Kagome walked around in the currently empty apartment that her and Inuyasha share. She smiled looking at a picture she had on her dresser. She decided to take and nap and headed out for the couch in the living room when the phone rang.

Kagome grumbled as she answered it.

"Inu residence."

What she herd was not so much of a voice as it was… demonic.

`Death is coming. It is coming. It follows Lady Hell from the depths of the eastern crypt. Up through the ground and to the soul of the city. Death is coming. It is coming. I can feel it. You fear it.' No matter how much she wanted to hang up that phone she couldn't.

`It is coming for you. It is coming for the hanyou. It is coming for the kit. It is coming for the child. Death is coming. Following it's master. Be ware of it's master. Lady hell does not take kindly to women. Oh, Lady hell. Lovely Lady Hell. She ripped my head off one time because I didn't pay her back in full. I was only a penny off. Lady hell… oh, lady hell.' The person seemed to crackle crazily for a moment before restarting the full on earth shattering ramble about death and Lady Hell.

"Kagome…" A soft voice called out to her. "Kagome…" It called again. Between the soft voice that was barely recognizable and the man on the phone Kagome was confused and scared.

Suddenly the voice on the phone stopped before letting out a blood curdling scream into her ear. Causing her to drop the phone as the softer voice called to her once again.

When that demonic voice and phone had left her side Kagome suddenly felt safe… warm. She felt better and more secure. Safer… yet, she was still scared. No one takes the crazy babbling about death lightly. The man had sounded serious while still being able to make a insanity plea.

Kagome felt like she was falling. Falling into something soft that bounced her around a little bit. But only gently.

She soon realized it was Inuyasha shaking her awake.

"Kagome wake up. Are you ok? You were crying in your sleep. I came in and you were shivering in a cold sweat." He paused as she took a deep breath to calm her nerves. "Jesus, Kagome. You have fear radiating off of you."

Damn that cute little nose. Kagome said within the safety of her head, looking at a recently recovered hanyou.

When Inuyasha's worried look hadn't gone away Kagome answered.

"Just a really… really… really bad dream."

"One of those ones that seems really real?"

Kagome nodded.

"Kagome… that wasn't a dream… you're a Miko… it was… a… premonition."

"But it didn't show anything happening."

"Sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it will just come right out and tell you."

Kagome did not like where this was going.

"Then… who is Lady Hell?"

Inuyasha's eyes went wide. "Lady Hell… Kikyo."

===========================================

Kagome still sat on the couch. Inuyasha holding the shivering figure close to him. It was clear it was out of fear, not lack of warmth. Though if it had gotten cooler in the room, it might of been.

Inuyasha just nuzzled closer to the scared women. Telling her that everything was fine. Nothing was going to happen while he was around. Kagome felt only slightly better as she hugged herself closer to his chest. If this was any other time, he hands would be at his ears.

But for now they were around him in a hug. Trying to stay as close to her protector. Or as one of the kids at her old school had dubbed him. Her Silent Protector.

Kagome sighed feeling a sudden need to sleep again. She didn't want to, she was worried about the nightmares again. But as Inuyasha slowly lulled her to sleep with the slow motions of circles on her back, Kagome gave in, falling into a deep restless slumber.

Dark Hallway

===========

Two figures stand in a darkened hallway. Silence a think honey between them. But only for a few moments.

"Sir. We can't touch her while she is with that filthy hanyou."

"So how do we get her away from the hanyou?"

"That's just it… no one knows. He doesn't let her out of his sight for anymore than two seconds."

"You don't get her away from him. You need to subdue him. Take this and take some of my men. Track them down and kill the girl. If need be… kill the dirt too. I'll make this clear… I want that jewel."

"But sir…"

"Did I hire you to question my judgment?" The cynical voice hissed.

"As you wish sir." The female voice responded.

"That is better. Now go."

The women left the building and sat in one of the benches outside. Looking up at the clouds that threatened to pour a rain storm worthy of a twenty year drought.

Though she knew it would end up being snow.

She sighed looking down at the vile and scroll.

Can I really kill Inuyasha? I don't think I can… Naraku knows this… so why did he choose me?

===========

Naraku sat in a oversized chair in the hotel room.

I know Kikyo will try to kill Inuyasha after killing the girl. If it plays out… they will kill each other. My plan will not fail.

He let out an evil laugh.

Inuyasha still layed down on the couch with a sleeping Kagome in his grasp. Slowly thinking over the days events.

Lady Hell… what are you planning Kikyo?
