Backing slowly up the stairs, she picked up some of her stuff. She could never forget those eyes. And, of course, of all the schools she would end up in his. All the gazes that were on her slowly drifted off either back to food or to conversations. All of them except for his.
"Yashie?" Kikyo asked, placing a hand on his. "What's wrong, sweetie?"
His gaze snapped, and he turned back to the small group. He blinked stupidly, and set back to his indifferent look.
"Nothin'."

"So, Sango-chan." Ayame typed, sitting in media class. "What the deal with KagInu-boy?" The class wouldn't have noticed the slight taps of the keyboard, mostly because the teacher: Myoga-sempai, was---not really paying attention, to put it bluntley.
"...What makes you think there was something going on?--" Sango typed back, blending in with the tapping of everybody else who ere doing the exact same thing.
"M.Hachii has joined the chat." The screen flashed at them, while Sango started cursing under her breathe.
"Konnichiwa, Ayame-chan, Sango-chan." He typed, casting a quick look over to the wolf-demon and demon exterminator. "Was that really Higurashi at lunch today, Sango?"
"..." She glared at him, knowing that if she told him, he'd tell Inuyasha. He looked up, meeting her glare and returning it with a smile and a friendly wave.
"Yeah, Miroku-kun. Sango-chan told me before." Ayame typed non-chalantley.
"OO;; AYAME!" She closed the small dialogue box as the teacher came around slowly, making his rounds around the classroom. Sango heard a couple more clicks as more and more students saw him coming, causing her to laugh. How could he not here it, was a better question...
---
Kagome sat across the large room. There were just enough computer for everybody in the class, bringing a total of 21. She tied her hair up in a ponytail, watching her computer screen. Hearing a slight `ding', she cast a glance at the name of the sender: Wakikama Kikyo.
"Hi, just so you know, I'm the student government rep. We'd really like it if you would come out this year for the school activties, show that even new people have spirit. ï?Š" And then she signed off. Kagome glanced around the room. She saw a girl, probably this Kikyo person, sending her a cheesy smile.
She sighed, and propped her head up in her hand, ready to almost worship the bell as the class was dismissed for the day. Slinging her bag over her shoulder, she glanced at the time. "2:53" She had to pick up Souta at 3:30...so that left her a good half-hour. Picking up her guitar, she blended into the small sea of students that was slowly making their way too the back area.
Finally, the brown doors opened on either side, allowing those who wanted to either go to the courtyard, or onto the front steps, to do so. Sighing, Kagome resigned her fate to the front steps for the rest of the day.
Sitting in front of another Sakura tree, she pulled out her guitar.

"Hope dangles on a string
Like slow spinning redemption
Winding in and winding out
The shine of it has caught my eye
Roped me in, so mesmerizing
And so hypnotizing
I am captivated
I am..."
His eyes focused on her once more. He had heard that voice before, but it couldn't be her. Sango had told him....Sango had told him that she moved to the States. Then what was she doing back here? Her scent...now that the students were drifting off, it was clearer now. This was her.
Kikyo followed her boyfriends eyes to the `distraction' that was taking his attention away from her. She glared when she saw it was the New Girl. The one who she had been overly-nice to before, and everything.
"Vindicated
I am selfish, I am wrong
I am wrong, swear I'm right swear I knew it all along
And I am fine but I am cleaning up so well
I am seeing in me now all the things you swore you saw yourself"
"Sango--!" Ayame called, but the brunette merley held up a hand, trying to get the wolf youkai to shush.
"She's singing again." She stated simply, and Ayame started on the lookout. "She has to be oblivious now as she was back then..." She drifted off.
"So clear
Like the diamond in your ring
Cut to mirror your intentions"
Miroku smiled as he heard her lyrics ringing clear, recognizing them. It surprised him that Inuyasha hadn't recognized her yet. If he had, he sure hadn't made it obvious yet. Mind you, Inuyasha wouldn't exactly come out and tell him if he did.
------------x-----------
"Really!? You'll teach me?" Her eyes lit up at the idea, and how could he say no? Nodding slightly, she squealed, and gave him a hug. "Thank you, Inu-kun!" Leaning up, she gave him a quick kiss on the cheek and went to get her guitar.
"...yeah..." He stood there numbly, watching the spot where she had once been.
-------x-----
"It's called Silhouettes. Goes like this," Slowly, he began to pick up in to the song. Kagome could feel herself melting at the sound of his voice, and only watched as he played for her.
"I don't wanna live like my mother...
I don't wanna let fear rule my life...
I don't live like my father...
I don't wanna, give up before I die...Oy! Do you wanna here the song or not?" He asked glaring at her. Kagome gave him a sheepish smile, then nodded.
"Sorry, you know I can't resist the ears though. They're so...," A small twitch of his ears sent Kagome to scratch them. "Aww...the little puppy's purring!" She giggled as he let out a low purr.
"I don't purr." He pouted, sitting straighter.
"Yes you do, Inu-kun."
"No, I don't."
"Yes you do."
"No."
"Yes."
"No."
"No, you don't."
"Yes, I do....wait. Not fair Kag-chan!" She giggled and tweaked his ears again, before finally sitting down to listen to the rest of the song.
-------x------
"Kagome-chan! Wait!" The car tires screeched away as the girl stuck her tear-stained face to the back window. She only waved to him, not turning around. Not telling them to stop the car. Where the hell were they going?
He tried to keep up with the car, tried to follow her. It broke her heart even more to watch him. Rolling down the window slightly, she screamed out, so even at his distance he could here her.
"I'm sorry, Inu-kun!" He slowed down slowly, not able to keep up to speed with the car.
Her voice carried through the wind, and down the small deserted road. He watched as the car disappeared, as it became nothing more then a shadow.
----------x----------
Sango smiled as she watched the small group where Inuyasha, who watched Kagome. It wasn't quite so much the hanyou she was watching rather then...his fuming girlfriend beside him. It was about time Kikyo had finally gotten what she deserved, in Sango's opinion. Many people like Kikyo in the school, sure.
But because of the fact that it was her father who sent the order that the Higurashi's move to Osaka in the first place, so Kikyo could have Inuyasha all to herself...it still bothered Sango. Even if they were back now. Of course, she had never told Inuyasha this. He thought that Kagome had to move to the States, rather then Osaka, because that's what Miroku and Sango had decided to tell him. Not only did they know the truth, so did Kagome. She was the one that had told them not to tell Inuyasha. She asked them to, pleaded for them not to. She wanted him to be happy, even if she couldn't be there.
"Oversized and overwhelmed
The shine of which has caught my eye
Rendered me so isolated and so motivated
I am certain now that I am...
Vindicated
I am selfish, I am wrong
I am wrong, swear I'm right swear I knew it all along
And I am fine but I am cleaning up so well
I am seeing in me now all the things you swore you saw yourself"
Miroku grabbed Inuyasha's wrist, pulling him forward and startling everybody.
"Oy, Higurashi," Miroku called, and as the raven-haired girl looked up, he pushed Inuyasha forwad. Watching as the person flung at her she barley recognized the silvery-hair, but when he looked up at her she recognized that gold...
"I-Inuyasha?"
