InvincibleInuYasha: Writing cuz I'm bored. Don't ask questions! I had a sucky day at school as usual. Oh yeah, and I got a comment saying that Kilala's name is spelled Kirara, but I don't think it is. It's just that it's pronounced like it's spelled Kirara, but it's really spelled Kilala. I hve a shirt that says Kilala's name on it and it says Kilala, so ha! lol. Not trying to be mean, just stating a point. But one thing I really sdon't know how to spell is the real name of Narku's poison wasps. What is it, Saimyosho? Please, correct me if I'm wrong. lol. R&R.

Disclaimer: I don't own Inu Yasha. Grr.

Chapter Two

Miroku stretched his arms out in front of him as he walked alongside Sango, "Ah, I'm still a bit tired." Inu Yasha's ears twitched from up ahead, "Well, we're not stopping! Stop being such a wuss and walk faster!" Miroku chuckled and muttered, "Inu Yasha is so pushy." Sango smiled, "That's true. He woke us up before the sun came up and told us to get up." Miroku nodded, "Yes, and it is becoming quite a bother. Maybe we should catch Inu Yasha, tie him up, gag him, and see if he can survive a day without running around or making noise." Sango laughed when Inu Yasha shouted, "Shut up, monk! Want me to do that to you!? Except I'll beat you up at the same time and see if candy comes out of you! But in your case it might be pornos! So then Sango can beat you instead, how's that sound!?" Miroku smiled, "Ah, Inu Yasha, you know I am only kidding. Come now, Inu Yasha, can't you take a simple joke?" Inu Yasha narrowed his eyes at Miroku, "Shut up and walk, monk! Otherwise I'll leave you dangling from a tree by your feet."

They walked for quite some time before Kagome said, "Hey, I'm sensing a Jewel shard." Inu Yasha rounded up on her and shouted, "Where is it!?" Kagome backed away and said, "It's up ahead. But it's moving pretty fast." Inu Yasha made Kagome get on his back holding Shippo, while Sango and Miroku mounted Kilala. They moved quickly and reached a village. They were all shocked at the destruction. Villagers were running around in fear, houses were torn down and burning, animals scurried away from their pens and into the forests. Inu Yasha asked, "Kagome, are you sensing one, or multiple shards?" Kagome said, "Now that we're closer, I think that there's at least three." Inu Yasha smirked, "Good."

At the opposite edge of the village, they saw the huge lizard-like demon rampaging through the trees, breathing fire everywhere. Inu Yasha let Kagome down and Miroku and Sango dismounted Kilala. Sango removed the belt from her Hiraikotsu and threw it forcefully at the demon. She successfully sliced off the demon's arm and she caught the Hiraikotsu gracefully. The demon screeched in pain, but the arm was floating back and attaching itself to the broken flesh of the demon. Sango grimaced, "Damn. The shards are repairing the demon too quickly for us to do any lasting damage."

Miroku said, "I've got an idea. Kagome, where are the shards located on the demon?" Kagome stared at the demon and said, "They're in it's chest. Near the area where it's heart should be." Miroku smirked, "Sango, Inu Yasha, you two can cut off the demon's limbs and I'll take them in with my Wind Tunnel before they can be returned to the demon." Sango said, "But since there are jewel shards here, Naraku's saimyosho are sure to be around. They'll poison you if you use the Wind Tunnel." Miroku said, "If that's the case, then we'll have to figure out something else. But we can at least try to get an arm of a leg away from the demon so it will cause less damage."

Inu Yasha said, "Hey, I could just kill the thing and take it's shards!" Sango said, "No, you can't. This kind of demon has skin that is very difficult to penetrate, only another demon bone can cut through it cleanly." Inu Yasha said, "Well then, I'm sure my Tetseiga can cut through it. After all, it is just a huge fang." Sango said, "Maybe so. Well, try it. But don't aim to kill unless you're sure the sword will work." Inu Yasha said, "Yeah, yeah, whatever." He leapt foward, unsheathing Tetseiga, and ran to the demon, dodging it's flames. Sango followed him, throwing her Hiraikotsu at the demon's leg. The leg fell, and the beast struggled to keep it's balance while keeping it's eye on the red blur that was Inu Yasha. Sango shouted, "Now, Miroku!"

