Business is Business

Kagome Higurashi came in the following day of work with a dog beside her as always, difference was; he was now in human form full time. But he also was partner to the multi-billion dollar company of Inu Incorporated. But later last evening, when he told Kagome about himself, he explained things to Sesshomaru.

"Why, should I care in the slightest, the reason you stayed with Kagome? I hired her because she works diligently, is professional, quite intelligent when she shuts her mouth, and she's the only one of my advisors, able to stand me, and vice versa." Sesshomaru said, over the phone, to his little brother trying to explain things.

"You will not take my advisor Inuyasha, but if she wishes it, you can move in the office next to her, to assist her." he continued.

"I'm glad we got that settled", Inuyasha said as he pressed the hang up button, the conversation had been over intercom and Kagome had heard all.

"He said, I'm smart, and diligent", she said with a little bit of a blush that she couldn't suppress.

"But what did he mean when I shut my mouth?!", she said angrily, a blush still on her face, as Inuyasha watched.

"Your blushing over my brother, how sad", he said, as he continued to watch her from the foot of her bed, his arms behind his head.

"Why is it sad? He isn't half bad looking…", she drifted off.

"WHAT?!", he said getting off the bed jealous.

"What happened to "I love you best Inuyasha"?!", he screeched, in a mocking voice.

"That was before you went hairless, and opened your mouth!", she retorted.

"Whatever", he said huffily as he got up and went to the window.

She sighed went over and scratched his ears.

"Where are your brother's ears?", she inquired curiously, as she tugged on his.

"He's a pointy eared freak", Inuyasha said cumulatively, his eyes closed as Kagome rubbed his ears.

"Oh, cool", she said.

"But I like your ears better Inuyasha", she said, a double meaning in her words he caught. What she really said was "I like you best even though I like your brother as well".

"Let's go to work Kagome", he said offering his arm.

"So are you ready? Big time partner in the multi-billion dollar Inu Industries?" Kagome said, as she straightened out his tie, in the evaluator.

"I feel like I'm going to pre-school", he said embarrassed as a crowd of Inu industries employee's walked in.

Kagome smiled and laughed, but then her mouth became a thin line as she smelled Kikyo coming in the elevator. She always wore that expensive perfume that said "skank".

"Hello Kagome, who's your friend?", Kikyo said eyeing Inuyasha, who was quite handsome in his business suit, along with briefcase and tied back hair to cover his ears.

"He is the latest partner of Inu industries, he is as powerful as the Boss himself", Kagome said spitefully putting her arm in his.

"I see…", Kikyo said, with an evil smile.

"Kagome, where's your dog?", Kikyo said nastily.

"Oh he's sick and probably won't be coming to work anymore", Kagome answered.

"What does he have fleas?", Kikyo said, as she laughed.

Once again the door opened just in time for Kagome to be ushered out before she got into a fight.

"I hate her", she said through her teeth as her and Inuyasha crossed to their offices.

"She's not the nicest woman is she", Inuyasha said as they stopped to part their separate ways.

"This is going to be the first time that you're not going to be in my office with me", she said.

"Yeah, but I'll be right next-door if you need anything", he said comfortingly.

"Ok well I'll see you later then"

"Bye", and then they parted, only about five feet to their separate offices.

Kagome sat in her desk, and played the memos, and began to work, often thinking of Inuyasha.

"I wonder what Kagome is doing", Inuyasha said aloud to himself as he finished looking over 4 business proposals, Sesshomaru's imp handed him.

"I know I'll call her", he said as he looked at his fancy phone, and saw Kagome Higurashi, in the memory bank.

There was a ringing and then she answered, he was glad to hear her voice.

"Hello?"

"Hi Kagome"

"Well? What can I do for you?"

"I want an espresso, easy on the foam, and I want you to call me sir from now on", he said, with a grin.

"Inuyasha?", she said.

"Yes?", he said still smiling.

