.
I turned to see who it was and felt myself smile.
Sure enough they were sitting in my area.
I brightened instantly feeling better and walked over and questioned, "May I take your order?"
Bankotsu smirked at me and mentioned, "I asked for you specifically!"
I smiled and queried, "Why?"
He smiled, shrugged and replied, "Well, we are new to town and don't know any good groceries stores! We also aren't the greatest of cooks anyways, so we decided to go out to eat. Then I remember you said you worked here, so we came here."
I nodded.
Bankotsu asked, "So what would you recommend?"
I smiled brightly and replied, "The number 5 platter would be my recommendation."
He looked it over, nodded and said, "I will have a number 5 with a sweet tea, and a slice of lemon."
I nodded and made the order.
The big guy next to him spoke, "I want a number 7 with a coke."
I nodded and made the order.
The skinny one stated, "I'll take the number 8, well done but no pickles, with a diet coke."
I nodded and made the order.
I said, "I will get the drinks now and your food will be done shortly."
Then I walked over and put up the orders and got the drinks.
I added a slice of lemon to the glass with the tea.
I walked back over and set their drinks in front of them.
Bankotsu smiled at me, I smiled back at him and walk over to check on my other costumers.
I walked over to Hakudoshi and his friends and questioned, "Is there anything else I can get for you?"
Heiten smirked and smarted off smugly, "I am still waiting for that kiss!"
I said evenly, "You are gonna keep waiting, because it isn't gonna happen!"
Naraku teased, "Tsk! Tsk! Now that's no way to treat a customer!"
I glared at Naraku.
Naraku reached out to grab my arm again, but I was ready this time and quickly moved away.
Hakudoshi said in a bored tone, "I'm done guys, lets blow this joint!"
I laid their tab on the table and walked immediately away while Heiten and Naraku laughed.
I walked over by Bankotsu's table, and he stood up reached out and grabbed my elbow then looked into my eyes and asked concerned, "Hey, are you alright?"
I smiled gratefully at him and answered, "Yeah, thanks."
Then he nodded and released me as he sat back down and I walked over and got their food.
I carried the tray over to the table and placed their orders in front of them.
The three of them started eating and I walked away again.
After I was absolutely certain Naraku and his posses had left, I went and bussed the table they ate at.
In a napkin under the ketchup bottle I found a five dollar bill, and an apology from Hakudoshi.
I was shocked and slid it into my pocket.
After that I walked over to check on Bankotsu's table.
I refilled their drinks.
As I was about to walk away Bankotsu said sweetly, "Cathy, I want you to meet my older brother Suikotsu." and pointed to the big guy.
I nodded at the big guy.
Bankotsu pointed to the skinny guy and continued, "And my little brother Jakotsu."
I smiled and said, "Nice to meet you all."
They mumbled, "Same here."
I asked, "Can I get you all anything else?
They shook their heads no, so I placed the tab on the table.
Bankotsu smiled at his brothers and said, "Guys, I will be right back."
They nodded and he stood up and lead me over to the soda fountain.
Bankotsu looked me dead in the eyes and questioned, "Seriously, are you ok? I saw Naraku and Heiten harassing you!"
I smiled and replied sweetly, "Yeah, I'm fine. Thanks for your concern though."
He nodded and mentioned, "So, now you have met my brothers."
I nodded.
He walked back over to his table, and I walked into the back with the dirty dishes from Hakudoshi's table.
I put the dishes were Miroku could get to them and walked back out.
I had a few more costumers that left so I buffed their tables and gathered my tips.
Then only Bankotsu's table was still occupied in my area.
I walked over and refilled the condiments and such.
Bankotsu walked over to me and said, "We are leaving now. I'll see you tomorrow, k."
I smiled and nodded.
He left and I went over and buffed his table and removed the dishes.
In the middle of the table was a $7.50 tip.
I smiled and added it to my pocket.
I took the dishes back to Miroku and he washed and rinsed them.
It was finally time to clock out, so Sango and I removed our tips and put them in our bags.
Then we removed our aprons and clocked out.
We gathered our tip bags and sat at a table in the break room while waiting for Miroku to finish.
A few minutes later he clocked out and the three of us walked out to Sango's car.
Sango unlocked the car and we climbed in then she dropped me off at my place and I walked inside.
Inuyasha was sitting on the couch and asked, "How was your night?"
I yawned and replied, "Exhausting! First Naraku, Hakudoshi, and Heiten show up..."
Inuyasha growled and I assured him, "Don't worry Yash, my boss dosen't allow them to harass us!"
Inuyasha said seriously, "As long as THEY leave you alone!"
I nodded and continued, "Then Bankotsu and his brothers show up. A few other customers but those were the groups."
Inuyasha nodded.
I yawned and mentioned, "I'm wiped out Yash, see ya in the morning!"
He nodded.
I walked upstairs, stored my tips in my shorts drawer, showered then fell into bed as I thought 'That kiss was just so...WOW! I wonder if he likes me or if he was just being sweet again...Oh well time for some shut eye!'
I rolled over onto my side and adjusted my pillow then let my head drop on to it and as soon as my head hit the pillow I was out like a light.