Miroku pulled the beads off of his right hand and held his wrist, pointing his hand the the fallen leg that was trying to attatch itself to the demon. The black vortex opened in his hand, fiorming a vaccuum-like suction that pulled the leg away. It was only about thirty feet away and was coming closer at a rapid speed when suddenly, huge wasps emerged from the trees, buzzing visciously and threatening Miroku with their venomous stingers. Miroku closed up his Wind Tunnel quickly and leapt aside so the leg wouldn't collide with him. The saimyosho buzzed around the demon, waiting for it to fall so they could collect their prize.

Inu Yasha cursed under his breath when he saw the wasps and decided to speed things up. He had torn through the skin on the demon's tail, which was now swishing around, swatting down trees. Inu Yasha leapt and tried to slice through it completely, but he only managed to cut halfway through, "Damnit!" Finally he had had enough, he lifted his sword above his head and shouted, "WIND SCAR!" Sango heard Inu Yasha's battle cry and ran aside. The aura of the Wind Scar cut through the flesh of the demon, ripping it's body apart. The beat cried out in pain and swished it's tail ferociously in a last attempt to fight. Miroku watched as the beast fell, the demon's tail lashed like a whip before falling. But then he heard Sango cry in anguish right after. He ran towards the cry and shouted, "Sango!!!"

Everyone heard it and ignored the beast, running towards Sango's cry. The Saimyosho pulled three bright pink shards from the carcass of the fallen demon. Miroku saw Sango sprawled on the ground near the edge of the forest and ran to her. He lifted her upper body carefully in his arms as he kneeled beside her. Inu Yasha, Kagome, Shippo, and Kilala all watched in worry. Miroku said in a panicky voice, "Sango! Sango, are you okay!? Please, say something!" Sango remained unmoving in his arms. Miroku stared at her pained face and realized what had happened. When the demon fell, it's tail had whipped from side to side. It must have hit Sango very hard. Miroku pleaded desperately, "Sango! Wake up! Say something! Please, open your eyes!" Inu Yasha said shakily, "She's still alive. She'll be okay." Miroku pulled Sango closer to him, embracing her carefully, not wanted to be he cause of futher pain to his angel.

Kagome and Shippo had tears in their eyes and Kilala stood beside her master unnerved. After a few moer moments of watching the forest burn, InuYasha said, "We'd better get out of here. Sango needs a better place to stay." Miroku picked Sango up and lay her carefully across Kilala's back. Miroku, himself, sat behind her holding her so that neither he nor she would fall. Inu Yasha picked up Kagome, Shippo, and Sango's Hiraikotsu and said, "We'll keep going this way, I'm pretty sure there's another village on the other side of the forest."

They traveled for only a few minutes, but to Miroku, it seemed like forever. Sango hadn't moved, opened her eyes, or made a sound. She seemed almost lifeless, her face pale and pained. Miroku worried over her, not taking his eyes off her. What if she was seriously hurt? What if she were to die!? Miroku begged Buddah for mercy on his beloved Sango. If she were to die, he wouldn't be able to go on. He slowly carressed Sango's hair, "Please, Sango, please don't die. I can't live without you." Inu Yasha's ears perked up ahead of Miroku. Had he heard right? Inu Yasha shook his head and ran a little bit faster. He could see the outskirts of the village already. Kilala followed closely behind him, wantign to reach the village so her master could be taken care of.

People were rushing around the village. Inu Yasha asked one of them, "What's going on?" The villager said, "We see smoke coming from the next village over and we heard the loud cried of a dreadful demon! It is coming this way, we're preparing to flee!" Inu Yasha said, "We already killed that demon, now please, could you help us? One of my friends is really hurt." The villager and others around who could hear stared, "You killed the demon!?" They were instantly showered with praise, but Inu Yasha shouted, "We need a doctor!!!"

