When Time Crawled to a Standstill
He watched the arrow fly, a shining pink point of light as time slowed down to a crawl and there was absolutely nothing he could do to stop it.
For a moment, all he felt was anger, anger over how he had been pushed into this moment, twisting all his dreams, and then regret, a bitter taste filled with knowing that he would never see Kikyou’s face smile again, never feel her eyes light up at his presence. All the wants and wishes of his heart were turned to dust. Instead, he would take the miko’s look of determination and anger into the darkness with him - a cold companion.
Then came the fear, icy, cold and black, like acid burning his throat as the arrow reached its mark.
Overcome with the light of purification, Naraku was no more.