"Kiss my ass", and with that she hung up the phone.

He smiled he knew that would get her. Then he reclined on his chair, and fell back, hitting his head on the wall. Then he looked at the wall, and smirked.

He got up and put his hyper sensitive ear to the wall.

He heard her rustle around and then say,

"What an asshole, I can't believe he wanted me to call him sir"

"What a childish little punk", she continued.

Inuyasha got up and went to her door, and burst through.

"Kagome I just heard everything you said, about me being a childish punk, and I hereby dock you a week's pay", he said triumphant, with power.

"Inuyasha, do you want to eat through all your teeth tonight?" she said, and he backed off slowly then ran to his office, terrified at the look she gave him.

Kagome smiled as she worked though. It was nice to have him here.

When it came lunch time Inuyasha went and got both of them sandwiches and chips from the snack bar, in attempts to make it up to her.

He entered her office to find no one there; he quickly turned around and saw she was in his office with lunch for two looking around for him.

He smiled and walked in to his roomy office. Complete with a couch, leather chairs, and numerous gadgets and toys, it was really cool.

Kagome heard him rustle around in her office and smiled briefly. Then she felt for it, then went over to his chair sat in it and put her feet up.

"I want a cappuccino, extra whipped cream, and from now on Inuyasha, call me Miss Higurashi", she said teasingly.

"Kagome", he started.

"Yes?"

"Kiss my ass", he finished and she threw back her head and laughed.

Inuyasha went over to her and put the extra food down beside her as he pulled up a chair alongside her.

"So what do you think of Miasma Co.?" Kagome started seriously.

"I think they don't know who they're messing with", Inuyasha answered his lip curling at the thought of that arrogant Naraku.

"Well as long as they don't get they don't have the Intel we have, then we are fine until we get another business to help us", Kagome said thoughtfully.

"Yeah", Inuyasha said.

"Well the lunch break is over…" she said getting up and walking to her office.

Inuyasha was saddened by her leaving and worked hard, using a bit of his demonic speed to work as fast as possible. When he had completed his tasks, as the joint partner of Inu industries, he went to his office, and sat down. And then his thoughts drifted to Kagome. He wondered what she was doing and if she was thinking about him. Then he remembered earlier this morning, and he knocked on the wall they shared, three times.

Then he heard a knock, back 4 knocks. He smiled then tapped Morse Code. Being blind Kagome had picked up on quite a bit of other means of communication.

"Aren't. You. Supposed. To. Be. Working?" she tapped.

"I. Am. Done." he tapped back.

"Then. Just. Don't. Stand. There. Tapping. Come. Help. Me. Get. Done!" she tapped the last part vigorously.

He smiled then got out of his chair and went to her office where she was listening to business proposals, with an earpiece connected to her computer.

"I have to listen to all these business proposals, and if I deem them fit they go to Sesshomaru and yourself", she said, as she listened with one ear.

"I also, file proposal records, formalize deals, Sesshomaru has agreed and do meetings with only the most prominent of prospects, and I also attend business events in the stead

Of Sesshomaru, as you may have noticed", she said all this while she filed a case and sent a message over to communications to refuse the "Hell Painter", contract offer.

"Gees, Kagome I never really noticed or paid attention but you do a lot for this company", Inuyasha said as he stared at her amazedly.

"Yep, and since you sat there the whole time, I am now done", she said as she got up, reached for her bag and then accidentally touched the harness that Inuyasha once wore.

"Did you mind it?" she said, as a slightly shadowed smile crossed her face, as she took it up in her hands.

"No, not really, you were always gentle Kagome", he said, as he took it away from her and put it down.

"Now one final thing I want you to do for me, since I am your boss", he said, mischievously.

"Inuyasha I am n-", she began moodily.

"Let me take you to dinner", he finished as his hand covered hers in a soothing way.

Kagome just sat there. He wanted to take her to dinner? Oh boy what was that going to be like?