The villagers usered the group into a hut and offered a bed to place Sango on. Miroku lay her gently on the mattress and looked at her face. It was pale, and her forehead was growing moist from perspiration. Kagome felt Sango's forehead, "She's burning up!" A few of the women from the village entered with water and herbs. Inu Yasha, Miroku, and Shippo were told to leave so they could take care of Sango. Miroku left Sango reluctantly, but listened. The sooner they treated Sango, the better.

Shippo decided to stay with some of the village children to play and to try to forget about all of the tension that was going around. Miroku and Inu Yasha walked around the village silently. Finally Inu Yasha broke the silence, "I'm sorry." Miroku looked up, "What do you mean?" Inu Yasha said guiltily, "Sango told me I should have waited. I killed the demon, but I didn't give her enough time to get away and it got her before I could kill it. I'm sorry." Miroku shook his head, "No, it's not your fault, don't blame yourself Inu Yasha." Inu Yasha blared out, "Don't try to make me feel okay about it, damnit! It's my fault, I never listen when I should! And if Sango doesn't make it, then..." Inu Yasha shut himself up and stared at the ground. Miroku looked away. Inu Yasha said quietly, "I'm sorry."

Miroku sighed, "I pray that that will never happen." They continued walking for a while, in a circle, around the village. They were stopped a few times by some cheerful men who asked for them to join them for a drink in celebration for the defeat of the demon, and even by some young ladies who were flirting with the heroes of their village. They paid no attention to them. They wanted to know if Sango would be okay.

Suddenly, they saw Shippo bounding towards them. Inu Yasha asked urgently, "What happened?" Shippo said, "They're done treating Sango, they want you to come and see her." Miroku was already running. Is she awake already? He didn't wait to ask Shippo. He'd see for himself. He ran into the hut. and almost ran into Kagome. He asked breathlessly, "How is Sango?" Kagome said, "She's still unconscious. And she's really badly injured. Both of her arms and a few of her ribs are broken, she was hit hardest in the chest area. and she twisted an ankle, probably from landing on it after she was hit. But she should be okay in two months." Miroku smiled, "She'll be okay? Really?" Kagome smiled, "Yes! She'll be just fine, it's just going to take some time." By surprise, Miroku grabbed Kagome and embraced her in a suffocating bear hug, "Thank you, Kagome, thank you so much!" He released her and ran into the hut. Kagome breathed in deeply, asking herself what had just happened.

A few ladies were surrounding the bed, but they saw Miroku. They stepped aside as they continued to clean up. Miroku stared at Sango. There was a blanket pulled just above her shoulders, covering the rest of her body except for her arms. Her arms were wrapped tightly with splints and bandages. Miroku was careful as he took her hand. Sango didn't look as pale, but she still had a pained expression on her face. Miroku watched the same expression on her face in lament. If only the Saimyosho hadn't come. Then he could have used the Wind Tunnel to rip apart the beast like he had planned. But regretting the past isn't something he wanted to do. He should look to the future. Would Sango really recover in two months, like Kagome had said? Whether or not she did, Miroku decided to stay by her side the whole time. He would make sure that she was taken care of and treated in the best ways possible. She wouldn't get less than the best if he could manage it.

He kept a soft grip on Sango's hand as he prayed for her health to return quickly. All he wanted was for her to be well. He would take care ofher and bring her back to her normal condition. He would make sure of it. And if he failed... Miroku decided not to think about it. Sango would make it anyway. There was no need to worry...

InvincibleInuYasha: Oh, woe is me! How could I do that to myself!? (If you don't know this already, I am known by many people as Sango. I even look like her lol, really.) OMG! That's so sad! Well, I'll write again. I have to decide what reall is going to happen. Don't worry, Sango won't die, I won't allow that to happen. Maybe in another fic, but definitely not this one. But poor Sango! Gah, she'll be fine, don't cry, please! R&R! Oh yeah, and sorry the chapter is kinda short. I just can't think on how to continue on from here. lol.
